Kelly Woodhouse:

Hey there, I'm Kelly Woodhouse, and you know I'll never forget the day that I went to a women's event and I met this lady named Charmaine Hammond, and Charmaine and I we just hit it off right away. So Charmaine said to me, "You know what, Kelly? People will be so inspired by your story. You need to be a speaker. And I was like, "What? I'm not a speaker, and she goes no. She said people will be so inspired by your story. Now, at that point in my life, I was in a toxic marriage. I was in a dead end job. We were almost bankrupt because of this side hustle business that I had

Kelly Woodhouse:

started, and I didn't see myself as an inspiration, I just saw myself as a loser at that time, but Charmaine had faith in me, and she had something in me that I didn't have. And she said, "No, Kelly, you're a burn survivor. People will be so inspired by your story. Well, Charmaine didn't let me go. Charmaine said, "We are gonna get you on a stage, and we're gonna get you started as a speaker. And so I started. I had no idea how to start. I had no idea how to find gigs, but she helped me. So why should you listen to this? So, landing the gig. Well, the reason you should listen to it because if

Kelly Woodhouse:

you are a speaker, which I'm assuming you are, you want more gigs. We all want more gigs, even when we're busy. We still want more gigs, and so I remember when COVID happened. Of course, I lost all my speaking gigs. I've been a speaker now for 16 years, and I was devastated because I loved being on the stage and I loved sharing my story. But with COVID, I lost all that. And then I thought, what am I going to do next? What am I going to do now? I had three teenage kids living with me full time, and I thought I've got to do something. I've got to find another way to make money, and so I pivoted

Kelly Woodhouse:

into coaching people to write their books, turn their stories into amazing works of art, so that they too can be an author and a speaker. Well, a best-selling author even, right? So that's what I've been doing for these past few years, as I've been doing some speaking, and I've also been coaching people to turn their stories into books. They so they can land more speaking gigs, and they can create a legacy piece. Whatever it is, whatever the reason is that they want a book and also be a speaker. So why should you listen? Because I know you want more things, and I know you want to know

Kelly Woodhouse:

the secrets. Why are some people getting hired and some people aren't? And what are we doing wrong? And what do we need to do right so that we can land more gigs? So that's what this podcast is all about. I wanted to know how can speakers land more gigs, and so I interviewed a whole bunch of best speakers, speaker coaches, event planners, event managers, and also speaker bureaus. What do we need to do right so that we can land more gigs? So that's why I hope you join me with landing the gig because I've interviewed all these people and they have all these great messages to share with you, and

Kelly Woodhouse:

of course the secrets for you to get more gig. So, jump in, come and watch London the gig, and share your message too, so that we can learn more about you, and tell us what do you need to do in order to get more gig.
