Welcome to Destin for Success. I'm your
Jennifer Takagi:host Jennifer Takagi, and today I want to talk about the voice
Jennifer Takagi:within learning to trust your inner guidance. So last week we
Jennifer Takagi:talked to Christina Malavenda, and she was talking about
Jennifer Takagi:exploring spiritual and paranormal experiences, and I
Jennifer Takagi:have talked about intuition in the past and how literally
Jennifer Takagi:listening to my intuition saved my life. So I want to just
Jennifer Takagi:continue that conversation. It's a fun one to have. Receiving
Jennifer Takagi:guidance is the first step. Real transformation happens when you
Jennifer Takagi:trust your intuition enough to act on it. So, getting into that
Jennifer Takagi:a little bit deeper, intuition becomes clearer when you create
Jennifer Takagi:space to listen. I am a firm believer that if there's never
Jennifer Takagi:silence, you can't hear the messages. If you're never in
Jennifer Takagi:silence, you can't hear the messages. Do the messages come
Jennifer Takagi:from God? Maybe. Do they come from your higher self? Maybe. Do
Jennifer Takagi:they come from your master's teachers and loved ones from
Jennifer Takagi:your akashic records? Maybe, but they come, and that's the point.
Jennifer Takagi:We don't have to get caught up on semantics, but they come, and
Jennifer Takagi:that is why meditation can be so important. Because as you
Jennifer Takagi:meditate, and as you visualize the life that you want, you can
Jennifer Takagi:start to see it and start to feel it more deeply. But it
Jennifer Takagi:happens when you're quiet. Now, does everything around you
Jennifer Takagi:necessarily have to be quiet? Not really, not really. Some
Jennifer Takagi:people are really good at blocking out everything around
Jennifer Takagi:them. Personally, I I like it to be quiet. I also don't believe
Jennifer Takagi:that you have to meditate for hours on end to get the message.
Jennifer Takagi:I think you can set the intention to get an answer, to
Jennifer Takagi:get an idea, to get inspiration for it to come to you, and it's
Jennifer Takagi:all about the intention. And then hold some space for it to
Jennifer Takagi:come in. What's your next best step? What would be the next
Jennifer Takagi:best thing I could do? Now I will beat myself up about this a
Jennifer Takagi:little bit because there are times I get great ideas to do a
Jennifer Takagi:social media post, record a video, something like that, and
Jennifer Takagi:I'm like, yeah, I'm gonna do that, and I don't do it, and the
Jennifer Takagi:inspiration passes, and I don't. I'm gonna be honest. Sometimes I
Jennifer Takagi:just don't do it. But if you can create a little bit of space in
Jennifer Takagi:your day, oh wait, I'm your 12-minute success coach, so
Jennifer Takagi:maybe 12 minutes would be good. Then your messages become
Jennifer Takagi:clearer, and your intuition shows up a little more clearly.
Jennifer Takagi:You have to give it space to show up. The more you trust it,
Jennifer Takagi:the more confident you're going to become in your decisions. And
Jennifer Takagi:I'm asked about this. Oh, you know it goes in waves. Now that
Jennifer Takagi:I'm talking about it today, probably a lot more questions
Jennifer Takagi:are going to come. One thing that has come up for me has been
Jennifer Takagi:using GPS. I used to only use GPS for long trips, and my
Jennifer Takagi:cruise control for long trips. And a friend of mine said, "Oh
Jennifer Takagi:gosh, especially if I come up on a school zone, I will set my GPS
Jennifer Takagi:so I don't go beyond and I don't speed in a school zone because
Jennifer Takagi:you never want to speed in a school zone for so many reasons.
Jennifer Takagi:Number one, you don't want to hit the kids, and number two,
Jennifer Takagi:you don't want a big old ticket. But I was like, you set your
Jennifer Takagi:cruise control, and you set your do your G like you did what you
Jennifer Takagi:do this all the time. I just thought it was for long trips,
Jennifer Takagi:and she goes, Oh yeah, it's so helpful. So now, I set my GPS
Jennifer Takagi:just about every time I get in the car because it is so good at
Jennifer Takagi:telling me if there's going to be a delay, if there is an
Jennifer Takagi:accident ahead, if there's construction ahead, I'm like,
Jennifer Takagi:okay. So I'm going to pick up my bestie Christie, and we're going
Jennifer Takagi:to go to an Oklahoma City Thunder basketball game. If you
Jennifer Takagi:don't follow. NBA Oklahoma City has a a professional basketball
Jennifer Takagi:team, and we're going to go to the game. And I said, I said the
Jennifer Takagi:GPS on my car, and I was like, all right, let's go.
Jennifer Takagi:And I'm driving down the street, and it says, and my GPS is Lola
Jennifer Takagi:after Robin Williams' GPS on the movie RV, and it was Lola said,
Jennifer Takagi:"Turn left at the next intersection, and I was like, "I
Jennifer Takagi:didn't write. I'm not turning. Go a little bit further. Turn
Jennifer Takagi:left at the next intersection. Not doing it. Like I'm going up
Jennifer Takagi:to the highway. I don't know why you keep telling me what to do.
Jennifer Takagi:Like this isn't right, and this little stretch of road-it's like
Jennifer Takagi:every block. Not a what did my friend tell me in New York City?
Jennifer Takagi:It could be a long city block or a short city block. These were
Jennifer Takagi:not long city blocks. These were like short city blocks, and I
Jennifer Takagi:was like, "This isn't right. This isn't right! I didn't turn.
Jennifer Takagi:I didn't turn. I didn't turn, and I get up to turn to get on
Jennifer Takagi:the highway, and Lola has been telling me for half a mile every
Jennifer Takagi:little block. Turn left. Turn left. I didn't. I didn't. I
Jennifer Takagi:didn't. I see nothing but a sea of red tail lights because
Jennifer Takagi:there's a wreck on the highway and nothing is moving, and now
Jennifer Takagi:I'm trapped because I'm in the left turn lane with a light, so
Jennifer Takagi:I have to turn. As it turns out, I stay on the service road, the
Jennifer Takagi:frontage road, and I bypass the accident. But Lola was telling
Jennifer Takagi:me all along, "You need to turn. You need to turn. And someone
Jennifer Takagi:said, "Well, how is that really helping with your intuition?
Jennifer Takagi:Like you had GPS and you were arguing with it. Yeah, I was. I
Jennifer Takagi:did not stop to ask myself why is she possibly telling me to
Jennifer Takagi:turn when I need to go up and get on the highway. I had this
Jennifer Takagi:little voice that said you should trust the GPS, and I
Jennifer Takagi:didn't listen. Fortunately, the ramifications were minimal. It
Jennifer Takagi:took me a little longer to get to where I was going. Other
Jennifer Takagi:times when you don't listen, it can have bigger consequences.
Jennifer Takagi:Like let's say don't date that person, or go ahead and break up
Jennifer Takagi:with that person, or it's okay and time to move on. And you
Jennifer Takagi:stay and you look up and it's been 30 years and you're still
Jennifer Takagi:there, right? Or you've had five kids and you're like, "Ooh, I
Jennifer Takagi:don't know how to afford getting out of this. Right, like we have
Jennifer Takagi:all these little hits that we don't necessarily follow up on.
Jennifer Takagi:I had a client say, "I don't really know how to do this,
Jennifer Takagi:like, and I said, "Okay, the next time you have a little idea
Jennifer Takagi:of do this, not that, do it and just see what happens. Like I
Jennifer Takagi:should grab my umbrella. Now there is a superstition if you
Jennifer Takagi:grab your umbrella, then it won't rain because you won't
Jennifer Takagi:need it. But there's another thing of ooh, it might rain. I
Jennifer Takagi:think I'm going to grab my umbrella, and then you have it,
Jennifer Takagi:right? Either way, it's a win-win. And this person had
Jennifer Takagi:been at the doctor's office, and there was a pharmacy in the same
Jennifer Takagi:building, and the doctor had typed in a prescription refill.
Jennifer Takagi:So my client left to go to his car after his appointment
Jennifer Takagi:because the prescriptions typically aren't ready, like
Jennifer Takagi:super fast in that pharmacy, so he crosses the threshold,
Jennifer Takagi:leaving the building, and he thought, "I'm going to turn
Jennifer Takagi:around and go back and check and see if my prescription's ready.
Jennifer Takagi:I think it might be, and that was like an intuitive hit. Like
Jennifer Takagi:I think it might be ready, and he turned around and he went
Jennifer Takagi:back in, and as he crossed the threshold, going back inside the
Jennifer Takagi:building, he got a notification: your prescription is ready. If
Jennifer Takagi:he hadn't paused, he would have been in his car and probably on
Jennifer Takagi:the on-ramp of the highway at that point, and then gone crap.
Jennifer Takagi:Now I've got to turn around and go back, and it's going to be a
Jennifer Takagi:thing. So it's little things like that that you can. I'm
Jennifer Takagi:going to use the word test kind of loosely here, but you can
Jennifer Takagi:practice with your intuitive skills. Oh, I think I should do
Jennifer Takagi:this instead of that. Most decisions that we make-I'm going
Jennifer Takagi:to say most and emphasize that-are not life or death.
Jennifer Takagi:Sometimes they are. That's a whole different thing. Start
Jennifer Takagi:practicing with the little things.
Jennifer Takagi:Ask yourself a question and then listen for the answer. Should I
Jennifer Takagi:go ahead and turn around and see if my prescription's ready?
Jennifer Takagi:Yeah, that feels kind of right. I think I'm going to do that.
Jennifer Takagi:Practice. Start listening a little bit more as you build
Jennifer Takagi:your intuitive skills and abilities, you can start
Jennifer Takagi:aligning that with what you really want to do, how you
Jennifer Takagi:really want to show up. You can connect that with your purpose
Jennifer Takagi:and have more clarity on how you want to show up in the world and
Jennifer Takagi:what you want to do. If it doesn't feel good and you don't
Jennifer Takagi:really want to do it, oh, maybe you shouldn't do it. Maybe you
Jennifer Takagi:shouldn't. But you've got that voice within, and you just need
Jennifer Takagi:to start practicing listening to that voice. You are destined for
Jennifer Takagi:way more success than you've ever dreamed possible. I'm your
Jennifer Takagi:host Jennifer Takagi, and I look forward to connecting with you
Jennifer Takagi:soon.
