Welcome to Destin for Success. I'm your

host Jennifer Takagi. Today we have a fun guest. We have

Elizabeth. I didn't even ask you how to say your last name. I'm

going to say Palowski. Oh, you got it. Oh, yay, yay! My mom

would be so proud. I have a degree in French and Spanish, so

she thinks I should be able to say things. I don't know, I

don't know why, but it's so good to see you, Lisbet. And I have

been in many of the same training sessions and workshop

rooms and stuff. So it's so good to have you on my podcast.

I'm honored to be here. Thank you.

Well, today we're going to talk about

mindset to magic, creating a life you love. Tell me more

because I'm into mindset, I'm into magic, and I'm into

creating a life you love. So you've hit all my main target

points.

Well, I have a whole framework for it, but

basically, it started out with a situation that was not so good.

We were really having like about two nickels to rub together to

our name, and didn't have family to call on. Too embarrassed to

contact neighbors and friends, and our water heater went, and

that's like $2,000. And I just started kind of calling to the

universe, asking for help. And this name kept coming to mind,

and I kept brushing it away, I'm like, no way, and his name kept

coming to mind, and it was an acquaintance of ours, definitely

not friend, someone we didn't really know that well. And

finally, I'm like, I have to do something, so I invited this

person over, partially under the guise of testing some

gluten-free baked goods that I was experimenting with, and even

when they were here, I was just sweating. And finally, I asked

them about potentially borrowing money. I came to find out that

not only were they open to it, but they were like a Robin Hood

of sorts, and had been loaning money to people in their

immediate community who were really poor and just would. And

they were doing it on on an ongoing basis. They were like a

little bank. Um. So I I was yeah gobsmacked, but it just it

started making me realize that we have help, we have guidance

from the universe or angels, whatever you want to call them,

and it can make life so much easier and fun. So that was that

was a big turning point because when you know I've always been

into the metaphysical but hadn't really used it like that.

That is just an amazing story. You just never

know where it's going to come From right,

yeah, yeah, and yeah. Since then, I have I

have found that changing the way you look at things, changing

your outlook, whether it's going into gratitude, whether it's

just thinking positively, can just really, really change your

life and change the opportunities that are around

you. Here's a silly little thing that I used to try. I would be

in the grocery store in Kohl's, and a sad song would come on the

overhead, and I am very empathic, and I would just like

almost be in tears. And I started saying like, "No, I'm

going to think about happy songs. I'm going to. I I want

happy music." And within like five minutes of determined

thinking, the music would change.

So the next song was a happy good one.

Yeah, yeah. And before that, it had been

like four in a row of these. Like my baby left me. What is

it?

Country music songs. My wife left me. The dog

died, and I'm out of beer. And if you play it backwards, I have

a full glass of beer. The dog's happy, and my wife's a content

person. Like maybe that's an Oklahoma thing. Play it

backwards. So I love that. Yeah, I want happy music.

Yeah, yeah. And so I think a lot of what we

do, if we change the way we think about things, and or we

tune into our intuition, the sides around us, and if you

believe in angels, the angels, it really makes for more flow in

your life and more magic, more fun. Oh my gosh,

I love that. So it started out. I mean, the how

do I want to ask this? So the shift in how you did it came

from kind of like a crisis mode of you needed a new water

heater, and then did that start you on a path of I'm gonna do

this more.

Yes, yes. I I used it. There was a point

around that same time where we couldn't get cable because our

cable company maintained that we owed them a couple of $100,

which I couldn't figure out how they were saying that. But they

wouldn't give us service again until we paid that, and we

didn't have it to pay. So I got really frustrated one day, and I

literally called out to the universe and said, "I need cable

now." Within 10 minutes, the doorbell rang, and it was a guy

from the only other cable company around who was going

door to door. We don't have this in our community, but he was

going door to door. We talked for like probably two and a half

hours at my door about everything from cooking and

recipes to to the problem at hand. He said, "I'm going to

talk to my boss, but I think I can get you something." I said,

"I'm not going to commit. I have to talk to my husband." He said,

"I'll come back at 6o'clock, which is in a few hours." I

thought, "Yeah, right." People who say that it's sort of like

I'm going to call you back in a couple of hours doesn't happen.

So anyway, I told my husband about it. Sure enough, the guy

came back at 6o'clock. He had a a special offer from his boss,

and we went with them for a little while. We didn't stay

with them, but it was enough to get us started.

You got the cable that you asked for.

Yes, yes. So yeah, you never know. I mean,

there's parking angels. I mean, we we went to it's an Ivy League

school that's within an hour of here, and they were having a

reunion weekend where 1000s, probably like in the five digit

1000s of people descend upon this little section, this two or

three-block area of this town, and we love going there. And I

wanted to go that weekend, but I did not realize the number of

people that would be there and the lack of parking and such.

And I had heard about a parking angel, and so about 10 minutes

beforehand, I asked for you know I pictured where I wanted to be.

We got that exact spot.

I love that. I didn't. I had not ever heard of

a parking angel, and I worked for the government in downtown

Oklahoma City, and every now and then we'd go to this restaurant

for lunch, and we'd pull up, and the parking lot is packed, and

every every time we pulled up, when I drove, there was a spot

right in front, and so somebody that I worked with would always

say, "Man, Jennifer's got a parking angel. She always gets

the best spots." So I go there a lot. It's I go there before

every single Oklahoma City Thunder game, and I I can only

think of two times when I didn't get to park right in front.

Sometimes on the front row, sometimes the netro over, but

that's still right in front. And my husband was driving one

night, and he goes, "Are we going to get a good parking

place? Because I'm driving. Like, does it still work just

because you're in the car?" It's like, "Yeah, I think it's going

to work." And sure enough, there's a place right in front,

and people get there five minutes after me, and they'll be

like, "How did you get to park there?" And I was like, "Yeah,

like I always get a good parking place." Yeah, I didn't know that

was a thing, and it is. And there's so much more abundance

out there that we don't even think about calling in or asking

for just to make our lives easier and more pleasurable.

Yeah, I mean, I've I've called on the angels

for helping me win things if it's for the highest good, harm

to none. I've I've called on them for. Helping me to get

business connections, and and sometimes I'll just ask in

general if I'm thinking about doing something. I'll ask, is

this you know a yes or a no? Try and get a sense, and I know you

do too.

Yeah, I do, but I want to hear your story. So,

if somebody is new to this, because like I have friends and

family in my world that would be like, "Man, that's just out

there. There's no way." So, do you have suggestions on how

somebody could get started in leaning into this idea of

angels, the universe of because there is so much more out there.

I think sometimes it just starts with

getting quiet. You know, we are. It is such a badge of honor

these days to be super busy, so busy that you can barely think.

And I think if you slow down, stop, and give yourself a moment

to be with your thoughts or just to clear your mind, you'll find

one of the things I do sometimes when I am really in a quandary

about something is, I will go vacuum because when I'm

vacuuming, I'm really focused on what I'm doing, and thoughts

will drop in. As like, oh, I I should teach about that, or you

know, oh, I should you know check this out, or oh, I need to

go pay that bill. I forgot about. So I think it's first

about getting quiet, and then to decide. Even if you're a

skeptic, you can totally tune into. I mean, when I started

with the angels, I was not one who believed in the angels. I

grew up where angels were tree toppers in terms of endearment,

but they were not something really in my world woo. In fact,

I even went to a spiritual expo once where they had these harps,

and to get to hear them, they they asked you if you believed

in angels, and I was like, yes, I didn't really. I wanted to

hear the music, so I would invite you, even as a skeptic,

to try out just either tuning into messages, thoughts that may

drop into your mind, and or to just saying aloud what you want,

and I always try to add this or something better and with harm

to none. But you may find yourself surprised. You really,

really may find yourself surprised, like the cable thing.

That was a total shock to me, and at a time when I didn't

really believe.

Well, and I people share stories of, well,

that refund was supposed to come anyway. It was just delayed.

Well, it's kind of interesting. It was delayed until the day you

really needed it to pay that bill, and if you had gotten it

three months ago when it was due, you know you may not have

it. You might have just blown it and not had it when you actually

needed it. But on the idea of angels, I've always believed in

angels. I'm a Christian. I was born on a Monday. My first time

in church was the next Sunday, but angels were something in the

Bible, and not something clear and present now. And so, it's

been very interesting in my last six-year journey of less

religious type study and more spiritual type focus of wow they

that heavenly host is truly there and it's still there it's

always been there and we have always had access to the whole

host of angels so very interesting and in all our

conversations I don't know that angels were your thing so that's

super fun for me to learn today.

Yeah, well, yeah, and you bring up a good

point. Is that angels are available to everyone? It's not

just for the Christians. It's not just for even those who have

a religion. They are available to anyone, as I understand it

now, no one's an expert, but you can just call on them out loud,

and I invite you to call on them, even when it's not

something dire. Just start playing with them and say, like,

angels show me a miracle. Today, you know, bring a fun experience

into my life today, but just say it out loud.

I was in a a class on angels several years

ago, and we talked about the different archangels and how

specific they are in how they operate, for lack of a better

term, and then we have personal angels that are only for us.

Like if we have a guardian angel, that that's over you and

nobody else. Like it's your personal angel, and I know

there's an angel for when you're sick or ill or healing, and I

never can remember the names. Like I did not commit them to

memory, and so I'll say, "I'm so sorry. I don't know which one I

need, but with the right one, please help me heal and recover

from this surgery." And

totally fine.

Yeah, I I'm sure it's more respectful to

have the proper name, but they know who you're talking about

and they know your heart. It's kind of like God knows your

heart or Allah or whatever you believe in, or your higher self.

You know, just call it whatever you want to call it. But I love

this, and I love you know the angels are there to serve us and

protect us and to help us and obviously do no harm to us. So I

love in your request you say or something better and no harm to

anyone. So that's super. That's I really

do try and sorry I I really do try and

remind um remember to thank Phil.

next step. Oh, this has been lovely. I love this, and I I

love this idea of we need to be quiet. We need to have a clear

mind. And when you said that you were vacuuming, I thought, oh

gosh, I guess I better pull my vacuum out. But I think one of

the fun things about a vacuum is you have that nice steady hum,

and then that calming vibration in your hand as you're as you're

moving the vacuum. So that's a super great one. I'm gonna have

to be more intentional when I pull out the vacuum. And even if

you're a skeptic, tune into the messages or thoughts, and say

aloud what you want, and I want that or something better with no

harm to none. That's so so important. And that thank you

piece. This has been just a really magical. Oh wait, that's

what we started with. Magical conversation. I'm so happy that

you were able to join today.
