When I actually took that powerful step forward to say, Yes, I am doing this Yes, I am standing in my truth, it was undeniable the impact that I could have in this world, because all of the brands that I thought would walk away from me, actually felt empowered to go on our next journey with me.
Okay, everyone, this is the day that you actually get to hear about something that I have been working on, I have been so excited to give you more details around. And when I open up to this incredible woman that's going to be on our show today, and have her share her story, her next version of relaunch, you're gonna realize why there is no doubt that when I went out, and I was looking for a partner, for this next relaunch, in the relaunch business with another brand, it had to be it had to be this one. And so I want to welcome Tori Archibald. She is the CEO of powerful steps. And she has been on the podcast before and it was when we actually got to meet each other. I was on hers, she was on mine. And we said, You know what, there's something here. And you often hear me talk about collaboration. And this is a global collaboration, that we're going to invite you to something so spectacular. But Tori, it is so exciting to have you on now after everything that we have been developing. I
am so excited to be here, Hilary and just for your audience as well. I want them to know that we've now met twice in person. So it's not just a virtual relationship. It's really a collaborative partnership, based on human connection, but also merging our teams together to create something really, really special. For all of those entrepreneurs out there are women exiting corporate, and asking themselves, what's next? How do I take that next powerful step and relaunch myself? Well, in what
you're saying here, the next powerful step and re launch into the next best version of you, and what they're really going for? Can you share with us this, this next version of you your business? And really the genesis and why you were like, so passionate about coming together and re launching into this next business venture?
Yeah, what a great question Hillary. So my first real launch was when I was 24 years old. So no one believed in my idea to become an entrepreneur. And I backed myself through the power of self belief. And I created a brand Communications Agency, which I ran for 20 years and through the power of human connection, but also, really understanding that a business as an entrepreneur is based on a really strong value, stare, intention, purpose, I managed to attract the world's top performing retail brands, celebrities and influencers had an incredibly successful business. And in fact, my last three clients were American. So I launched Victoria's Secret into Australia, Steve Madden, who a lot of people refer to as the billion dollar Shoe Man, and Drew Barrymore's Flower Beauty. But I was 44 years old. And Hillary, I got into the top of my game, I've been responsible for some of the biggest retail launches in Australian history. But also I taken Australian brands into the US, the UK, Asian and European markets. And I just was, I was at that point where I was stuck. And I thought to myself, What if I didn't sell my business? What if I walked away from this business? But what if I use the proven frameworks that I had created myself, but I actually transform them into a business for women to rebrand and as you say, relaunch themselves what would happen? And I always say it was a gift from the universe, because after drew left Australia, and she got her talk show in America, a big article came out in Marie Claire magazine around my story of success and survival. And it was the first time that I actually anchored who I was to my truth. And what that did was it gave me a sense of freedom in my heart, and then COVID hit. So I really had the time to think about what this next journey would look like. Who did I want to help? But most importantly, what community did I want to build to support me on this? So I ran launched myself for the second time, our body four years of age, I started powerful steps. And we have managed to create the most extraordinary impact with women because They've actually been able to stand in their truth. But with a community of like minded people, they've been able to actually reach their goals and their ambitions in record time. So the next relaunch for me was an obvious one, I wanted to bring the community that we've built in Australia into a global market, which is where you come into it and her world International, because what we're doing is we're emerging high vibrational women that know that they've got something more to give, but they want the community to be able to tap in, to lean in, learn and grow. And they know that they're not necessarily going to get that support from agencies, but they're going to get that support from each other as they build out their team that platform, their product or their service. So that's how we got to be here today.
So Tori, why do you think it is so important, as you say, lean in learn and grow? And this idea of community, is this a new concept community? Or is it something that we literally are taking, and it's kind of groundbreaking, the approach that we're starting to create work? Tell us a little bit more about this?
I think it's a great question. Because community, there are so many memberships out there to join a community to be seen, and in a room full of people to create and deliver impact. But what I've noticed is a lot of these communities along the highway of life, a built on ego, I want to build roll, I want to promotion, I want to be heading up a billion dollar business, like it's all around how people are perceived out there. But what I saw and I know you've seen it as well is there's a true opening for people that don't want to be a part of that materialistic ego led world. They're quite comfortable in their own skin, yet they know that they have more to give. And so a community based on heart led leadership actually attracts right? The jaw is naturally open, the opportunities naturally align when you're in the room with other people who understand the power of who they are. But they don't have to shout it to the rooftops, they're comfortable in their own skin, because they've owned all the parts of their story like the good, the bad, and the ugly. And I want to give an example here, because, you know, I was running a PR company for many, many years. And a lot of people saw me and said, you know, glamorous, PR powerhouse, attracting all of these incredible people into my life. But actually, behind the scenes, there was a lot of trauma going on. And it wasn't until I actually owned that ugly part of my story. And I actually stepped forward, that I recognized that I was not alone. But while I was leading that business, and a lot of people will understand this as well, when they're in a high profile role. And they have a big team. And you know, they're leveraging millions of dollars on behalf of other people for you know, significant growth in businesses. They don't want to actually share the truth of what's going on.
Isn't that the truth, actually,
as an entrepreneur that is single handedly the most powerful tool to attract other like minded people, because what I learned when I stepped forward was, I'm not alone. You're not alone. We have all had success and survival. And so when you actually come into a high vibrational community of like minded women who are not afraid to share their ugly parts of the story as well, there's a certain truth that you bring to the table. But there's also a willingness to understand the power of a mutual exchange of energy. How can I help you now? And what would I like to receive in return, and it doesn't have to be a monetary exchange, it has to be an energetic exchange. And that's the kind of community that I'm looking to build with you Hillary is that women from all around the world can feel it lean into that magnetic energy. So no matter where they are, they walk into a room, people want to get to know them. But most importantly, people want to help each other to make the world a better place. No matter what business they have. It's all about what's that legacy? What's that growth piece? And how can I help you get there?
You know, what's fascinating story is that recently, I put something on LinkedIn that was very heartfelt, very vulnerable about my business and that it was the first time I didn't just want the persona of like, oh, everything as you're saying on the outside, everything is looking great. And it really wasn't so I decided you know what, I'm just doing it. What have you seen cuz I know that one of the things when I first met you I was so drawn to you, because you you have such a rawness about yourself, you're willing to go and you uncover stories so well. And you know, that's part of what you really love to do as well. How do you put yourself out there in that very vulnerable way right now that allows you to be vulnerable, but still powerful?
It's a good question, because it's what I teach women and I will also be sharing this wisdom for the community of her world International. So, you know, my career was based creating and navigating a way forward, for people to share their story, then I had to look at my own story. And I think when we get to that point in midlife, which you know, 40s 50s 60s, which is really where more millionaires and billionaires are birth, right, as female entrepreneurs, those businesses are birth because the women take the time to actually own their story. So I actually had to own the truth of who I was. And the hardest thing when you ask, how do I show up, I remember when I did my three page feature with Marie Claire magazine, and it went viral. And it was a truth of what was going on behind the scenes, it actually took me four months to make the decision to share that, because I was so vulnerable, I was so scared of being judged. I was so scared, you know, is my business going to collapse? Like, you know, this is a business that provides for my family, and I was a single mom. So what I recognized was when I actually took that powerful step forward to say, Yes, I am doing this Yes, I am standing in my truth. It was undeniable the impact that I could have in this world, because all of the brands that I thought would walk away from me, actually felt empowered to go on our next journey with me. And I think for any woman out there listening to this podcast, chat with us today, it's really deep dive into who you are. You know, where were you when you grew up? What did you want to become? What would Zack career highlight? What was that game changing moment? But most importantly, what are the patterns that you had to break to become the woman that you are today, to stand in your truth and your power, and the more you understand that you're not alone on that journey, the more easier it is to show up. And, you know, I am very bright and very vulnerable, especially on social media now. And it's kind of crazy, because I grew up with a network of media, all around the world in my 20s 30s, and 40s. And I had, this media journalist reached out to me the other day, and she was used to hunting me down for celebrity interviews, which were my clients. And she wrote me a very personal message. And she said, I haven't spoken to you in a few years. But I just want to tell you, the way you share your journey, and the way you show up has not only inspired me, it's inspired a lot of the journalists that you worked with at news lab. Tory, there you go. Yeah. Like, comment and engage on everything. But what they do do is they look, they watch, they lean in they listen, they learn. So why wouldn't you show up and share your key learnings to help someone else? It's like a no brainer. Well,
and you know what, that's where I want to go now with this is the understanding of people have a tendency to, well, I'm in this I'm doing this, this is what I had set my intention to be this is my direction, and they think collaboration, how am I really going to pull that off, and then they say, global collaboration, which is what you and I are doing with her world International. And I think people get overwhelmed with how will this continue me on my path versus potentially taking me off in a new direction. And I know you and I have a very unique approach with that, that it doesn't have to take you off. But it only adds more can you share more of the vision behind her world International, and the collaborations that we fully intend to have with the women that are going to be in the room?
I think by simply showing up on social media, you already have a global footprint. So if the people thinking that they've only got a local footprint, I want to call bullshit on that. Because you're already global. Because I could be in Paris tomorrow and Google your name and your global because I'm actually finding out about you while I'm in Paris, right? So I don't think just because you believe that you're just servicing a small market, you can have global impact. Collaboration is so important and the way you show up and you share your stories and navigate people into your business, whether it's consulting, whether it's product or service, it does come back to the power of your story. Because what I've learned is when you take people on a journey, you can touch the hearts and the minds of people, no matter where you are. I'm gonna give you two examples. So in the last week, I've had one lady reached out to me from Sweden. I asked her, How did you find me? And she said, I've heard you on a podcast from a wellness retreat called camellia, which is a multi award winning wellness retreat that I've been to, which literally transformed my life. She listened to me on a podcast, she bought the book. And now she says, How can I become involved in your community that's in Sweden, I'm in Sydney. Second one happened two days ago, a lady from London got up really early, had a podcast with me at 5pm. On Monday night, and again, I said to her, how did you hear from me? And she said, I've been watching your journey online from afar. And she said, we've actually got a lot in common. I said, What's that? And she said, I build my own PR company. I've got 15 staff. She's been going for 25 years. And I said, Well, what what's your focus? And she said, newzik, I said, Oh, you realized that I started out my career at MTV, London. And she said, that's why I followed the journey. Now, if I hadn't shared with her, my experiences working in MTV, she would not have come on the journey. And now her new business model is around self belief which links into my book. So she's now that I just
happen. I just happen to have a copy right here self belief is your superpower. Yes. And so, so much of what you put in here is, you know, you we talked about the your your power steps to your relaunch. And as you're continuing this, I want you to share her world International, right? Yeah, it is. It's really a next step for both your brand and my brand. It really is. Yeah, it's like the culmination of the best of all worlds, and we're leaving behind all the stuff we didn't want to do. It's the greatest, it's the greatest colab in the world. But if you were to say, what are you really hoping for, with her world international for people that are listening right now? What would you want them to have as their takeaway?
I want that lady in Sweden, and that woman in London, who I know is going to join us in Santa Monica later this year to say yes to being in a room full of people that are going to elevate them to the next part of their career. But most importantly, be in a room with people that have passion and purpose. And it goes back to the point where is when you show up online, you can attract people from all around the world. But the most powerful tool that you can give is to get them all together in a room to create and deliver impact by actually asking each other how can we help you and giving the framework giving them the toolkit. So by simply showing up, you are attracting an energy of these high vibrational entrepreneurial women from all around the world that want to actually tap into who you are and what you have to give. So it doesn't matter whether you're, you know, someone that has a PR company in London that focuses on music, you probably completely networked with these incredible podcasters, TV networks, etc. You come in the room in Santa Monica, and you say, you want your business to have a profile in London, here's how I can help you. But then you're gonna say to her, how can I help you crack this market? Yeah. So it's being in the room and saying to people, this is my gift. This is my network, how that relates to their business, but also how their business relates to your business, is what we're trying to bring together with her world International, which is the number one reason why we're collaborating, right? It's to create and deliver global impact.
I've never been more excited about a project than this one. Because I can story I know. I have no doubt. You know, we talk like minded we talk like energy of where we are going to be taking this. And we always talk about entrepreneurship being one of the most lonely, lonely positions out there. What do you say about how collaborations connection can help with that?
Oh, well, you know, I love a good coffee date. And I know about that, can you? Can you
just share a little bit those that haven't heard on the last podcast? I did. Tell us about coffee dates.
Yeah, so coffee dates is actually going to form part of our world international community because we're going to be speed dating on the first you know the first time
right I'm Tori is that you have speed dates, this coffee date, and I am a Certified International matchmaker, you know, crazy, crazy, you know, hobbies that we have uncovered about each other. And we're bringing this together to really have everybody very quickly get to know each other in a very intimate way. So, love that. So yes, can you keep sharing what it really means? Yes, I
started my first business at 24. And I could not afford to take people to lunch. And so the advice was coffee, not lunch, right. And each laughs like we help each other. So I didn't have a database, I had nothing. But what I had was a manifestation board of the brands, the people and the media that I wanted to connect with to create this global business, which obviously, I manifested into reality pretty quickly, through this framework. Every week, I had a coffee date with someone I knew someone I wanted to partner with, and someone completely outside of my comfort zone. And I've been doing that for over 20 years now, whether it's a virtual coffee day, because you know, anywhere in the world, you can copy date, as long as you've got a zoom function or whatever, you know, FaceTime, whatever it is WhatsApp, or human connection in person. So every week and my husband's like, you are so crazy to me, but I love it. I opened myself up to for new people to book in for coffee dates with me because I just love learning from other people and seeing how they're stuck at a crossroad. But how I can unlock that block and connects them with other people. But then people say to me, Well, what do I do when I show up for a coffee date? If I don't know someone there on the other side of the world? Well, you and I and Hillary are gonna get really clear on messaging. In one sentence, how do you introduce yourself? Yeah. And that when we speak date in Santa Monica is going to be the most powerful because we have 40 women in the room, who are all going to understand the power of connection that you know, coffee date framework, but they have to say who they are in 60 seconds what they have to give, and what they would like to receive. And that's
the best part. We're not telling you how you're going to do it. But there is a formula that we have used, we know it, we're going to share it with everyone. We're not sharing it now because you got to be in the room. You had a really awesome vision. When we first came together to say, let's make this event very unique. And you and I both love, don't put me in a room day after day after day. Do something that is exclusive can. Can you share a little bit about your vision around that and really how it's evolved? Yeah,
I think you know, let's just rewind here for a second. I hate doing things where people feel boxed, and I know you're exactly the same. I mean, I was the first one to do a fashion parade on top of the Queen Mary two. I mean, it was crazy. And then they replicated that concept around the world. Like we want to do things which people go, Wow, I really want to be there. So for us, you know, we're hosting in a vise or a hotel. And we've got Sugar Palm who are incredible restaurant tours, creating an outdoor experience on the first night to get everyone together at the vise right now the bikes, right? We didn't just pick it because it was the viceroy. I happened along my journey. And I know you have as well stay there so many times and we love it. We absolutely love it. So it was an energy matchbox. So we'll be doing the cocktail party the first night there, then we'll be spending the day there on day one. Then that night, we've actually hired out the IV in Santa Monica, which I am so excited about because every time I go to LA whether it's West Hollywood or Santa Monica, I always go in there for their amazing salads and their pawn pastor.
I can't wait. And then the next day do I want to tell you before we go on, I have to tell you something super interesting. So you knew I grew up in LA. And that was a restaurant that was always the, you know, it's the shishi it's the scene and be seen. It's like, it never goes out of fashion. It's always like the greatest place. And guess what happened yesterday, my daughter Rosie is about to graduate from USC. And she said mom, I would love Is it at all possible. I'll give up dinners. Can we do a brunch at the IV oh my gosh, that's so perfect. Because it is still such an iconic it's one of those that you know, it's like French Laundry. It just keeps getting better and better. And so I knew you I knew you would love that. So we are actually li in three weeks going to have another event there. So leave it on
and have a mimosa for me.
The champagne girl, believe me, then we also have one other venue that is truly exceptional. Can you share with us that
one we do. So I think between you and I, we've got this little black book of connections where we want you to give back to the 40 women in the room and experience well, it's kind of like a money can't buy experience, because not everyone can afford a membership to an exclusive club nowadays, let's face it, right. But the Jonathan club, we are hosting on the final day in the penthouse, and incredible workshop, photo shoot and of course, hop, champagne celebration, and
champagne.
So I think, you know, three different venues, three very different experiences, because we didn't want to create something, which was cookie cutter. And I always say that if you can envision something that is bigger and better and impactful, and memorable, people will always want to come back because our hope is that the people that join us at this first event will come on the journey with us for the next three years. Because as you said on my podcast chat this morning, this really is a three year journey for the entrepreneurs that come into our orbit, we really want to connect everyone, we want people to be partnering together. But most importantly, we want to help you accelerate your growth. By relaunching you the right way with the right support with a community that understands that heart based leadership, not ego based leadership is what delivers in you know, creates the best results.
Well, thank you so much for being on today. And as a last bet for a woman who is listening right now or for a man who says I've got a gal who needs to be in the room. What would you share with them as a signing off right now of why they don't want to miss out.
Trust in yourself that it's a yes or no after listening to this podcast, if it's a yes, take action straightaway, because we know that this is going to sell out. But most importantly, know that there's nothing to be afraid of when you get in a room full of incredible women. There is only love, there is only laughter. There may be a little bit of tears along the highway of life. But that outcome of saying yes to this will definitely transform your life in ways that you never thought were possible. And we just look forward to welcoming you from the 15th to the 17th in Santa Monica for her wild International. Tourists
Archibald, thank you so much for being here and powerful steps plus relaunch equals her world International and we are so excited to be launching this next adventure venture together. And if you have been following Tori, if you have been following Hillary to Caesar relaunch, you know, part of our magic is when we get people together and what we can create. So everyone look forward to having you be a part of this. Check it out. You can go to her world International and sign up. Don't miss it. Don't miss it because it will definitely sell out. Everyone. We'll see you next week for another incredible conversation
I love it. Thank you.
Thank you
