You Can Do Something About Stress

On today’s episode, Carla Jansen van Rosendaal shares how stress management needs to be a holistic approach that is based on your particular areas of stress. Carla uses the Life-Mind Scan, a scientific approach that is used in many companies and countries in Europe. This scan uses Metavital Human Expert technology to measure energy. It incorporates physical, emotional, mental, and spiritual health and how areas of energy flow or blockages can be detected that indicate stress. This information is used to create a customized plan to move from stress to balance. 

We discuss how individuals often find themselves in stress and burnout that leads to health issues and a lack of ability to be present for those in their life, including their children. Carla shares her journey to becoming healthy again, including her training in becoming a Heartcoherence Coach, Life-Mind Creation Coach, and Being in Balance Coach.

Years after my divorce (unexpected) I went through burnout for the third time. I ignored the first 2 since having 2 kids who needed extra attention, I thought I could not take the time to work on this. But with the 3rd one, I realized I had to admit I had stress and had to start working on real stress reduction. I did it in a way that I got out of my burnout within 1.5 months. That was the start of my own company as a coach in stress reduction. I learned more and more about stress, the influence of thought, and brain training. Nowadays that’s what I work with. I trained more than 7000 people (Police, companies, high-level schools, entrepreneurs) with great results. Making my way now to the USA. I lived in the USA for 6 years with a lot of fun and loved the people.

Are you ready? Let's get the shift started. Hi, and we're so happy you're here for another episode of the D shift. And today I have somebody that I have just recently met, but boy, does she have an impact on my life already. Her name is Carla Jansen, Van Rosendaal. And Carla has an amazing tool that she uses with people. I'm not going to get too far into this. I want her to explain it. But Carla is a life mind coach, a heart coherence coach, and a being in balance coach, and she does really amazing work with people who are dealing with stress. So Carla, thank you so much for being on the day shift today.

Carla Jansen van Rosendaal:

Yes, I'm just happy to be here. Mardi.

Mardi Winder-Adams:

Wonderful, wonderful. Well, you got so many interesting titles. Tell us a little bit about why stress is such a factor in your life and why this is kind of your area of expertise. And then I would I would love to kind of go into how you help people manage stress. So let's start. Let's start with the introduction stuff first. So tell us a little bit about yourself, Carla.

Carla Jansen van Rosendaal:

Well, I fell in love. I'm Dutch. That's that's the first thing. I'm from the Netherlands in Europe. And I didn't live in the States for like, six years. So I have part of my heart is still there. And that's also one of why I want to work with American people again. So I just love their vibes and their other. It's a different way of going around with life and communication. So I love that. And I did a lot of traveling around the world. And then I finally settled down in the in the Netherlands again. And I had my story that when I had my pregnancy for my first child, I ended up in a wheelchair with pelvic problems. And I was home for like eight years in total. In those eight years. Four years after that started, I was my son was born. Two and a half months after the birth of my son, there was an other baby born, turned out that the father was my husband's. So we ended up with a divorce he left us and that's where my survival mode started to work. Like, oh, gosh, I need to take care of hadn't worked for a long time. So I thought well on disability care, I cannot have a good life for my kids. So I decided to start studying so I can be my own half my own business. And turned out he had two kids with a autism disorder. So I didn't sleep for six years in a row, like three hours a night. And I just kept going and going. And you can imagine what happened. I went into burnouts, once, twice, three times. The third time I thought like I need to do something else, then just take it easy. What's been said a lot of times take it easy. I have a background as a nurse for 20 years and a also as a by energetic therapist, which is a psychotherapist working with the body as well. And I just didn't get why did I go into a burnout. I knew better I thought but you know, I fell in my own trap. And I just was there. So I thought I need to do more. And that's where heart coherence came on my path. And I was like ready to grab everything. My head was like, Oh, my buddy was like, Ah, I didn't want that no more. Besides that I could be there for my kids. You cannot be there for your kids. If you have to do it by yourself and you are in the middle of burnout, you cannot be there and I did not want that. So I was so motivated to get out of that. And I started doing the exercises, did that like every day three times for half an hour morning, afternoon and evening. And in a very short time, I started to feel like so much better. And I've started to relax. After after a lot of years that I thought I would be relaxed in between now I discovered that was no real relaxation. So I got to know that one again. And the most surprising thing was that one and a half month after I started, I was completely out of my burnout. And I was kinda like that's not possible. And usually it's like one to two years and I wanted to figure out how is that possible? So I did the education for that I was trained a coach I did all my study for that. And certainly the education and the heart coherence, and I just Maori, I was kind of surprised like how that all works together the mind, the body, the hormones, the heart, everything and how easy it is to use that working together and the heart to reduce stress, the exercises were so easy. And I thought, like, you know, if I can do this, and I can be out of a burnout in two and a half of one and a half month, I need to tell other people and teach other people this. So that's how I started my job to like in 2011, to be a trainer coach in the heart coherence lecture and about 7000 It's more than 7000 people like the whole police force with a whole team, even in volunteer. And I learned a lot more and more educated myself. And that's how I also came to work with that scan that you were experience, which is in the USA, still completely new. I'm trying to get that also to the USA and even start to educate people that in the near future, we hope we can do that. Because that is the most amazing tool there is because it it sees the the energy of the whole body, whether it's in or out balance, and it connects where it's out of balance. It connects it to one belief out of what period of your life is at this moment active and blocking you is getting you into in to a burn out what foods is there a cause what radiation and where is radiation? Of course. So and in the coaching, I mean, I don't need like 10 sessions to get to know each other or to try to go to the bottom of core problem. But I do that right away with the skin scan does it for me, that's my dependents objective. I mean, it's it's 50 years of science. So I'm here in Holland, in Germany, it's medical approved. So that's how I ended. I mean, quantum that's the whole thing is energy. I was so surprised that all works together when it comes down to stress. And the main problem is that people don't feel stress anymore. I mean, how did I get three times in a burnout thinking I was doing okay.

Mardi Winder-Adams:

Yeah, yeah, I think we just get we're like the what do they put a frog in the water and slowly heat it up, and it doesn't even realize it. And that's exactly what we are. We're under so much stress that we don't realize it. And that's when I was talking to a friend of mine who just got back from a she took a month long sabbatical. And she did some traveling. And so she came back and she was so relaxed. And the very next day she walked into her office within an hour. She had a What's that TMJ, she started having TMJ problems. She had a headache. The next day, she had like a rash. And I'm like, That's how fast stress can go back off you. You know when you actually have never went? Yeah, you're right. You're right. Yeah, it was just lowered down.

Carla Jansen van Rosendaal:

Yeah, I love that example, Marty. Because that's what people think, Oh, my vacation. Is there. Um, okay. Yeah, it does not reduce stress, it's relaxation. And most people think that relaxation is stress reduction in your body. It's not, it's a complete different reaction, the Heart Math Institute in California, they did like 30 years of research is still doing that. That's where heart coherence comes from, too. And they did find out literally in the body, that it's so much research there that really the reaction in your body of all your systems is so much different on relaxation than on stress reduction. And that's why people can have like a month long vacation and everything. They go back and bam. Like you said, within an hour, it's all back. So yeah, that's your main message for people to know,

Mardi Winder-Adams:

what's your definition or your working definition? With the with the training that you've done? How would you define stress then? Because I think most people see it as being busy all the time, but that's not what you're talking about at all. So

Carla Jansen van Rosendaal:

no, usually when I ask people, can you explain stress they they either tell me the symptoms or they tell the stress sores, two reasons they get stressed. Stress basically is nothing else then how you react to a situation. What story do you have in your mind on a certain situation? And usually we make the negative story We make like, oh, this happened to me, Oh my gosh. And they tell it again and they go like, Oh my gosh. And they don't realize by repeating it that way. And other people even say like, oh, gosh, that's bad for you. They make it worse, the problem gets bigger. And that's because of all the hormones, how they work in your body. Fear gets in the way of fear grows. And that's why a problem grows. So it's nothing else. How do you react on a situation? We always have a choice, even though people a lot of times take Oh, yeah, but my situation is so bad. I do not have that choice. Yes, she do.

Mardi Winder-Adams:

You know, that's the first thing that is the first thing that I hear when people are really emotionally overwhelmed. Whether it's divorce, or loss of a job, or loss of a loved one or financial problems. That is the number one thing I hear people say, I don't have any options. And I'm like, holy cow. Yes, you do. You have the option to talk to me about this right now. I think there's there's 1000s of options. So So I wonder if because I know that this scan the life mind scan is not used in the United States, but it is used like you say, in Germany, in Holland, I'm sure in other places in Europe. So. So I've done this scan. So I want to tell people, This is not some fill in the checkmark box gaze into a crystal ball and some kind of information comes out. I mean, when when Carly does the scan with you, it takes it took us about a couple of hours to go through it. And it's literally pictures of your body like the internal, like anatomical pictures, not your body personally, but the human body. And then it indicates like where there are areas of stress, like in the kidneys, in the lungs, in, in the throat in the jaw, like everything. And it's it's those, it looks like a medical school textbook images, and then it's got your individual stress things, and some of them are good. Like I had lots of good ones, I was pretty happy about that. But it also shows some where there's more stress in the body. So tell us a little bit about that whole scan, because it's really cool. Because it's, it's tangible. It's not something you know, that's hard to grasp your head around because you literally walk people through what each one of those images represents. So tell us a little bit about that.

Carla Jansen van Rosendaal:

Well, yeah, well, this scan measures energy. I mean, everything's energy, you are energy I am even my phone is energy. And they all have different frequencies, like radio, I mean, just turn the knob or your phone is not another anymore. Remember Old Time Radio? version two. Okay. But yeah, I mean, during the channel, you have different music, and all it is you turn it made it a different frequency, everybody can relate to that. And even thoughts are our frequencies. And the scan, it has a headphone. And that sends out the right frequencies. I mean, there is a box that has like 1000s of data in there, like the liver cell has that frequency number, the heart still has that number. And it measures it from your body, how the frequencies are, and it can see exactly, and that's what you see on the screen what you mentioned, you see on the screen exactly like there, it's a little bit out of energy there, it's really great. And there, it's really, really most of energy that's even possible. And that might even lead up to disease. And then when we look at that one picture, it's either the head or the torso, or the lever doesn't matter. That's where we dive into the scan, search for more information, where we search for the beliefs, what beliefs are, what time of your life, are out of balance, also making that energy out of balance, and they are actually blocking you. And a lot of people know but not everybody that we actually live our life. From 90% of unconscious beliefs. We are only about 10% we are conscious. So the 90% is the biggest one. And that's why we sometimes have behavior that we think like why do I do that? I don't even like it. Or why do I react like spontaneously then that way it all has to do with beliefs. And we just don't know him and that's the problem. So how can you solve that problem if you don't know what the problem is? And that's where therapy and psychology is and all kinds of therapy. They search for those problems while the scam takes them out like that, you know how fast that was the scan itself takes couple of minutes. And then we walk through the different pictures and we search in every picture. Hey, is there radiation going on? That is a problem. Is there a food additive? That's a problem? And what are the beliefs? What are the psycho emotional patterns that you're in that you don't even realize?

Mardi Winder-Adams:

And, oh, I'm sorry, I didn't mean to go out. I was gonna say the thing that I found so interesting about it is because I have one of the great things about doing my podcast is I get to meet all these old practitioners and all these unique and groundbreaking kind of programs. But then I also work with people that are dealing with like ancient Chinese medicine, and they were talking about energy balances in the body work, the whole Chinese medicine thing is creating a harmony between the size of the energy flow through your body. That's what, you know, the chakras are all about as creating that flow of energy. Right. So it's, it's new, because it's, it's modern, it's technical. It's pinpointed. But it's based on the ties in with not, it's not based on Please forgive me, it ties in with all these other areas of learning as well. That's what I found was so fascinating. And I haven't, I have to say this though, Carla, and I'm cutting you off. But one of the things that I found was fascinating. I'm not going to tell people what it is because it's something that's deeply personal to me. Carla pinpointed something that she would have no way of knowing about my history. And she nailed it like on the very first one. And when I told her what it was, and it has to do, I'm not going to I'm not shy about this. It has to do around an adoption, I was adopted. Carla's scan picked that out. Like that was the very first thing that came out that I have this sense of, I'm just going to share it I'm not embarrassed. But I had this sense of being rejected. And that that was a pattern deep, deep in deep in my my thinking and believing. And she told me it happened in the first part of my life, and then very, very early infancy, and it had something to do with my mother. That's how specific this was. And Carly did not know anything. She did this. It was fantastic. Okay, I'd say doesn't know,

Carla Jansen van Rosendaal:

because I don't have actually I don't even want to know anything. So I can stay objective. The scan is objective. I mean, this has been used in the cosmonaut programs. Because it is science, it's science base, it has like so much research of 1000s of 1000s of people or research to, to get all this data together to connect the dots. Let's say that way, energy dare means that that problem. And it's it's amazing. And we call it as quantum technology and quantum it gets more and more normal. A lot of people think like, oh, it's all woowoo. It's not, it's like heart coherence. They think like, oh, you get this, like a sort of meditation is Oh, that's woowoo it's not, it's also science based. I mean, you can also the heart theories, you see everything on the screen, where stress is in the heart, and you can see it doing exercises, how it reduces instantly, right. So working that together because that's not a point, I want to say, have mentioned point out whatever it is that a lot of people think that we I forgot my water want to say that's nice.

Mardi Winder-Adams:

Because I just went off on that chair a little.

Carla Jansen van Rosendaal:

You got me out of balance. Sorry. So we think that a lot of times that our thoughts are not a big deal. But actually the way we think and that is also introduced by by your commitment of now your beliefs. Your thoughts, give a certain feeling. Okay, thanks. Something nice, you feel good, same thing, something not nice, you don't feel good. The way you feel. changes your heart rhythm. It goes from regular to irregular, whether it's a good or a nice feeler feeling, the way your heart rhythm is regular and or irregular, gives a message to the brain and tells the brain you have to put the body in a stress reaction or in a relaxing reaction. So it starts with the thoughts and most of them are unconscious. And it ends up with a stress reaction. And a lot of people think like all is Whoa, Whoa, it's so stupid and things like that. They don't realize Eyes, even their stress is high. And this woowoo is science based. They did so many tests, that if we do certain things like that, that's the result. They did blood tests at AEGs, EKGs. I mean, the whole thing. So people need to realize that we don't feel stress anymore. And that's where we say like, No, I'm okay. That's okay. We literally are so used to stress and the adrenaline we basically can say, we are adrenaline addicted. Yeah. And that's what people say, like, oh, no, I love my word. No, I love to do it so much time. And I do with extra, because it's so great. Yeah, just ask them to sit on a chair and do nothing. They gotta go Oh, like that they can have. And that is that there are so many symptoms that we don't see as symptoms. And even if we see them, we kind of like now I don't, I don't want them to get them in debt, get them out of the picture.

Mardi Winder-Adams:

Well, and they're still to recognize that adrenal fatigue now is is really a thing, right? And we actually had a guest on here that speaks specifically to women about Adrenal Fatigue and how devastating that can be to all systems in your body. How can mess up make menopause way worse, all kinds of stuff. So yeah, yeah, big picture. So Carla, I can go on about this scam, because I love it. But I really want to talk about the next step that you take with your people because your your services don't just end with here's a scan, here's like literally 20 Page printout report that you get from food, you foods that are good foods that are neutral foods that you should avoid, to try to bring your energies back into balance. And then, but tell us what you do after the scan. That's that's the interesting part. I think for lots of people as well.

Carla Jansen van Rosendaal:

Yeah, the scan is a lot of insights. And a lot of people say like, No, I have all these insights, I'm okay, well, insights don't change your system. They don't change your behavior, they don't change how you feel nothing. It's about what are you going to do after that and like, you know, you get a few tips with that scan. So you can do a little a couple of things already, like the food list and stuff like that. The main thing is we need for the first step that I take with my people is to get their stress down. And that's where I use the heart coherence score. They have a sensor, I always make sure when I worked with them, that they get the sensor where the heart rhythm is measured. And it's not like so many beats per minute, it's a special way of measuring it does. And first, we need to get that stress level down. Because a lot of people want to work and change things while they are in stress. Well, people when you're in high level stress, your brain is not completely functional. It does not get enough food and oxygen to be functional. So how can you change everything? And try to do that with power and self confidence, etc. If your brain is not working with you. So to reduce stress is always the first step. And then we got to look at the scan, like what's all there on what kind of beliefs things like that, and then we start working on beliefs. And yeah, we do the scan regular, because then we can see what is going on with all that energy, what kind of beliefs? Are they getting lower? Is our energy getting better? Is the food working things like that, all that information? And yeah, it's a couple of months, because trying to change behavior is not done in a week, right? And that has to do how it works in the brain, we literally have neural, or they say that connections, which are automated behaviors. So to change that you really need like, three to six months at least, right? To change it to actually change it in your brain. Most people cannot do that by themselves. They need a somebody who keeps him accountable. Who tells them or not tell them but together you discover like what is really going on? What is my block? How can I change it, then keep it up to to change it continuously. And that is a process. It's a process. But man, wow, whatever these people experience while I mean you will have after one scan already had a huge experience. Imagine what that does. If you do that for four or six months.

Yeah, yeah. And I can definitely see the power in it. Absolutely. Yeah. Yeah.

Carla Jansen van Rosendaal:

It's a huge I mean, we had, like, Philips is like a huge concern that a lot of people know, we had like the top people, we haven't been scanned. With the police like top people, we have men to scan a lot of companies here, huge companies that in the top, you work with the scan. And they really have results of getting better, not only getting stressed down, but really changed their behavior, their way of thinking everything. And that way in their work in their work gets a lot better, too

Mardi Winder-Adams:

well. And that's the whole thing. And we're almost out of time here. But when people's stress levels come down their creativity, their problem solving, your ability to see outside the box, you can you can access all that. But when you're so stressed out, all you can do is just keep going straight ahead. You can't you can't deal with all this stuff

Carla Jansen van Rosendaal:

is literally a laser focus, you only see one thing but nothing else. And we need the whole picture we do.

Mardi Winder-Adams:

Yeah, absolutely. So we have covered a whole bunch of information. I say this at the end of every podcast, and I keep because I keep thinking, Man, I wish we can go for another hour because there's so much more I'd like to learn about this. But Carla, what do you think is the most important thing you would like people to remember from our conversation today?

Carla Jansen van Rosendaal:

I think the utmost thing is that people start realizing that stress is there. We are 90% of the time in a stress reaction without knowing it. And it reduces our health, our relationships, our work, everything, and it makes us really sick. So realize that it's there, acknowledge it. Don't be shy. I know it's still a taboo to talk about stress. But 90% of 70% of the people in the US. I mean, it was written down. They feel anxiety and stress every day. So realize you can do something about it. Admit you have it and do something about it.

Mardi Winder-Adams:
