On Your Own But Not Alone

On Your Own But Not Alone

Today, I am joined by Penny Fisher, an author and speaker. Penny recounts her experience of battling a mysterious and severe illness that led to septic shock, a medically induced coma, and life-altering surgeries, including being revived from death. As if these challenges weren't enough, she also faced a painful divorce, raising her two children on her own while undergoing intense physical and emotional recovery.

Despite the overwhelming adversity, Penny's story is one of incredible tenacity and transformation. She shares how she managed to rebuild her life, focusing on self-worth and resilience, and how she turned her experiences into opportunities for growth. Penny's journey didn't stop with her recovery; she has since authored a memoir, "Aftershock: Reinventing Yourself One Piece at a Time," which captures her extraordinary comeback.

Throughout the conversation, Penny emphasizes the importance of self-discipline, inner dialogue, and the power of community. She candidly discusses how she overcame bitterness, fostered open communication with her children, and even worked towards mending her relationship with her ex-husband before his untimely passing.

This is an honest and open conversation about the ability to create the life you want to live through believing in yourself and being open to healing and transformation.
