Hello, hello. Welcome to the category queen show. I have one of our most popular guests, Callan Faulkner. Say hello, Callan.
Popular, I love it. Most popular.
Welcome back. Before we hit record, were just talking about the fact that this is Callan's third time on the podcast, which is an ultimate record.
Pretty big.
I mean, it's so fitting.
Well, we talk every day.
We might as well, let's bring the conversations to the platform because I think our conversations are pretty cool. I mean, let's be honest, they are.
They are. We should, we should probably always be recording. Yes, I know you saved something, okay?
But today we're talking to something really on top of mind for everybody and also for Callan, who has become a true, just expert and leader in this space around AI. So I want to first start Callan by talking about just your journey. I think for those listeners that don't know who you are yet, if you could just give us a quick summary of who you are and what you do and allow our listeners to really know your heart and your mind.
Yes. Amazing. So my story started, I came out of college and right away I got into sales, tech sales. So I've been in the technology space for, honestly my entire career, since I graduated from school. So about eleven years I was doing CRM implementation. So for those of you that have heard of HubSpot or Salesforce, Pipedrive automations, marketing automation, I started to see the in and outs of these big Fortune 5000 businesses and I started to see crazy amounts of people, billion dollar companies operating with spreadsheets. And I knew right away that my skill set and the way my mind is wired, that I love creating efficiencies, I love creating automation, I love saving time, I love finding shortcuts and hacks, and that's just kind of been my whole life. And that turned into health hacks and sleep hacks.
And now we're on AI hacks. And if I can find a way to take one less step, I will do that, which fits perfectly with my enneagram. I don't know if you've done anyagram on here, but I'm an Enneagram three. So just really trying to find efficiency, I got into the real estate investing space. So I have a company called REI Optimize. I help real estate investors scale their business. And now I'm kind of broadening out my market now that we're doing AI, because the people are asking for it. So I'm bringing it so good.
And so I want to, first of all, I want to circle back to this idea of efficiency and, like, where you started to notice that in your life. But I think that when you mentioned, like, broadening, you know, your brand a little bit, I think that it's really, to me, you're just, like, going deeper. Like, your brilliance is 100% inefficiencies in automation, and bringing in the AI component obviously is like a no brainer, but you also just naturally gravitated towards it. And we, I'll never forget, we have a group chat between you, Stephanie and I. And I remember you sending us a message. It could have been at the end of last year, at the beginning of this year, and you were like, ladies, this is really important. We have to be at the cutting edge of AI. And I'm like, oh, fuck.
Like, I'm just, like, stressing, maybe sweating a little bit, and it really inserted this idea, or maybe a little bit of urgency of, like, this is really important as a business owner, but the way that you talk about it and the way that you teach it is so different than I think that most people are talking about or teaching it. And I think that's what I really want to bring to the conversation today. But most importantly, just helping people understand why. Why is this important and whether you're just getting going or you're a little bit more seasoned, where this might apply to you. And I think that there's so many iterations and variables and nuances to AI.
And again, I just want to have that conversation to soften it a little bit, because I think it can be overwhelming, but also just giving people the permission to start where they're at and really lean in. So I want to first paint the picture, though, because I want to go back to our mountaintop mastermind when I knew this was totally your zone of genius, but I didn't really know until we're sitting around the table and you walk us through this exercise, and it was just using chat GPT, and I had, up until that point, been using that tool. But the way that you walked us through this process, we're literally all, like, crapping our pants. We're like, what is even happening right now? And these are very successful business owners, right?
Yes. Okay, can I set the scene on this? I just need to tell this story because this is from my perspective. So, for those of you that don't know, we, Kinsey, Steph, our friend Renee and I went on a retreat together at Renee's beautiful mountaintop condo in big white Canada. And in the morning, we wake up, we're all super early risers, which is so fun. And we're all running these successful businesses, and we're just. We are in the zone, and it's so much fun. We're just talking about business. So I'm a. I love to cook. I love to. I love to cook really healthy food. So I wake up and I kind of start prepping breakfast a little bit.
Steph, Renee, and Kinsey are all ranked on their laptops, and they, I mean, when I'm saying typing furiously, like, their computers are literally going to shatter. Like, it is typing with an intensity I've never seen. Everyone is just like, type, type, type. And I'm like, what the hell is going on? What are you typing? So I kind of watch them do it. I'm, like, making the quiche. Like, okay, this is a little, you know, and I'm thinking, what.
Are you doing, Callan? Why are you making breakfast, and why are you not working?
Why are you working? Like, because my team is running AI proms to do all the things that I was doing, that you guys are doing. And I think I have this tendency to just think, like, everyone knows what I already know, so why would I share it? Like, obviously they know that I could be doing all this. So I kind of walk over. I'm like, girls, what are we. What are we up to? And, you know, Kinsey, I think you were writing a landing page content. Renee was writing emails, and Steph was writing. Like, Steph was doing something with blog. Something with blogging. Yeah. I was like, all right, we need to at 07:30 a.m., central, were doing an AI masterclass. So I walked you guys through, really, how to communicate with AI.
And I think that we're in this phase right now where this is all so brand new. Some people hear AI and they think, like, coding. It's like, no, we need to think AI and think Internet like basics. You are going to every single person that's listening to this. A year from now, we'll be using Jack or AI for at least 30 minutes a day, at least. It's just a matter of time when you embrace it. So we kind of went through the basics of understanding how to really communicate with it to get it to do what you want it to do. And I'm not going to say there were tears shed, but I think we're pretty close.
Yeah. And it's like, I don't even know if it were hot. I mean, I don't even know how many times I text you or called you after that trip saying, oh, my gosh, oh, my gosh. Almost mad because I realized how hard I had been working when I didn't need to, and the inefficiencies in my systems and my processes and all the things that I was white knuckling, basically, when there were so many other alternatives to that, to free up time. And I think that, and this is why, Callan, you're the most qualified to really bring this conversation to this platform, is that it's not really about AI. It's about how do we live our best life? How do we have time to cook breakfast for our friends who decide to work way too hard?
Or how do we live, like, really, truly make time for our loved ones? And how do we continue to do things that we love, prioritize our health, and make a lot of money while doing it? And you're just such a good example of that. So that was really. I think that was also a good. That moment at that table, I think, was also a good validation for you that you actually, I think, didn't realize the magnitude of your brain and where and how qualified you were to start making AI more part of your brand, conversations, offers, et cetera. Can you talk a little bit about even maybe that realization? Because I think a lot of people resonate with that.
Yeah. Yeah. I. Like I mentioned earlier, and I think we all feel this. Everyone knows what I know, right? Like, oh, yeah. Why would I. Why would I be the one to share this with you? Of course, you already know this. I think I do have a special gift of teaching. I think I've had that from a very young age. And so I think taking the advanced concepts and really making it applicable to a ten year old, no stupid questions, is one of my gifts. So as I start to understand more about this, really bringing it across to you guys, and I really, that was the first time I really had ever taught it, honestly.
I mean, obviously this has only been around for six months, and even my scrappy, half brained, you know, trying to get you guys to understand this was so transformational. It really was a moment of change for me. Like, it really was a pivotal moment of my life of like, oh, my gosh, if this half assed coaching was that transformational, what would happen if I actually put structure and time and curriculum and effort and get professional coaching involved into this? I think this could be completely life changing for people.
Yeah. And so I just want to put a pin in that real fast because I think that's so valuable. I think people overlook that is like, if you don't know what you're good at, just start having conversations with people. Start teaching people. Get in a room with somebody and say, hey, I would love to talk to you about this, or do you know anything about this? Let me show you something. And, like, that feedback, those feedback loops are so powerful.
Everything.
Oh, my gosh. And I think without that, you wouldn't have known, again the magnitude of your own knowledge. And so that's. I just want to make sure that we reiterate that and wherever you're at in your own knowledge and expertise, like, consistently getting that feedback loop is important. Okay, so let's talk about then, AI. I want to kind of take a step back and just ask you why. Why is it so important? Why did you text Steph and I at that night saying, this is important, that we stay ahead of this? Why is AI so important to especially business owners like ourselves?
So let me tell you, when I texted you that what I had seen, like, what the first thing I saw, so I was on a webinar, and I was. One of the things that I absolutely hate doing in my business is creating sops, standard operating procedures. I am a visionary, and I just hate the details. I have no problem creating a video of, okay, you need to do this, do this. But taking that video and creating a step by step process document with headers and bullets. No, thank you. Like, I would rather just. Well, I'll do it. I was gonna say, go get a job. No, before that. I'll do it before that. But you get the point? So I was watching webinar. And is most of your audience familiar with Loom? Loom is a video recording software that I use almost daily.
So I have no problem creating a video of. Hey, guys, here's how we create a services agreement for a client. You open up Pandadoc, you click this, you fill this in. So what he did is he took on the webinar, he took the transcript of that loom video, and he told chat GBT to act like a world class technical and document writer. And he said, please take this transcript, essentially, and create a Sop from it. And I have a prompt. I'd be happy to share it with your audience if they want to see this. But I put the transcript in, I used the prompt that he already had. It took my transcript, and it built a beautiful Sop document with a header and a subject and a description of the Sop and the step by step instructions of the SOP.
I've taken that one step further, and I found an apple called Scribe how AI. And it's the same. Scribe how. Let me just make sure I have that right. Scribe how? Scribe how.com. And it's the same idea. You take a video and it builds out the full sop for you, and it takes little screenshots, and it just pops it right where they're supposed to go. I was, were spending hours, like, my 50, $60 an hour employees hours on these sops. So my brain, of course, is like, oh, my God, I can just create a video, snap my fingers, have the sop created video link done in ten minutes. So that was the trigger. This, the whole idea of this is, how do I take something that is taking me hours right now, whether it's writing content, maybe it's, you know, even journaling.
Like, I've been doing that inside of chat GPT so that it can catch my cognitive biases, it can check, catch my limiting beliefs. Like, it would have taken me hours with my therapist to figure out, like, where my tendencies are and AI is able to catch these things. And that is just scratching the surface.
Yeah. Oh, my gosh. So good. So, and I think, too, when, in this context, I think people automatically think Chachi bt when we say AI. But Chachi Bt is just a tool, right, of AI. And I think that you opened me up, first of all, if only ever you use Chachi bt in the right way. I think what Callan's going to show you and teach you is that you'll save hundreds and hundreds of hours over the course of the year. So that alone is so powerful.
But five to ten x your speed, I think you don't even know how fast you can go if you're using this tool.
Yes. So chassis Bt is just one tool of AI, but there's all these other tools. And you even showed me a few others. And I think that, again, you just don't know what you don't know. But it is important. I think the message here is, as a business owner, you have to educate yourself and you also have to be, well, I don't like to say have to, but I, what are sort of, if were to kind of go on along the lines of like, okay, you don't have to utilize AI, but what are the consequences of that? Other than, you know, not saving a.
Bunch of time, what would the consequences be of you just choosing not to use email and the Internet?
Kinsey Machos
Yeah. Because that's really what it is.
Yeah. You wouldn't have a business anymore. Right. You would be the guy that's in his basement with 99 million file cabinets and he's antiquated and you're faxing him stuff and you're using checks. No one wants to work with him. That's. That is literally what's happening. I don't want to be a fear, create fear inside you or stress. I just. We're so early in this still. It is just, you need to decide that you are going to lean it in, because right now I think we're all kind of like, I don't know if I need that. I don't. It's non negotiable. It is here.
And if you're not using it over the next year or two, it's just going to become the gap and is going to wider and widen and widen between the people that are using it and the people that have decided not to.
Yeah, okay. Yeah. And I think that's like, hopefully just kind of sensing that, like, okay, I need to at least start to familiarize myself with the tools or how and. Or how to leverage those tools. I want to talk, though, before we kind of go into maybe a little bit of that piece. I want to kind of hit on the resistance or the fears around this. I know I can speak personally where I was not either fully leaning in and, or was just completely resistant to it, but I would love for you to also share what you hear from your audience or just in the conversations you're having. I know that even when were at the scale up event in Nashville.
You led a group of people through these experiences, and there was tons of people just, again, mind blown because that's what you've been doing in these containers. But what are the. The fears and resistance, the resistant pieces that. What are you hearing from. From your people?
Yeah, I think, first of all, it is completely understandable and almost more normal to be really apprehensive about this and feel, you know, that kind of. That stress feeling, your body, maybe a tightness of chest or, like, you know, kind of a stomach feeling. Because I think we hear new technology and it's like that response of, oh, my God, like, now I have to learn this whole new thing. AI kind of feels like coding and technical. It feels scary. It's like what people. When people were like, oh, yeah, you're not going to send letters anymore or you're going to send email. It's like it doesn't even make sense. So just know that there's this distance between us and AI right now that, like, doesn't make any sense until you just dive in and start using it. So, totally normal, I think where we.
When people think of AI, I think they think of, like, a robot machine thing with, like a, you know, if I could put an image on it's like the silver robot kind of looks like an alien, and it's like talking to us.
Have you seen Wall E?
Yeah, exactly.
That's what I think of literally, wall E, like.
Right, right. So, yes. Are there. Is there machine learning, artificial intelligence robots in senior living facilities that are helping to dole out medication and helping to. But again, senior living facilities, how hard is it to hire people that are really good and that are keeping track of all the details? Like, yes, there. There is some. Some fear, I think, around how powerful AI can be, but the good and the responsible use of AI, this is just going to be just like the Internet, just like this invention of new things. Like, I think there's so much more good than harm that can come that I am very optimistic about. So I think as we start to understand, like, oh, wow, this can help clear up my thinking. This can help me make better decisions.
This can be used very ethically and help me in my life, both personally and professionally. Until you get to that point and have a couple of those use cases and a couple of those, I call it my crack moment, where I, like, see someone use strategy for the first time, there is going to be fear. So you just really have to commit and just open your eyes to it.
Yeah. And we are going to be providing. You're doing a masterclass where you're actually, I think, right, you're going to show some use cases. So we're going to invite you to that masterclass here at the end of this and we're going to have the link. But that would be the best place to see that in action. And I think that is, and I'm such a visual learner, I always have to see somebody else do something first in order for me to really understand it. And I think that's what you gift people is like, let's do this together. And every time I watch you do this again, people's heads are blowing off of their necks because it's just like the louder party is like, oh, my gosh, it's like such a transformational experience.
But also, I think in the context of marketing, what I hear a lot is we connect chat DBT to writing content. And you'll hear a lot around, like, oh, you definitely know this is a robot. Like, if you are reading people's content, you can definitely tell the people that are literally copying and pasting content from chat GPT that is not their voice, not the things that they would say and using as content. And I think that's being overused right now. And so automatically in the marketing space, people are afraid to use it because of that. But I think you let me know that's because people are using it in the wrong way.
Exactly right.
And there's actually a way you can use tools like Cheshire BT to create content that are aligned with your voice, that are ethical to you that sound like you. But it's, again, it's how you use it. Can you talk about a little bit about that piece?
Yeah, so let's just. I'm just going to go through a functional example right now of how you can write better content with Jackie. So in just a little bit of orienting, you guys, chat GPT is called a large language learning model. LLM. LLM, large language model. Sorry, large language model. There are multiple large language models. So it's like search engines. There's Google, there's Bing, there's Yahoo, there's ChatgbT, there's Claude, there's Gemini. Gemini is Googles. So you're going to start seeing more of these large language models pop up. Right now, we're all using chat GPT because it was the first one. It's kind of like the Google right now. But Claude is another really good one. So if you guys hear mention Claude or hear mention Gemini. It's all kind of the same thing. They're just different brands with me.
Great. Yep, cool.
Okay, let's talk about a functional example of using an LLM. So we'll talk in chat GPT so if you go in there right now, this is what most people do. They say, oh, I need to write a letter. Last name. One of my girlfriends was like, I use Jackie Bt to write a letter where they're trying to close on a house. So it was the COVID letter to, you know, give them some examples of why they want to buy the house and all the things. So she did what everyone else does. They go in there and say, write me a cover letter. We're trying to close on this house. You know, we're a couple, we have two kids. This is why we really want it. Write me a letter and it will write for you.
The issue is that you did not give it enough information to write in the right tone and write in the right way with the right words and the we'll call it the tone that you want it to. So a couple ways to figure out what tone you want to write in one way is if you found if you had a past cover letter, if there was another cover letter online and you really liked the tone, you can this is this new habit we're going to start creating together is asking chat GPT how should I tell you? What kind of tone do you believe this letter is written in? I'd like to write a letter just like this and I'd like it to be in the same exact tone.
And then you press enter and then you do letter in all caps and then you insert the copy of the letter and it's going to spit back out. This letter is written in a conversational, spartan, casual tone with a hint of playfulness. You can now, next time you write the letter, you're going to chat and you're saying, hey, I would like you to write me a cover letter for this and this. Please use a tone that is casual, spartan, conversational, with a hint of playfulness. It's going to be perfect, but we're getting it closer. Now, another hot tip for writing like something is if you like. For me, I write the way that I write is a little bit like Gary Vaynerchuk or Simon Sinek. I like them. They're both kind of like technical, fun writers that have big ideas.
So when I'm writing something, I'll often start with, please write this like Simon Sinek, please write this. Like, Alex Hormozi, please write that. Or even better is if put in your own content and ask, what kind of famous author or famous person do I write? Like, it has a lot more data around a person than it does around a tone. So you're always going to get a better result when you give it an author or a person to write like than you will a specific tone to.
Write like, oh, my gosh, I even just got another takeaway there that's so good. And I this so often, but I think theme here is like, and I just go back to my data days when were analyzing so much data, but also setting up the infrastructure for that data to be collected and monitored. And it's just so ingrained in my head. Bad data in, bad data out. And so if you're not liking what AI is doing for you, then we need to just increase the quality of how you're using it. Right.
It's not AI. Yeah.
It's the user, which is like, okay, fine, right. And so, but what you bring to the table is like, that's what you're.
Teaching, which, how to be a better user. Yeah.
Yes. It's not. Which is such a reframe. And I think that was one of my biggest takeaways. Walking away from Canada is like, it's not really knowing, like, how AI works. It's like, how do you work it? And you, when you know that, then you're better equipped to then continue to use it in all areas of your life and your business. And I think that's what you do so well is like teaching those principles behind it so you can just continue to rinse and repeat. But there is. There's a lot to know. It's a. It's a bigger learning curve and it's.
A whole new frame. Yeah. It's a whole new way of using your brain. This is like if someone had asked someone in 1980, like, okay, you need to google that. Like, search Google?
Yes.
What? Like, search what? And now finding things on Google and doing research on the Internet is so second nature, we don't even think about it. That is what it's going to be like in a couple of years from now, communicating with chat GBT, because you have practiced so many times, like, oh, I tried it like that and it didn't like that. Or, you know, I told it to actually, we need to get in the habit of telling it what to do and asking it what it needs from us. And this is the whole other side of our brain. No one's ever done this before. I've only been doing this for six months. No one's an expert. I'm learning every single day, like, oh, it didn't like that. It likes it when I do it like this. And it's going to change.
Changes every month, changes every week. Same thing with Google. Like, we know how to search on Google much better now than we did when were eleven. Yeah, just.
It's so good. And I want to speak to something else, Callan, that you really also installed in me because there was a fear a couple months ago. I even said, like, technically, no idea is unique. And if you're a coach or consultant and you have intellectual property or you're teaching something, there's no doubt that those people can literally go to chat or even the Internet anymore and find everything they need, the roadmap, the how. Right? So it begs the question, like, is AI going to replace me? And I had this conversation with you and it's like, okay, yes and no.
And I think that as especially coaches and consultants or service based entrepreneurs just assessing the fact that, yeah, there are a lot of things that chat GPT or AI could replace of you, but also all the more reason to embrace it and bring it in. Can you talk to. I don't know if you remember that conversation with me.
I do.
Mind blowing. Because I was like, okay, so that's where I really need to lean in before the women listening. What would that look like for them?
Yeah. So everyone, I mean, most people listening have some sort of content curriculum that you're teaching, that you're training on that, to be totally honest, like, if I wanted to search content on why pregnant women need chiropractic and I needed to teach a presentation on that in an hour with chat GPT, I could probably figure out what the content is now. What? What don't I have any experience working? Any stories, any life experience, any case studies? I don't have the sequence of information that needs to be delivered. So, like, what do they need to learn first? What makes the most sense? Based on my. I don't understand the target audience, what that person really needs. I don't really know their pain. I mean, I can ask chat GDT, but like, real life, like real time, what is their pain?
So we talked a lot about for you. You have methodologies that you've built over time and you've seen this taught. And chat GBT, this is the thing, too. Chat GBT will lie to you. Chat Gbt wants to make you happy. If that means that it has to give you fake information, it absolutely will do that. So this is not like truth telling here. This is literally, it has access to the entire Internet up until 2021 or 2022, the entire Internet. You know how much fake information is on there? So who even knows?
Who even knows?
I mean, yeah, give me some really good stuff. Of course I can. It's helpful if I give it a couple of books to reference, like that structures it a little bit more. But we talked about for you was building custom GPT, where you feed in your knowledge, your experience, your case studies, your real life examples of people that went from zero to month and how they got there. And then that GPT is something that people can ask questions into and they can search into. And this is whole phase two, phase three stuff with GPT. But nothing's going to take away your individual human experience, and nothing's going to take away a human teaching another human like I am right now. You wouldn't want to go to chat GBT and be like, how do I use you? No, that's not how our brains work.
We're emotional beings, so we do need that emotional element in this.
Yeah. And so it's just asking the question whether you're in the health space or the relationship space or parenting chiropractor, you know, practitioner, whatever that looks like. What would it look like for you to bring in chatty BT for your clients and customers? Right. And also carry that same message of, this can add to your life, this can increase your efficiency, this can help you do this and that, but you have to become, first a user of it and really learn it for yourself. And it's really important, though, I think that we are weaving this into the conversation, into the overall messaging experience.
Yep. So let's talk about kind of. I'll talk about the phases of integrating AI into your life and business. So phase one is going to be called the foundations. So these are some of the things were doing in Canada. So were building prompts to write emails like you, Kinsey. We were talking about how to automate the creation of a presentation using Gamma G a m M A. We were talking about how to do research, how to ask it some basic questions, how to, and even some mini projects in this example. So if you're a chiropractor, I believe that every single chiropractor in the next three years will have an AI answering the phone for them when there's not a human available. So to take in the call schedule an appointment, reschedule an appointment. The AI has amazing skill set.
I think there'll be an AI chat bot on the website to be answering questions, asking questions. It's so much better than a regular chat bot because it understands context. It can read a calendar, it can see the scheduling, it can do so much that a human can do so just many projects, drafting emails, creating documents. I don't, I mean, you need an attorney, but my attorney reviews documents now. He doesn't create documents ever. I'm going into chat GPT I'm saying you're a world class attorney based in Minnesota. Here's the context, here's what I need. I need a joint venture agreement. They spin it up, I make a couple tweaks, send it to the attorney for review. So these are just some basic stuffs foundation getting used to the tool.
Phase two is more versatile where maybe we're doing art creation, there's video creation, there's more advanced AI apps that are out there that aren't inside of chat. GPT generating music. Maybe we're copying our voice. There's in part of it's just even understanding what's out there. You don't even need to be using these things on a regular basis. Just, you have to know they exist because you don't know when something might come up with it you could use. And then phase three is going to be applying your skills to real world problems. And that's the, that is when things start to get really exciting.
So that when you're in your leadership meeting or you're meeting with your business partner and you're realizing that one of your biggest issues is, let's say you're starting a podcast and you're like, we have no idea where to start on this. You have the ability to tell Chat GPT that they are a podcast consultant, give them all the information and ask chat GPT what it needs to help you build out a full business plan for your podcast. Content ideas, curriculum ideas. And then, you know, there's just, this is where over time, you're going to start to see little tactical examples like, oh, here's how you visualize learning with AI and build process maps. Oh, here's how you use it as a business coach. Oh, Callan just showed me how to create music with it.
Here's how she created a little face music so she can use it. A podcast intro. I don't know if I'll ever need to use that, but I know I have it in my toolbox now, so that if I do need that at one point, then I can tap into it.
Amazing. This is so good, Callan. So I want to also, too, like, there's a lot, I think, with any trend, and this isn't. AI is not necessarily a trend, but I think any new topic that arises to the surface, I always see people pivoting in their niches or their businesses. And, like, all of a sudden, I remember even, like, when reels were a thing on Instagram, all of a sudden all these, like, real specialists or coaching came out of the woodwork. Like, what is happening? Same thing with, you know, TikTok or I saw somebody marketing themselves as a threads expert, you know, and I find that with any new thing, like, all of a sudden we have these experts calling themselves experts.
And I think I would, I just really want to, like, really illuminate you and your brain and just, and make it clear that your, I think with AI, like you said, it's changing literally every day. But I would love for you to share what you're doing to stay at the cutting edge, because I'm not doing what you're doing. I am learning from you, and you're transferring that knowledge from what you believe I need to know. But you're on the cut. You are staying on that cutting edge so that you are that thought leader and you're transferring that knowledge to the rest of us. But I just want you to paint a picture of, like, what are you doing? Like, what are the things that you're doing to stay at the, like, just feel like you're kind of ahead of the curve, if you will.
Yeah. So the first thing I'm doing is if I'm at home and I'm just hanging out, I am most likely there's a YouTube video on my tv that I'm watching. I'm subscribed to some AI guys. I'm happy to share those however you want.
No, the point here is you don't need people to do that.
Exactly. Exactly. Right.
Because this is, like, totally yours. It's kind of like, I think what you've discovered is, like, I mean, we don't. I don't love to learn a bit about AI. Like, I love to learn it from you, but, like, I'm not going to spend my days learning it. Like, totally.
So, yes, YouTube. I hired an AI. So one of the guys that has a YouTube channel, I reached out to him and I was like, can you just coach me for 2 hours a week? So I've been working with him for the last couple months where I have a problem in my business, I go to him and I was like, how would you solve this? And so I can, I've started to see the way that his brain works, and there's times when I don't even know how to solve it. And he's a prompt, an AI prompt engineer. And so he puts it through his stuff and he be spits me. A prompt out.
Every single engineer. I cannot believe that's even a thing.
It's just every single person on this call will have an AI prompt engineer. It's just like the Zapier expert or an automation expert. Like, I don't know how to build this. Well, I probably do, but most business owners don't know how to build a really advanced zap. They just want someone to do it for them. Same thing with an AI prompt. Like, you know, I want to build a landing page and I just want to have the same prompt every single time. I want to sound like this, look like this, have these sections, we'll have it. And that's part of my coaching, too, is like, how do you communicate with an AI prompt engineer? So, yes, AI coaching, YouTube. And then I'm just, I'm really curious. I'm so curious. Everything I'm looking at, I double look, I double click on it.
I'm like, you just spent 2 hours merging those three CSV documents together. I guarantee you we could put those documents in a chat GPT and ask it to merge them for us. And sure enough, I worked with our prompt engineer. We built a prompt that every time we have those documents that come through, merge them together, and it's one document saved us 3 hours.
Yeah.
So that's just, again, how my brain is. Yeah.
And I think that's just naturally how you built, like you said, you have always been looking for ways to be more efficient in your life and your business. And so it's just so natural that you would be drawn to this. And I think I just want to, again, reiterate that, you know, for our listeners, that they don't need to be the ones hiring, you know, all these AI specialists or studying all these things. Like, you're actually doing that for us. And we love you so much for that because it's like you becoming a master of your craft is just like so natural. But I think that we do need people like you that can again, transfer that knowledge and education of, like, what do we need to know right now?
Oh, like when were in Nashville, I had no idea that this quad one had been introduced.
Right.
And so I'm asking you the questions, well, what's the difference between Chachi BT and Claude? Right? And so I remember the difference. You did tell me it was like, claude has better memory.
Very good. Yeah. So right now, Claude, when you're talking to it in one chat, it can remember all the text of all the Harry Potter books in one chat thread. So something you said to it way, way back ago. So amazing if you're using it as, like, your therapist, and it's remembering, like, hey, you told me this about your mom that probably could be coming into this, but. So GPT is a lot less memory than Claude, but they're, like, in a rat race right now. Like, GPT will come out with GPT five and it'll better.
It's so interesting because I, the other day, was actually testing both, and I wanted to see the answers that would give me.
But it's so fun.
It's so fun. I just loved.
See, that's a huge thing coming from you, because I think there was a lot of resistance from you on this.
Yes. There.
Yeah.
Callan Faulkner
What do you think?
What do you. What makes you excited about it now? Like, why? What turned the table on you?
Well, so many things. I think, first of all, I realized I could use it as a tool to, like, get out of my brain. I think there's a lot of things going in our brain, and it allows this, like, sounding board. I mean, even you said, like, it kind of acts like a therapist, right?
Yeah, yeah.
And it just keeps us in check of, like, does this make sense? I literally, like, I have a business partner with me every day, and I'm just, like, having conversations with it. I also kind of got out of this modality that I have to use it to even produce something. It's really just like, it can be a sounding board and help me put my thoughts together. And it's even double checking. Like, this is how I'm thinking about it. What do you hear? I literally have, like, weird questions. I'm like, well, it doesn't have ears, but I'll say things like, what do you hear when I say this thing? And it just kind of provides that sort of second set of eyes, if you will, and sort of like a partner in crime. Like, hey, check in with me here. I think, too, like, the.
It just goes back to when you use it the right way, it's going to 100% add value to your business or your life. Whereas before, and I even heard this from my team, they're like, it just feels like I have to spend more time doing something right. So there's this concept or this belief that like, well, if I just spend all my time in chat bt, then I'm. It's just quicker for me to just do the thing. We're talking about creating prompts for, you know, podcast episodes and things like that. And, yeah, maybe the front loading of it does take a little bit more time, but once you have that, it's just rinse and repeat. Boom, boom. And so, like, helping people overcome the fact of like, well, it's just more time.
It's actually decreasing time when you think of it over a longer period of time span.
Callan Faulkner
Yeah, yeah. And that's actually a really good point. I think a lot of people, most of my clients get a lot of pushback from their team because their team is threatened by it. Their team is seeing, oh, if that task could be done by AI, what's my job?
Yep.
Your job is to work five times faster than you are right now.
Yes.
It's not going to take your job. Well, I'm not going to say that for sure. Some people, but. But, you know, for the most part, you need to learn how to use this to keep your job. This is some of the culture conversation, too, because your team will fight back on using this because they're going to be threatened by it. But just helping them understand, oh, no, guys, this is going to help us move faster and I'm going to help you along the way learn how to use this.
Yeah. And I know that you're going to really, you are also going to be a leader in that space. Just helping more business owners have the right conversations with their teams and showing.
Their teams and train their team. Bring your team. Yeah, bring your team to the masterclass. Absolutely.
Yes. Okay, so let's talk about this masterclass. So we want to invite our listeners to this free masterclass that you're giving around AI. So really taking what we talked about here a little bit deeper, but maybe a little bit wider. Can you talk about what people will learn if they attend this free masterclass and why it's important?
Absolutely. Yeah. So I created this masterclass. I just am getting a lot of people asking about this concept. You know, show me. Essentially, I want to recreate our experience in Canada. What are some of the things that I want to show you guys that are going to blow your mind and for you to change the thought, change the fear and get you so excited about this? I think it takes just sitting down and seeing a couple of those things. Maybe I'll show you know, how an SOP is created. A little bit of the content piece. I'm going to show you a little bit on creating a presentation using AI. So if that's something that you do, very cool. Just a couple of AI apps I can't live without.
A couple of the ways I'm using it as a coach, as a personal coach, to ask questions, using it as an attorney. Just some of these really basic day to day examples. Simon Sinek says that if you're not using this for 30 minutes a day right now in April 2024, you're missing it. So I want to give you a couple ways that you are constantly grabbing your phone and doing. When I'm out on a walk, I am constantly voice noting into chat GBT and talking to it just like a friend. This is happening. So just some of these really functional examples. I'm going to be going over on the masterclass and just getting you really fired up about it.
Yeah. Because I think that is the most useful. Like, you can hear us talking about how important it is and how we use it, but to actually see it in action, I think, is just so impactful. It's so impactful. And every time I see it done by you, Callan, people literally walk away with their life transformed. People say that to you. They're like, oh, my God, you changed my life. And were even at the restaurant later that night. There was a gentleman that was like, I've been having. You know, it was like, later that night. You had taught it earlier that day. And he's like, I just can't stop talking to chat TPT, and, like, it's coming up with all these things, so it will transform your life 100%. And so it's just so needed.
It's so fun. Yeah. I mean, there are people that some of you listening may have never even logged into chat DBT before. You are my target audience. I want to talk to you. I want just come watch, look at it. Because the guy is the guy that came up to me and was like, I've never seen this before in my entire life. I thought that he's a contractor, construction. He does custom remodels. He's like, I thought I needed to be in the home working with my hands, but now I'm realizing if I use AI to automate my business, I can actually be at home with my wife. I can out in the woods. I can be fishing. So it's like, we're just so reactive.
But back to what you said in the very beginning, I'm only doing this because I want to be more of a human being, and I want to be in the sauna. I want to be making your friends, bad friends. I want to be making quiche. I don't want to be doing this.
Yeah. How do I put it?
On autopilot so good.
And I think that's really the key here. And the core message is, how do we continue to live our best life while our money works for us or business works for us? And you 100% have the key to that. And I'm just so excited to bring, help you bring more of this, because it's so overlooked and also so overwhelming for the majority of people. So, yes, I'm so excited. So we'll include the link to that masterclass. It's totally for free because you're so freaking generous. It's going to be amazing. And you hit a little bit on who is right for this masterclass. Whether you're a beginner, you've literally never even used AI, or you maybe even consider yourself a little bit more seasoned.
I 100% know that you will find at least one to five key takeaways if your head doesn't come off of your neck after your mind being blown. So carve out the time to be there, and it's going to be amazing. All right.
Yes.
Oh, my gosh. Callan , I feel like we could talk about this all day long, but we'll wrap up any. Where do you like? I guess just some parting words as far as what you're most excited about when it comes to AI and also where you're going with it in your business.
I am so excited about the potential this has to create self sufficient operating businesses with very limited time that's needed to be done by humans. And the time that is done by humans is the time that really lights you up as a business owner and really getting into that place when you're stepping inside your business to work, it's the things that give you energy and the things that take you energy we can give to AI to do or give to somebody that has that zone of genius and that lights them up. I think we're getting into a place where we can have million dollar businesses that operate even more without us, then that's the whole goal. And beyond that, I'm so passionate about. Me with human performance and productivity and eating great and living your best life.
And that's just what I'm so excited to be coaching on as a part of this, too, because it's kind of all fitting into the same bucket, which is really unusual, usually technology, and that wouldn't fall into the same bucket, but it really is. We're going. We're all going after the same thing.
So.
Good.
So where should we have them? Follow you on Instagram?
Yes.
Callan's always sharing the meals that she, the amazing meals that she makes. Helen, you're such a good steward of community. You're always bringing people together around healthy food, healthy experiences, sauna, you know, cold, plunging, like you said, human performance. And so follow Callan, even just to, like, feel that lift and that elevated energy, if you will, because that's 100% what you walk away with, but 100%, like, join the master class. It's going to be so good. But Callan, thank you for being here. Such a fun conversation. Thank you again for sharing your brilliance. This was so amazing.
Thank you.
