As a mom of two little boys who love mud, I have visions, goals, ideas, and thoughts. Sometimes they only lasted for seconds, and the rest of the day I spend cleaning up after my kids.
Over the past 20 years, I spent 15 years in a fast-paced career development and personal development environment. I have completed 26 half marathons, crossed the finish line at Ironman Canada, and became a mom. It has been the most amazing journey with so many lessons. I know for a fact that the moment I made a decision, clarity in all directions appeared.
I am here to help you connect with what lights you up, through 1:1 coaching.

My name is Carrie Lecuyer. And I'm an ordinary mom making extraordinary decisions. This is me putting one foot in front of the other, moving towards my next goal, and hoping to inspire you along the way. Let's get started.
Carrie Lecuyer:Hello, friends, and welcome back to Soul Inspired Decisions. I'm excited to share this episode with you and I titled it creating your summer vibe because that's where I'm at right now. Heading into the summer holidays with my boys, my husband's been around last week because we've had lots of rain, so just really trying to find a neutral ground. Because the boys have only been home two and a half days from school. And they've already found little ways to nitpick at each other, drive each other's nuts. drive us nuts. We're trying to find boundaries and successful tasks to keep them busy and keep us busy before we drive ourselves crazy before the end of the first week. So learning to create our summer vibes. Well, kids are at home can be a little bit tough for moms, trying to keep the peace in our brains and composure and all the things I'm not losing ourselves can be quite difficult. I've all I'm already finding this episode literally I wanted to do five days ago. And of course life happens. But then the last couple days, every time I sit down to do it, they want something need something, have to tell me something want to make me something something's happened, somebody's hit somebody, somebody's move something. Somebody said a bug, somebody's seen a spider somebody's I don't know, all the things. I'm not kidding you. So actually today, around two o'clock, I'm just like, I quit. I'm not even going to focus on this at all anymore. So here it is 941 at night and I'm recording this for you showing up. I'm trying to create isomer vibe on this beautiful evening, where I'm at and be present here with you in you know, taking some time to myself to do this. And to put this out there. So what does it look like to you to create your summer vibe as a mom when when your kids are home and you're trying to maintain
Carrie Lecuyer:fun, but structure and be free but still have some rules and boundaries and not just given to the iPad or the gaming are all the things and let them know that there's lots to explore in our yard and our world and be present with each other but to not get distracted and upset and just send them to the rooms because they're fighting, right? How do we do that and keep our summer vibes moving. Because being vibrant is super powerful in being our true selves. And it's very powerful to hold an intention to live a vibrant life feel vibrant, have a vision of being vibrant, being our true selves, even though be mom can be really tough in certain moments throughout the day off and on all day long. It never stops, right? Especially when they're home for the summer. So if you're a mom, and you've already been home with your kids for a couple of days, and you feel my energy towards how it's been going, I mean yesterday was really good. And then today we stayed home all day because they need to be home they need to be bored. And yet, we're like is it worth it? Should we stay at home should we just went for a bike ride but trying to let them figure out their boundaries between each other and ourselves is as good as structure it's, it's also fun, it's great. So trying to figure out and take some time for myself, which didn't happen till they went to bed. So I went for a walk after they went for bed, sat down and wrote a few things. And finally then the title just came to me today creating your survive because that's really what this is about in this moment is just being present to when we can And to feel great vibrations in our body. And how we can do that is obviously eating healthy drinking water, moving our body having uplifting conversation, even though when you're around kids that might not as happen as much. So listening to podcasts, listening to good music that you like, whatever that may be surround yourself with the happy energy of nature, your animals, when the kids are getting along, and smiling and laughing, just be present in those moments and say, Thank you, that creates a powerful vibration immediately. And why is this important? Because the universe, everything in the universe is energy and is at a high vibrating, vibrating free frequency, constantly. And when we are activated at a high energy, we feel vibrant, and alive and fun, and happy and excited. And when we're feeling all these things, we feel like we can move forward to the next step, the next task, the next block of time that we have in our day. So it is so sure that we have something to look forward to life seems more easy. And of course, I'm all about goals, big, small, whatever it may be. They shift throughout the summer, because it's very different atmosphere in our summer in our household. So the shift are my goals are not as big they are for workwise. I dwindle down a bit. It's more focused on my kids being present and available for them. So we don't have to find babysitters childcare on things, we have no family around us. So trying to navigate doing lots of activities and still keeping again the vibration we want for a summertime. So goals are important, even though they may look different. Having direction is important because it keeps us feeling good. So for example, and you can choose whatever you like I I just finished as of tonight. So tonight, and June 30. I just finished a 30 day challenge with my boys. Now we started out the four of us. However, my husband was away in the forest and working and he just once he got on a fire, he had no time to add in to our challenge. But he gave it a good four days, which is more than I can ask for typically, but my boys made it to 21 days, and then they got tired. And we're out because it was quite a bigger challenge than they thought at the time. But I committed to the 30 days and show up every day, even though it's really tough. So what I did was at the beginning of the month, because
Carrie Lecuyer:in July, I will be doing a Spartan Race. And if you can't complete the obstacle, they make you do burpees. So I don't have the strength anymore to just hammer out burpees all day because I think on average, I do 110 burpees throughout the day because I can't actually do all the challenges. And if you slip or whatever and you don't complete, you do work. So in preparation for this race, this obstacle race, I thought I would want to start doing burpees. So for 30 days, I would add a burpee each day. So day one, we did one burpee today I did 30 burpees. I did however split it up throughout a two hour period. So 1010 and 10, because it still was quite hard. And then also I allowed my kids to pick one thing that they wanted to do. So we had some pumping jacks, which Leo picked. They are actually called Jumping jacks, but pumping jacks for him is what we did. And for my other son Lincoln, he picks it up. So we have a 30 day challenge of situps jumping jacks and burpees. So the boys did did very well for their age five and seven, made it to 21 days, my husband four days, so thank you for him to participating and 30 days for myself. And when my husband asked why I was doing this, and I said because I'm teaching them about mindset. And when you start something, you work towards it and you build up and you start slow and you keep building. Simple, right? That's what we want. And once we do it and complete it. We're really quite proud on something so simple. So we had the vision of how will we ever get to 30 days, it seems like a lot. But when you start out with one day one, one step forward, one step. You don't have to see the whole staircase. We don't have to know what it feels like to get to 30 We just have to start on day one. And that's what the process was about. And I think it was they were super excited about it and they even asked So, throughout the week, like we should do the challenge, and then I thought, you know, 30 is a lot, so I would revamp it for them a little bit, the next time we do something, and we might jump into July doing a little bit of something to it, because they were super excited every day to to do it, it just got to be a lot at 21 days for for their age. So however, I'm a little bit more structured. And when I commit to something, I move through it, even if it's difficult, and it may not look like what anybody else does. But I get through it. So I am happy to say that I completed my 30 day challenge of 30 Jumping jacks, 30 burpees, and 30 situps each day, and that is creating a great energetic vibe for me moving into July, and I just finished a triathlon. feeling strong, with the different muscles that I've used for the last 30 days. And it's creating this good summer vibe of being active and positive and moving forward. And the next step I need to do for the next few days is get some more water intake into my body, as my kids that are also playing outside more and you know, heat and their heads are hurting, it's a good reminder that we all need more water. So leaving by what they're saying and recognizing what what they're talking about is just adding a little bit more. More family talk of we need more water, we need to be creative, we need to take some time out downtime, shade, all the things, all the things that we have to remind our kids plus trying to keep our own separate vibration, which seems all of a sudden exhausting, right? So how do we stay in it as moms and as women to make ourselves just as important when they're home as to when they're at school. And we have a little bit more extra time to think? Well, first off, I'm going to say that morning routine is everything. So the key to reduce reducing stress is actually a morning routine. And it is a fact that it reduces 20% of your daily stress if you have a solid morning routine. Now, mine has switched over the years. And I've added more things as I've created structure around the things that I wanted to create. And I never thought that I would. But it's actually super easy now. And it's something I look forward to
Carrie Lecuyer:the morning routine is everything to me. And even though sometimes it seems off and I don't want to do it, I still push forward and do it because when I don't I miss it. So morning routine creates and sets you up for good vibrations, gets the things that you want done and out of your way gives you time space and gives you a good structure and layout from throughout the day. So whatever that may look like to you, if you haven't got one, this is a good time to reset and think about what you might add. Even if you just add one thing for you know, try 30 days, give it a shot, no one has to know you just need to do it and stick to it. And be proud of yourself for how far are you moving forward, identify the person that you want to be if you had this routine, or if you have these really good vibrations that you know you started to dance or feel less stress or feel like you were a little bit more planned and scheduled and structured throughout the day. Instead of just like going with the flow of chaos, which can come quite easily and fast when you've got 234 however many children you have hanging around you this summer. And I already you know I already have heard from moms that they just can't wait for their kids to go back to school. And oh my goodness, we haven't even been out of school yet. So I don't want to get to that place. So really creating my vibe is important so that I can create happy place for myself I don't come to feeling like that. I don't want to wish for that or I don't want that feeling. So I'll do what I need to do to create structure and routine to reduce my daily stress to move forward in my routine maybe revamped a little bit bit create positive feelings for myself to feeling prepared. So for probably three years now, for years, you know I've raced triathlons and half marathons, some of my it's my kind of my favorite thing to do. But I have heard from so many physiotherapists and massage therapists and people that I've seen in kinesiology and chiropractors, stretch, you need to stretch, you need to stretch and stretch. And I never did never have I stretched. And just seeing how active my kids are with trying to do flips and rolling and crunching and all the things that kids do. And thinking back to childhood hood on all the things that I taught myself. So I taught my house self how to do this flips, taught me how to self how to do a round off and cartwheels on balance beams like a practice those things diligently, and was super flexible. And now, I mean, my husband can't even imagine myself doing those things. So it's really quite interesting to remember those little, little things that I used to do. And I taught myself to do just working at them. And it's no different now. It's just I'm, you know, like, I'm 43. So I'm essentially 30 years older, still trying to do the things that I set my mind to it just as a different capacity. So about three years ago, I wrote a note and put it in a Ziploc bag and stuck it in the bathroom, shower, and it just said stretch. So every day, I would stretch. And since then I've added a few more. So I don't like wash my hair or anything, I just really it's really just to wake up in the morning and feel fresh and, and stretch. And that is my first morning routine. I hop out and do what I need to do. But I also before when I go outside, I'm really good now at stopping and grounding. So I take a minute to picture myself grounding into the earth, surrounding myself with love. And I try to only smile, trying to bring happiness into my frame of thinking and my mind because when we smile, we recreate less stress in our life. And remember that we can smile just out of the blue at the sky, the trees, or whatever's happening in that moment, and be really present to what's what we see what we hear. So I'd love listening for animals.
Carrie Lecuyer:Looking at the sky, just being very present, and then surrounding myself, shielding myself from outside energies that I don't need don't want us basically saying a little prayer to keep my family safe throughout the day. And that is a simple routine. I guess there'll be four that in the morning, I do usually take time to I always drink water when I get up. You know, we're usually typically a little bit dehydrated in the morning. So I do try to have a little bit of water before I have some coffee. Over the years, I taught myself to drink black coffee in the morning. Not always but I'm pretty good at I can do either or now.
Carrie Lecuyer:But gratitude, gratitude has been key for three solid years now, moving my mindset and shifting yet into being grateful for everything in the last 24 hours. So I didn't know where to start. At the time when I started this on how to do a gratitude journal. But at the time, I found when I googled and searched 24 hours in the last 24 hours, what can you be grateful for and why? And so I still do that today. I do 10 a day. And it really, it really shifts the way I think and how I feel each morning when I do it. And so that has become a routine as well. And I like to sit and again listen to the sounds what's happening out in the coyotes usually how well there's usually a loon sometimes there's some cows I saw this morning that the traffic noise was so loud, I don't know if it was just so calm this morning that it was just sound like the highway was right beside her house. And it's really not were a kilometer off the highway. So and then I also take time to look at my calendar, see where I have going on. And the first thing that I always look at is I time block where I think I'm going to be able to get in at least 30 minutes of exercise that will set up my day, every day. And then I can do all the other things around that. So I usually have a laundry list or maybe I need to go to town or swim whatever it may look like. Exercise is the thing that I work around every day. It's a non negotiable for me it was It grounds me and keeps me moving forward and focused and it makes me feel really good. So that's a non negotiable in my life. Is that time to exercise. Now it may look different, it does look different when we're home for this summer, and there's no one to help me with kids so that I have to make sure that the kids can do it. So now that they can hammer Oh, 5k on the bikes, that's pretty easy for me because I can just get in a run, and they can jog, or ride their bikes. That's not a problem. They are super quick at it and like to explore and now that now that they're so quick, the ride ahead of me stop, look at rocks, throw rocks in the creek, whatever they can find, and entertain themselves a little bit till you know, all mom catches up. But so we find ways to make it work for us. Work for me, keeps them moving, keeps them active. Yep, it is a little bit more work to load up the things and go to town and do bike ride and do a run or explore whatever. But that's okay. All we have is time right now. So keeping them moving, keeping them active, keeping me moving inactive is super important. And I am an active person. So that is super important to me. I also usually turn on some music in the morning, right before the kids start to get up. So usually some could be radio station and could be music of any sorts. It just when the kids come up and hear music, it seems like they're a little bit lighter. As long as we have a little bit of music playing in the morning. I like it really quiet at first thing in the morning. So think about the things that you really like maybe you haven't thought about it for a long time. What do you want this summer to be like to you? Do you want to be moving and shifting and creating and changing? Or do you want to maintain what you've built, created, whatever that may look like to you. It is different for each and every one of us. But just keep in mind that how you set up your day creates your vibrations, and when you create good vibrations, then you have an easier day you move through the day with more ease and flow. And it's very important to have high vibrational things that we do and we'd love. Because then we can simply attract more good things into our life. And we recognize the frequency in which we are, are attracting and creating desires and we get inspired to do new things, create new things and be a positive, more positive person. We attract more positive people we attract better conversations, and you'll feel really good. So creating your summer vibration, you want to pick up the things that you like Israel road trips, are you planning a trip? Are you planning a holiday? Or are you just looking forward to going to the lake golfing, whatever it may be? Plan it out, write it down, feel good about it, because when we feel good about it, we are creating good vibrations, which creates again the flow of what we want and how we feel. And that's super important.
Carrie Lecuyer:That always appreciate what you've what you have in the moment in the day and creating. It creates a value around why it's important to us. So why is this important to us at this time. So whatever you choose, whatever you love doing, if you haven't done something in a long time, you would really love to do try take up this summer, this is the time to do it. This is the time to expand. This is the time to figure out the things that you love and don't love and when you're open to opportunity it creates this world of openness to receive. And that's a very powerful because if being super in the Super simplest way it's becoming your own super attractor, so you give more of this high vibrational frequency then you're drawing in this super attractor energy. manifesting this energy creating vibrational energy that speaks super loud to simply we get what we asked for. So if you're going to be down in the dumps that your kids are home, in their crap in your style, and you don't know what to do with them. That's what you're going to attract but if you set up your day and figure out a plan of what you can do with them Pinterest is great for ideas and crafting and set up the time to get outside put them in a wagon, put them in the stroller and whatever age they're, they're at. You can make it work. I have made it work since they were three months old. We've made it work snacks in the stroller, tons of snacks, they can make a mess. It doesn't matter to me. They are in stroller, the wagon, the cart, the trolley, whatever, I have the backpack for 30 minutes. And that's changes everything. It's a game changer. And then you'll feel ready to achieve everything else that you want to achieve and can take on it. That's extremely important. So, figure out ways to create a great summer vibration for yourself. If it's laying in a pool of water or lake, then that's what you should do. If it's going on a trip on a road trip to the zoo, then that's what you should do. But it's very important for you to have your have your vision, understand why it's important to you this summer, and then figure out what are you going to do each day to get there. So I hope this helps you to feel good. And I'm wishing you a great summer of high vibrational frequency and I will be back and we'll talk about something different summer styles summer shine all the summer things this summer season Take care.
