just thrilled. So I have to tell you that mute girl empowers
millions is the title of this show. But I gotta you know,

in psychology. She wants to free up your superpowers if you'd
like to become a seven figure speaker coach or course,
creator. This is an inspiring, true story for you. So she's the
founder of speakinspire.com and is on a mission to create a
kinder world by empowering a billion kind people to speak,
Inspire, Inspire and prosper. She's known as the former mute
girl who inspired millions. She's basically has secrets to
the world's greatest leaders over the last 25 years, and she
discovered the superpowers that she will transfer and translate
to you. They've helped her overcome her shyness, and she
gives, given live talks to over 2000 people, in English, French,
Spanish, all these different languages, to over 2 million
people. And in just over two weeks, she's raised over $7
million for presentations for one of her clients. So she
actually motivates, educates and inspires these powerful secrets
to you. She has some meditations to help you, and we're going to
share some freebies for you for your coaching course. And she's
here to help and lift up others, and that's why we're here. So
welcome, but before we dig in, okay, Sharon, tell me how you
shine brightly each day.
I help speakers and entrepreneurs to speak, inspire
and prosper.
You absolutely do. And so I want you to tell us,
okay, this mute girl. Tell us about the mute girl that was shy
and and kind of not really the person that I've met and know
and is outgoing and and so caring and creative.
Well, when I was 15 years old, I had been bullied
from the time I was really, really tiny, the big
neighborhood bully took a very big interest in me and so by the
time I was 15, I was dealing with this by going mute, and I
basically almost never spoke to anyone. So in English class when
I was 15 years old, I got put in the group with the popular girl
to give a presentation. And the popular girl goes, Sharon, I'm
supposed to give a presentation with Sharon. That kid can't even
talk. And the whole class turned and stared at me like they were
going, Who is this kid? We never even noticed her before. She's
so quiet. And I could feel my face getting hot, and I
stuttered and I stammered, and as usual, I couldn't think of
anything to say, because at that point, I still believe the
bully, and I still thought that nothing I had to say would ever
be good enough for anybody else to hear. But that was my
breakthrough moment, because that was the moment that made me
go, Oh, my God, I love people. I need to break out of my shell.
How am I going to get break out of my shell? Well, I also needed
to get away from the bully. And at one point, well, when I was
small, I was really good runner. I was the fastest runner in my
class, actually, so it was good motivation. But then he shot up,
and he got very, very tall, and so by the time I was about 13, I
realized I need, like a plane or a train to get away from this
bully. I thought, Huh, wait a minute. I started going on
exchanges, and I went to Quebec and Lacher fancy Pascal, cc has
taken a day she can add them. So I learned French as a result of
going to Quebec to get away from the bully. And then I went to
Germany. They saying Deutsche land also much. And I learned
German again, thanks to the big neighborhood bully. And then I
went to Costa Rica eso in Costa Rica, totally in Canada. And so
I learned four languages thanks to the big neighborhood bully.
So after that, my cousin Ted. I didn't realize this, but my
cousin Ted had come out to his family. Things did not go well,
and he took his own life. So I was absolutely devastated. This
was one of the guys who actually helped me. He was probably the
most helpful in helping me to. Overcome my near mate shyness
and start to speak again. He would listen to me. I remember
him going like this one time and really considering what I had to
say. And I remember thinking he's listening to me like I'm a
human being. And this thought just kind of went through my
head. And then I thought, Hello, I am a human being. Why am I so
shocked by this? So I learned that he was one of many LGBTQ
youth who took his own life after he came out. So it didn't
go well, and I was absolutely devastated. So I set a goal to
inspire and empower over a million people to save lives of
bullied LGBTQ youth. I started researching the secrets of the
world's greatest speakers and the world's greatest leaders to
greatest leaders to overcome my near me, China's and so I could
help people like Ted. I didn't even know until after he was
gone, that he was part of the LGBT community. Most people in
the LGBT community look like everybody else, and most people
you're never going to know. 56% of the population is LGBTQ, and
there's five words that you can say that can save lives. Do you
know what those five words are?
I don't tell me because your hand,
I like LGBTQ plus people, just I like LGBTQ plus
people. Chances are someone you love is LGBTQ, and they need to
hear it. I wish someone would have told me this long before
Ted took his own life. There's a lot of people in the community
who are really struggling, and they need to hear those words.
And some of those people are people you love. So I set this
vision. I'm gonna save lives of bullied, LGBTQ youth. I'm gonna
inspire a million people. But I didn't know how well someone
invited me to Facebook, and I thought, Oh, this is it. This is
how I can do it. I'll inspire a million people on Facebook. So I
started a group, and I got five people, and I kept at it, and I
kept at it, and I kept putting new groups up and posting them
and learning things. And I started getting dozens of
people, and then I started getting hundreds of people. And
then I created a group called declare UN human rights for all
sexual orientations. We still do not have UN human rights for all
sexual orientations, but that group got 5000 people, and I
translated into Spanish, French, English and German. Then one
day, I did this really deep spiritual process where I was
taking everything I needed to all the shame, all the guilt,
all the anything that that, all the bullying, I was letting go,
letting it go, letting go. The next day, I woke up and I went,
Oh, that we can find a million people who support same sex
marriage. By the end of the day, there were 1000 people, and then
there were five and then the next day there were 2000 and
then there were 4000 then there were 8000 it was doubling and
doubling and doubling. And by this time, I was bilingual
corporate learning manager at Craft Canada. I came home from
work one day there were 500,000 more people than the day before,
and it was like this. Click Refresh, there's 10,000 more
people. Click Refresh, there's 10,000
more people again. Oh, my God, viral. It went viral. Oh
my god. It was incredible. The whole wall was
scrolling back. And this is the old fashioned Facebook walls.
And it's like, Yes, I love I love this. Yes, yes, marriage is
human, right? Yeah, I want my gay grandsons to get married.
Yeah, I love my gay moms. There was love pouring in from around
the world. And youth that went there and posted for two years.
It was a safe space. Youth that went there from around the world
got instant support from around the world. It was beautiful. And
then somebody said, I want to sign a petition. I went
petition. Okay, I threw together a petition. We got 60,000
petition signatures, more than a multi million dollar charity for
the same cause. I sent that off to the White House. Within five
years, we won marriage equality across North America. They
already had it in Ken at the time, but they won it in the
States as well. And this was part of that massive movement,
and it helped to galvanize the entire community.
I want to stop there and just acknowledge
something so just just because this is absolutely incredible,
and I know the show moves fast, but I just want to take a second
mute girl bullied, okay, a very dear close friend of yours took
his life from suicide, you know, after being able disclosing or
coming out, and then you put together this group that just
went viral, okay, to be able To give a safe space for people in
the LGBT and Q communities, and that's absolutely incredible.
It's really, I just want to acknowledge how incredible that
is, that you've given a voice and again, in the shining
brightly language of my book and how I actually conduct myself, I
call living in some of that stuff. Darkness and light, you
beamed massive amounts of light throughout the world and got
stuff done. Bravo. Really incredible.
Thank you. It was really exciting. I'll never
forget some of the beautiful things that happened in that
group and and it was just super exciting to see the whole
community galvanized with love and the love that poured in from
mostly straight people who supported the movement. So it
was, it was just beautiful. And then, well, after that, I was
talking with someone from the Youth Business Center, and she
said, You know what, we have been trying for years to get
funding for this business center, not a cent goose egg,
nothing. You help us to get funding. We'll give you a full
time job. How about we'll start with something part time? And I
thought, okay, great. And then one day, she came to me and she
said, Oh, I'm meeting with the funder. I'd already met with the
funder myself. She said, You're the one to run this program.
You're so inspiring, you're so fun, you're so excited. Yeah,
you're the one who runs this program. And I thought, I don't
have I thought, I don't have a space. So I went and
collaborated with the Youth Business Center and and she
said, yeah, we'll give you this full time job. So later, my boss
said, I'm going to be meeting with Fran story. That's the that
was the head of hrsdc human resource Skills Development
Canada. At the time, I'm gonna meet with her on Thursday
morning. And I went Thursday morning. I'm not in. It's a tomb
in here. On Thursday morning, there's nobody. There's
nothing's gonna be happening. How are they gonna get funding?
Wait a minute, I'm gonna do presentation. I'm gonna bring in
all of the youth that I've been working with and showcase. We're
going to create a presentation, a showcase together. So instead
of walking into a tomb, she's going to walk in and see this
kaleidoscope of passion and energy. And that's exactly what
happened. She walked in. It smelled great. There was a
caterer that was one of the youth. And there was, there was
all kinds of there were sculptures, there was
multimedia, there was, you name it, it was happening. She walked
in and she did this. And inside, I was going, Yes, I know we got
the money. I know we got the funding. This is awesome. This
is going to help these youth so much. Outside, I was very calm
and cool and collected, and I just nodded very, very calmly. I
know this is going to help you. They got $400,000 of funding
soon after that, and every year ever since, to my knowledge,
still going strong, it's over $7 million it may be over $8
million by now, because it's been over 17 years ago that that
happened. Yeah,
it's absolutely incredible. It's a beautiful
story.
Thank you
so just so good. I want to tell you that it's, you
know, I have to tell you, there's a lot of stuff that I
ignorance going on in the world, and there's hate going on in the
world. But I'm not in that camp. I'm in the camp with Sharon,
with inclusion. The tent is big enough for all of us to love thy
brother, Love thy sister, okay, show some respect, show some
values. That makes us human, and so we are together. And I just
want to tell you that that's, that's shining greatly, that's,
that's really what we're here to do, and to do that, and you do
that exquisitely. So thank you for that. So Tell, tell me a
little bit about some of the programs that you are running
now, and what are some actions that are the audience can take,
kind of stepping into it immediately.
Sure, there are three ways that you can speak,
inspire and prosper. A lot of people, they instantly think of
presentations. But they and they think, Oh, I don't know. I'm not
really into presentations. Don't worry. If you don't like
presentations, that's fine. You can speak, inspire and prosper
by giving presentations, either live or online. If you love it,
if you don't love it, don't do it. Instead, you can do create
online courses, or you can do coaching and VIP coaching and
consulting, especially if you call yourself a consultant, you
can just that one word. You can charge 100 times more than you
can as a coach. So if you do coaching, consulting, or course,
creation or presentations, those are all ways that you can be
earning great money by making a difference. And you can do that
live. You can do that online, and you can even go and do it in
retreats in Costa Rica, and that's part of why I'm here in
Costa Rica now. So those are three ways. So choose one to
start and get focused, and once that one's going really strong,
then you can start to expand and add others. I'm going to suggest
that everyone try something right now, if you're not driving
operating machinery. I'm going to suggest trying this. Put your
hands on your heart. Take a deep breath. Imagine which of those
three things you love the most, and imagine you just had a
massive breakthrough. You just attracted. It over $7 million
and feel what that feels like in your heart. So you can support
whatever causes you love if you want to create a kinder,
greener, LGBT, friendlier world for all, that's my mission, and
you can support all of those causes if you've got an extra $7
million to play with. So breathe into your heart and say, I
speak, inspire and prosper.
I speak, I inspire and I prosper, yeah, and I mean
it
Inspire and prosper.
I speak, inspire and prosper,
prosper one more time. I speak, inspire and
prosper,
yeah, and adding move is going to make that even
even stronger. We're about to also launch something new called
Rich miracles TV. And if anybody wants more information on that,
there are free gifts in@speakinspire.com so you can
get more secrets of how to speak inspire and prosper for
free@speakinspire.com and you can book a call with me if you
would like to be on rich miracles TV, then we can talk
about that, or speak inspire TV. Then we can talk about that and
also offer consulting.
You've got some meditation links, and you've got
lots of goodies there to go reach out, and lots of reasons
to to reach out for you as well. Can share with me you did when
we first met, but tell me who are your role models?
Oh, wow. I like well, there's so many. Sarah
Blakely, Oprah, Winfrey Nelson, Mandela, Ellen, DeGeneres,
Portia de Rossi, there's so many, it's really hard to
choose. That's okay, yeah,
I love it. And I think Sarah Blakely came out
with the high heel, like slip in sneaker. I just, she just, she's
so innovative. You should check that out. It's like a sneaker on
the bottom with a high heel on it. I've never seen it before.
It's so it's just so innovative. It's cool. So these are very
good role models to have. Well, listen, I want you to put on
your sunglasses. Okay, you've got cool shades. Join me here,
because we are going to, this is called the shining brightly
spotlight. All right, okay. We're going to do a little eye
contact too. Look at that. For those that are listening, we're
giving a little eye wink, and the shades are hanging off our
nose a little bit. Looks a little Hollywood, but we're
shining brightly right now. So tell people again the best way
to get in touch with you, and then tell me a little
inspirational quote or story, and we'll close out the show.
Sure, the best way is to go to speakinspire.com
speakinspire.com and you can get free gifts there and or book a
call with me if you think you would like to become a seven
figure speaker. And I want to say you are a hero. You are a
rock star and you deserve to speak, inspire and prosper.
I love it. It's so amazing. I think we were in a
Hollywood set today with the glasses and the glam and all
that, but we're talking serious business. We believe in absolute
inclusion and be able to lift up others as we lift up ourselves.
And that's, that's when we met. I knew that we just had, you
know, spontaneous combustion of alignment and and values and,
and that's I really appreciate about you as well. You've been
actually taking a time out of your day or evening to listen to
the shining brightly podcast. I am grateful for that. And you
know, over 182,000 downloads Keep it coming. We appreciate it
so much. Let me give thanks. And I'm grateful for front edge
publishing. My book publisher, read the spirit magazine that
comes out weekly to over 50,000 people, the podcast crew that
make me look good and amplify you. And diamond moments
magazine, they help me look good and stay good as well. And you
can reach me@shiningbrightly.com and obviously the book is there.
You want me to help your event shine. Please. Let me contact me
as well as this podcast, and really more importantly is my
advocacy, my advocacy in the cancer world, my advocacy with
young entrepreneurs and the interfaith community, including
the LGB community, to actually make us all actually appreciate
each other for who we are, because we are people, and we're
just trying to make the world a better place. So you, too can do
that. So if we choose Okay, and my great grandmother, in chapter
one of my book, said, choose kindness. Every day, it's a
choice. Choose giving, choose gratitude and choose joy, and
you can choose not to hate, okay, it's a choice, so make the
right choice. So if you choose to shine brightly each day for
yourself and then lift up others, I guarantee you will
become a force multiplier for good and positive change in this
world, and it will be a better place. Thank you. Sharon, hot,
high energy. Show. I really appreciate you so much. Thank
you for coming on today.
Thank you, Howard, it's been great. You.
