Welcome to she coaches coaches. I'm your host,
Candy Motzek:Kandi motsek. And I'm going to help you find the clarity,
Candy Motzek:confidence and courage to become the coach that you are meant to
Candy Motzek:be. If you're a new coach, or if you've always wanted to be a
Candy Motzek:life coach, then this is the place for you. We're going to
Candy Motzek:talk all about mindset and strategies and how to, because
Candy Motzek:step by step only works when you have the clarity, courage and
Candy Motzek:confidence to take action. Let's get started. Hi, friend, and
Candy Motzek:welcome to this episode. I'm so glad you're here. So let me ask
Candy Motzek:you this question. Are you a problem solver? Do you find that
Candy Motzek:you spend a lot of time thinking about your problems? dissecting
Candy Motzek:them, analyzing them considering ways to solve them? You might be
Candy Motzek:thinking, I don't know what my niches or I can't start signing
Candy Motzek:clients until I know who I help write? Or how will I get
Candy Motzek:clients? Like how specifically will I get them? Or where
Candy Motzek:exactly do I start? Like, how do I do this? Now, you may pride
Candy Motzek:yourself on being a deep thinker, or super analytical.
Candy Motzek:And that is an amazing skill for you to be able to use your brain
Candy Motzek:in that way. But I want to lend you another perspective here as
Candy Motzek:well. Now back in episode 33, called Grow your coaching
Candy Motzek:business like a garden, I spoke about how it helps to think of
Candy Motzek:your coaching business like a garden, you want to create a
Candy Motzek:good foundation, good nutritious soil, carefully plant those
Candy Motzek:seeds, water and nurture those little seedlings. And reminding
Candy Motzek:you that the aim is to create a garden or a coaching practice,
Candy Motzek:filled with all kinds of amazing vegetables and fruit that you
Candy Motzek:will harvest in good time. And those are all the amazing
Candy Motzek:clients that are going to come and work with you in good time.
Candy Motzek:So let's think about problems. And every time I think about a
Candy Motzek:problem, sometimes it has this feeling of a little bit of
Candy Motzek:nervousness, a problem could be a little pocket of fear. Now,
Candy Motzek:fear in and of itself is not a problem. It's a completely
Candy Motzek:natural emotion, and we listen to it. And then we can choose
Candy Motzek:the best course of action, sometimes may, why we might want
Candy Motzek:to hang back. Sometimes we might just acknowledge that we're
Candy Motzek:feeling the firt fear and do it anyway. Now, some of these fears
Candy Motzek:are the way your brain tries to keep you safe from moving
Candy Motzek:forward, right? If your brain says, Oh, you must have a niche
Candy Motzek:completely figured out. Before you can have clients, then
Candy Motzek:you're going to spend a lot of time focusing on finding your
Candy Motzek:niche. Instead of getting out there and coaching people and
Candy Motzek:letting your niche find you. The more you coach, the more you're
Candy Motzek:going to find your groove. And then you're going to discover
Candy Motzek:what you like to coach on most. And voila, you will have
Candy Motzek:discovered your niche. But if you allow your fear to hold you
Candy Motzek:back, you'll never discover it in the same way. Makes sense,
Candy Motzek:right?
Candy Motzek:I'd like to go back to this metaphor of the garden.
Candy Motzek:Sometimes your brain wants to keep you tangled up in fear and
Candy Motzek:all the busyness and it's like it's taken seeds, weed seeds,
Candy Motzek:like a package of weed seeds and sprinkle them all over your
Candy Motzek:magnificent garden. And as those weeds sprout, here's you here's
Candy Motzek:me sometimes to looking down at the ground, looking away from
Candy Motzek:your plants that are growing. And you're tempted to start
Candy Motzek:plucking every single little weed. And in the middle of doing
Candy Motzek:that, plucking every weed looking everywhere where you
Candy Motzek:might find one looking down at the ground, you're forgetting
Candy Motzek:that you're actually growing a magnificent garden, and that the
Candy Motzek:aim is to grow a garden and harvest it and not to be on your
Candy Motzek:hands and knees in the weeds. So when you're intently focused on
Candy Motzek:pulling all those little weed seedlings, you're not tending to
Candy Motzek:the plants that you planted intentionally. You're not
Candy Motzek:pruning them. You're not harvesting the fruit. You're not
Candy Motzek:being thankful for the veggies that are already growing. You're
Candy Motzek:stuck at the level of the weeds. You're lost in those little
Candy Motzek:problems. And for God that your vision is to grow a crop, a
Candy Motzek:harvest of a Raising vegetables. Now, of course, every garden is
Candy Motzek:going to have weeds. But where are you looking? Are you looking
Candy Motzek:at the problems, the weeds? Or are you looking at your vision,
Candy Motzek:your dream, the amazing crop of vegetables that you're growing,
Candy Motzek:of course, you do need to solve some problems and keep the weeds
Candy Motzek:under control, but not at the expense of tending to your
Candy Motzek:harvest. Focus on the solution on the goal on your vision of a
Candy Motzek:magnificent garden, instead of always being down on your hands
Candy Motzek:and knees, trying to pick up every single microscopic weed.
Candy Motzek:Now, if you're listening, and you realize that maybe, just
Candy Motzek:maybe you sometimes get stuck in the weeds, and you're not sure
Candy Motzek:how to get out, here's what I recommend. Stand up. Yeah,
Candy Motzek:literally, if you can, right now physically stand up and take a
Candy Motzek:deep breath, get grounded and centered in your body. Focus and
Candy Motzek:feel your feet on the ground, feel the energy moving through
Candy Motzek:your body. And remember why you're doing this. Why is this
Candy Motzek:important? If you're like most of the amazing people that I
Candy Motzek:know, you want to make a difference and make money. You
Candy Motzek:want to have a positive impact on the world and feel free. You
Candy Motzek:want to coach you want clients and you know that this is what
Candy Motzek:you're meant to be doing. So connect with your vision. And if
Candy Motzek:you're still in doubt, the first step for any coach, whether
Candy Motzek:you're a brand new coach just starting out, or you're a coach
Candy Motzek:has been here for a while and you're getting a little bit
Candy Motzek:stalled in your growth. The first step is always to coach.
Candy Motzek:Yeah, I want you to coach and coach and coach some more, get
Candy Motzek:great at your craft, find people invite them to coach with you.
Candy Motzek:If it needs to be free to start out with fine. If you only want
Candy Motzek:to charge a small amount, that's fine to just start coaching
Candy Motzek:real, live humans, help them, show up for them, hold space for
Candy Motzek:them and start making a difference. And you're going to
Candy Motzek:find pretty soon that some of those little problem, weeds are
Candy Motzek:just going to solve themselves. And then you'll also be
Candy Motzek:surprised to find out that some of those weeds don't even
Candy Motzek:matter. As you create clients and you're focused on helping
Candy Motzek:your clients, pretty soon, you're going to have more demand
Candy Motzek:for your service than you have space. And once you've created
Candy Motzek:demand, then you can begin to raise your rates. And that's why
Candy Motzek:I don't worry that if you decide to start for free or a small
Candy Motzek:amount, I know that once you start to fill your calendar, you
Candy Motzek:can always raise your rates. Hey, I appreciate that you guys
Candy Motzek:are here. And I appreciate that you're
