Maintaining your relationship while raising a family isn’t easy. Even the best relationships can be impacted. I know first-hand how good it feels to have a partnership with your spouse in parenting and in life, but my husband and I have also struggled.
My guest, Kimberly Beam Holmes, is here to help us through these ups and downs (using lots of acronyms! ;)). We talk about the steps that we (unknowingly) went through when we fell in love with our spouses, and how getting back to these basics can help us save a troubled marriage.
The formula for falling in love is four stages:
Stage 1 is all about attraction - physical, intellectual, emotional, and spiritual
Stage 2 is accepting your partner for who they are
Stage 3 is about your attachment to the other person
Stage 4 is your aspirations for the future. Our marriages are all about aspirations at the beginning but then we get into the “stay the course” stage and thats where life begins to pull us apart. Having shared relationship and family goals can be one of the keys to staying together.
We also talk about how pandemic life has put new and increased pressures on our relationships. It’s forced us to confront our issues instead of shoving them under the rug.
Kimberly shares so many insightful tips that you will walk away with some tangible steps to making your marriage better
