This is an episode that EVERY parent needs to listen to. Pornography is simply, picture poison and is a health crisis we can’t ignore. Any child with a device has access to porn. By the age of 12, it’s extremely rare for a child not to have seen a pornographic image according to my guest and author, Kristen Jenson. There are SO MANY reasons why you NEED to teach your children to reject porn.
Did you know that Porn has a special grip on us because we are naturally wired to be interested and curious? It's a biological reality and when young children see it, it sexualizes our children pre-maturely.
Ignoring this issue or thinking your child won’t be affected, doesn't prevent your child from seeing it. If you haven’t had a conversation with your kids, when they see it, they’ll be caught off guard and don't know what to do! Open up a dialogue with your kids before now or before they see it.
The benefits of good porn refusal techniques can keep you kids safe from sexual predators because they use pornography to groom children and desensitize/normalize it so it’s easier to abuse the child.
Listen in as Kristen talks about how we need to give kids a definition for what pornography is, then we give them a warning and a plan of action. Listen to Kristen’s plan for young kids with "Turn, Run Tell" and older kids “Can DO”.
