It’s every parent’s worst nightmare…to find out someone has physically or sexually abused your child. It’s gut wrenching, heartbreaking; enraging. Unfortunately it’s a topic we have to talk to our children about so they know what to do, and who to tell. But of course, it’s not as easy as that.
My guest, Dr. Tiffanie Tate is an abuse survivor who wants to help parents and kids to know what to do if they are faced with the unthinkable. In this episode we talk about what to do if someone tries to touch you (from the child’s perspective), who is a safe adult to talk to that will take action on their behalf, and that under no circumstances it’s ever the child’s fault.
We talk about this and so much more. It’s a heavy topic but Dr. Tiffanie, has a beautiful way of simplifying it so you can feel comfortable talking to your kids about it.
One thing to mention, is that you won’t necessarily know if a child has or is being abused so sharing Dr. Tiffanie’s book, handout and this episode, will really help someone. Please share with the loved ones in your life.

About Dr. Tiffanie Tate
Dr. Tiffanie Tate is a board certified Obgyn who pursued writing as her passion after she was medically retired after sustaining a hand injury. Her first book was titled FloweTry: a collection of 108 Poetic Flows on Life, Love, and Liturgical Issues. That book was written to inspire and encourage people. She loves to give back to the community and is often giving lectures in the community or to medical residents on different topics. She is an active member in her local church and sorority and is a is a veteran officer of the United States Navy. Her current book Bad Touching is to help children understand and report abuse. She will have another children’s book published later this year to help children address bullying.
