I’m now a mom of two teen boys and BOY have things changed in the way we communicate and interact with each other! It’s natural and normal that our kids start to pull away from us around the age of 11 (yes, that soon!) but it doesn’t mean they don’t need us! In fact, it’s essential that we maintain or create deep connection with our kids…but it’s not that easy.
Thankfully, we have author, Michelle Icard and her book, 14 Talks by Age 14, to help us navigate this time of independence (one minute) and dependence (the next minute).
In this episode we talk about:
o Begin peacefully
o Relate to your kid
o Interview to collect data
o Echo what you hear
o Feedback
Michelle’s book, 14 Talks by Age 14 – The Essential Conversations You Need to Have With Your Kids Before They Start High School is available wherever books are sold.
