After being diagnosed with three life threatening autoimmune diseases, Shiva began her pursuit of healing and clean living. She started her lifestyle website The Local Rose in 2009 to document her journey and the skin care line evolved from her kundalini meditation practice. She left California her home state in 2020 and now resides in Hill Country Texas on wild land where she grows medicinal herbs with her partner and younger daughter.
