How often do you allow yourself to pivot and forge new paths to establish fresh traditions that align with your desires, rather than following what has come before? As we gather around the warmth of familiar celebrations or venture into new territory, this reflection becomes pertinent, especially during significant holidays.
In this episode of Mystical Sisterhood, I want to delve into the themes of commitments, traditions, and the importance of honoring your current journey.
As someone who celebrates both Christmas and Hanukkah, I understand the art of blending traditions. In my household, we've become flexible, letting go of certain customs when they no longer make sense and embracing new traditions that fit who we are today. For me, deciding what to discuss in my podcast when it aired on Christmas and Hanukkah was initially daunting. But it was also a chance to embrace these days like any other and weave in themes relevant to the new year without being bound by conventional expectations.
Significant holidays can be a profound reminder of loss. For those grieving, it's crucial to hold space for emotions. Holidays evoke memories, amplifying the absence of loved ones and creating moments of sadness amidst the celebration. Honor your feelings by lighting a candle, sharing stories, or simply giving yourself permission to feel.
At the heart of all this, remember that these traditions, both new and old, should reflect and respect who you are now. Change is part of growth, and it’s essential to honor this evolution.
As we transition out of 2024 and look towards the new year, let’s carry these reflections with us. This past year for Mystical Sisterhood has been a journey of growth, filled with incredible discussions and insights on living our best lives. I’m thrilled to step into 2025 with you and continue this exploration.
Wishing you all a season filled with love, intention, and the courage to forge your own path. Happy holidays and let’s meet again, renewed, in the new year.
