Victoria Wieck begins the show with a poem by Langston Hughes about what happens when our dreams die. She continues with a story about herself as a little girl living in South Korea, yearning to find out what was beyond the horizon, and wondering if America, the promised land, a place where all dreams can come true. Victoria shares how even when things look so bleak at times, it was important to never give up hope because nothing can overpower your passion and a burning desire to succeed. She documents how some of the most successful companies in the world got started with during economic meltdowns, natural disasters, or devasting wars by people who kept their hopes and dreams alive. Victoria lays out the case that now, in the middle of a pandemic, is a good time to rethink our priorities, and work on a path to living our dream life. According to Confucius, a journey of a thousand miles begins with the first step. Victoria believes that the first step is to define your dream life. For her, it was being able to spend time with her family, make a living with her passion, jewelry design, and make enough money to have a little bit left over for a rainy day. What are key factors that determine your dream life?
