In this episode, I am joined by professional dog trainer Brenda Aloff. She is a nationally and internationally recognized speaker, clinician and author. She’ll be answering a student’s question about how to keep horses and dogs safe around each other. Brenda is also an equestrian so she is the perfect person to ask! If you have dogs and horses you’ll really enjoy this conversation.
About the Guest:
Brenda Aloff is a nationally and internationally recognized speaker, clinician and author. At clinics, she is known for straight-forward talk, a passion to make the daily lives of dogs better through promoting better relationships between dogs and their owners and a fun-loving sense of humor.
Bringing 27+ years of practical and “in the trenches” experience to the table, Brenda works primarily with problem dogs and performance and working dogs.
Brenda also has a variety of online classes, short courses and video educational opportunities on the website at www.brendaaloff.com. The topics are as varied as dog training itself, including Canine Body Language, raising puppies and training puppies in the whelping nest for Breeders, Learning Theory, Performance and Working Dog training programs and protocols.
Living with dogs is not always easy! Brenda knows the “problem dog” group well, having lived with several bad actors and delinquents herself (Terriers, Guarding Dogs). This allows her to bring an intimate knowledge of how to deal with dogs and what can be done to prevent problems from developing.
Brenda has taught thousands of group classes, from puppy to advanced competition to re-socialization classes for reactive dogs.
Brenda’s area of specialization is problem behavior in canines. A large percentage of her practice consists of dogs that are referred when other training techniques have been exhausted or failed. A high percentage of clientele consists of dogs with aggression problems.
Brenda has shown in a variety of Performance Dog Events, herself, and has provided consultations, clinics and lessons to at-the-top-of-the-game trainers in Obedience, Agility, Protection Work, SAR, Service Dog Organizations, and Police Working Dogs.
