Kids are spending too much time in front of the screens now more than ever. According to the American Academy of Pediatrics, kids are now spending an average of seven hours a day on passive screen time including watching TV, playing Video Games or Watching YouTube. In this episode I welcome Simer Grewal and she shares what parents need to understand how important STEM knowledge is in this era. Computer Science not only gets them ready for the future, but also encourages kids to be creative, focused and boosts their confidence.

She had a deeper purpose. Growing up in India in the 80’s and 90’s, knowledge of computer science especially for girls; was not as important or valuable than a doctor or engineer. Defying all norms, she got a degree in computer science and moved to North America to follow her dream of teaching kids; especially girls computer science.
