Losing a close friend to suicide while in grade school presented Danielle Williams with problems bigger than she knew how to handle, leading to a heartbreaking habit of cutting. Years later, now a young mother, Danielle found herself in a physically and mentally abusive relationship which she barely escaped.
Survival is often a bar of success, but that standard isn’t enough for Danielle whose achievements include supporting several business openings and leading her MassageLuxe location to a #1 franchise ranking.
About the Guest:
Danielle Williams is the General Manager of MassageLuXe Ann Arbor. She, with the help of her amazing team, has grown their franchise to #1 in the country in less than a year. She has helped open multiple businesses in the Ann Arbor area, including Ruth’s Chris Steakhouse, Hyatt Place Ann Arbor and now MassageLuXe. She has a passion for networking and forming relationships with people from all walks of life. One of her greatest joys is being different from your typical boss.
“I don’t micro-manage. I trust my staff to do their jobs well and if anything needs to be corrected they know it’s coming from a place of love and my desire to see them be the best at what they do. I take the style or character traits of any bad boss I’ve ever had... and I do the opposite of that.”
Danielle finds that compassion and understanding is part of what helps her team stay motivated, and why her employee retention rate is so high. Danielle is competitive by nature, and strives to keep her team in that #1 spot.
When she’s not at work, Danielle is cheering on her 8 year old son David at his baseball games, or playing softball on a co-ed team in Brighton with her husband. Being active is a huge part of her life. During the state shut down, she received her ISSA Personal Trainer Certification and completed 3 5k races! She and he husband Dan love to travel and go on adventures as often as they can. Last year they did a cross-state 5k bonanza! They started in Grand Rapids with a Color Run and ended in Detroit with the Night Nation 5k at Ford Field. Danielle speaks 3 foreign languages, Spanish, Italian and French (but her French is terrible!), and dreams of traveling to the Amalfi Coast someday with her husband and son. Her best piece of advice, and favorite quote is “in a world where you can be anything, be kind”.
