Melissa Deally:

Welcome back to another episode of health hack today's episode 400, I cannot believe I have done 400 of these. Thank you for tuning in, and using these as small steps that you can implement in order to support your health, because if you don't have your health, what have you got? And today, I want to continue talking about the correlation between getting optimal sleep and weight management. And another reason why getting optimal sleep supports weight management is the fact that there is a correlation between sleep and your insulin. And when you're getting good levels of sleep, you have improved insulin sensitivity and blood sugar regulation. In addition to that, it also helps to reduce cravings for unhealthy foods because your body needs energy, obviously, and you get that from sleep, or food. And if you're not getting enough sleep, then your brain sends you a signal that you need energy. And that's when you're reaching for quick fixes, like sugary snacks, the chocolate bar mid afternoon and the sugary doughnut or muffin in the morning. So if you instead choose to prioritize getting the right amount of sleep for you at your age, then you will do much better in terms of being able to manage your weight. So if you're struggling with your weight, consider looking at your sleep improving your sleep in order to support your journey with getting to your ideal weight. And I talked about Part One of why sleep and weight management are correlated in the last episode episode 399. So if you haven't watched that, go back and pick up on those tips as well.
