Chuck Anderson,
00:00 - Recording Started
Hello, everybody, and, welcome back. This is the Creative Collaboration
Speaker:
Show. Chuck Anderson here, and this is the show where we
Speaker:
help business owners, solopreneurs, coaches,
Speaker:
whatever you call yourself, with tips
Speaker:
and advice and strategies that can help you to grow
Speaker:
your business. And I'd say one thing that's unique about our
Speaker:
audience is that usually they have a big idea, a big
Speaker:
vision on how they wanna change the world. Now as
Speaker:
you're going forward with that vision, you're gonna spend a lot
Speaker:
of time and a lot of energy trying to get that vision
Speaker:
out there in a big, big way. And that's what we're gonna talk about
Speaker:
today. You know, how does your health, how does your energy, how does
Speaker:
your vitality weigh in on the
Speaker:
results that you're experiencing in your business. And
Speaker:
today, I have an expert on that who's going to,
Speaker:
help give us some advice and some strategies so that we
Speaker:
can, manage ourselves, so we can manage our business
Speaker:
better. So my guest today is Deepak Saini,
Speaker:
who specializes in helping entrepreneurs
Speaker:
manage their health, their vitality, their energy,
Speaker:
and I'm sure a whole lot of other things that we're gonna cover today. So,
Speaker:
Deepak, I'm so happy that you're here. Welcome. Thank you, Chuck. I'm
Speaker:
I'm super excited to be here with you today. Yeah. I'm
Speaker:
excited as well because, you know and and we were talking about this in
Speaker:
in in sort of, like, before the recording went on. I mean, this whole thing
Speaker:
about entrepreneurs, you know, being on this big
Speaker:
mission and big vision and big idea, it's
Speaker:
not uncommon for us to work a lot of hours,
Speaker:
burn the candle at both ends, and
Speaker:
maybe prioritize the business over our health.
Speaker:
And so it's a really, I think, a good topic, and it's
Speaker:
one that we probably don't talk enough about. So, you know, as a
Speaker:
starting point, why don't you tell everybody a little bit about, you know, your story?
Speaker:
I know you you are also entrepreneurial.
Speaker:
And so yeah. How did this all begin? And, let's
Speaker:
go from there. Yeah. Abs abs absolutely. So I, I'm a CPA
Speaker:
by First Profession. So accountant, worked in, you know, corporate,
Speaker:
corporate world for 20, plus years. I always
Speaker:
struggled with my health my entire life. I was always the chubby
Speaker:
kid. At 18 years old, I was morbidly obese, £100
Speaker:
heavier than I am now. I would get chronically sick, chronic
Speaker:
infections, bronchitis, etcetera, as a kid. That went right well into adulthood.
Speaker:
I'd get sick for 3 to 4 weeks at a time, like, 4 to 5
Speaker:
times a year. That's a big chunk of your year. We were, like, always sick.
Speaker:
But where it really came to head for me was in 2014. Our
Speaker:
youngest daughter, was just born. She was a baby, and I hurt my
Speaker:
back such that I had no flexion, meaning I could not bend over at
Speaker:
the waist. I could not pick up a £10 baby out of her
Speaker:
crib. It's very painful to, you know, put on your socks,
Speaker:
shoes, you know, get in and out of a chair, which includes the toilet. It
Speaker:
was it was no way no way to live. I like to say the Western
Speaker:
medical system did me no favors, kinda wasted 18 months of my health.
Speaker:
So I found all, you know, alternative means to heal my back, you know,
Speaker:
primarily that was my number one goal. Heal my back so I can play with
Speaker:
my children. But in doing so, I also made some lifestyle changes. And lo and
Speaker:
behold, I did heal my back. My autoimmune condition that was never
Speaker:
properly diagnosed went into remission. I essentially haven't really been sick in, like, 10
Speaker:
years, at least not to a level that I was before. And
Speaker:
the last 60 of the £100 melted away. You know, it was, you know, my
Speaker:
colleagues, coworkers, friends are last me, like, how did you do it? How did you
Speaker:
do it? Of course, people never see the internal struggle. Nobody sees the the the
Speaker:
depression or the anxiety and all these types of things. They just saw the weight
Speaker:
loss. So, yeah, after people ask me, and I'm sort of informally
Speaker:
mentoring them and that sort of thing, I said, I actually kinda
Speaker:
like this. So, yeah, I went and got some early certifications, and working with
Speaker:
people who were like me at that time, weight loss, back pain. And
Speaker:
and then, after, you know, about, you know, a year and a half of kind
Speaker:
of doing that as what we what we now call a side hustle, nobody called
Speaker:
that back then. I decided to branch out and actually do this as a business
Speaker:
and be an entrepreneur like many of the listeners, here. And, of course, it's been
Speaker:
it's been a struggle, and I've learned a lot of things along the way. And
Speaker:
like you said, Chuck, one of the things is, you know, pouring it all into
Speaker:
your business, trying to build something great at maybe the
Speaker:
expense of our own health. And if not at our own health, again, coming
Speaker:
from overcoming my many health challenges, I made it a priority to
Speaker:
really take my self care into account. But maybe it's your
Speaker:
relationships that suffer because you're working those long hours. You're going back
Speaker:
to the office, your home office, whatever it may be after dinner, these
Speaker:
sorts of things. So, again, that's kinda how I work with my clients now is
Speaker:
to have that work life balance so their health is prioritized,
Speaker:
their relationships so they can actually have it pour into their business.
Speaker:
You know, relationships, come into it,
Speaker:
so often when in the business coaching that I do, so many
Speaker:
conversations I have with entrepreneurs is that they started their business because they
Speaker:
wanted to have a better life for their family and better relationships with
Speaker:
their family. And then we end up realizing we're
Speaker:
there's a grind. We have to work more hours than we did when we had
Speaker:
jobs, and those relationships suffer even when we're working from
Speaker:
home. And so, yeah, I can completely relate to,
Speaker:
all of that. And, a
Speaker:
lot of times, the business comes first, relationships and
Speaker:
health and and all of that come later. I'd
Speaker:
say second, but, honestly, sometimes it's when there's
Speaker:
time. And and so that's not even
Speaker:
second. Right? Absolutely. I'm sure many of the listeners
Speaker:
can appreciate, you know, we're talking off air before you hit the
Speaker:
record button about, like, some, you know, some vacation time we took and etcetera,
Speaker:
etcetera. How many how many people who are listening can, you know, raise your hand
Speaker:
virtually, if you're like, yeah. I did a little bit of work while I was
Speaker:
on vacation or I was doing something on the plane and, sitting at everyone with
Speaker:
the family who's at the beach or the pool, and I just snuck in to
Speaker:
do a a networking call or whatever. Right? Like, I think many people are nodding
Speaker:
their heads here. And we have to make that time
Speaker:
for not only our family who turns around and helps
Speaker:
rejuvenate us, but also our own personal health, whatever whatever that looks like for you.
Speaker:
Getting a massage, yoga, doing your workout, sleeping.
Speaker:
Right? Yeah. You know, it's interesting
Speaker:
because I took nearly 2 weeks off, and it had been a
Speaker:
long time since I had done that. And I still
Speaker:
feel like I only scratched the surface on the rest that I
Speaker:
needed. And at the same time, it
Speaker:
highlighted issues in the business where
Speaker:
it really couldn't
Speaker:
survive without me for much longer than that. In fact,
Speaker:
I probably should have only taken 1 week off and not 2. So it
Speaker:
highlighted some issues there. 1 is in the business with the systems and
Speaker:
and whatnot and then and our team, but also the
Speaker:
fact that I did take a break for a couple of weeks and still felt
Speaker:
tired. And so I think it kind of speaks to, you
Speaker:
know, how it kind of builds up. And I remember journaling
Speaker:
that, I needed to plan more
Speaker:
breaks throughout this year because I feel like there's still
Speaker:
some rest to be done. Is that something that you, hear a lot
Speaker:
or experience a lot in terms of Absolutely. The amount of rest that us business
Speaker:
owners need? Yeah. There's a, you know, a couple things in what you said
Speaker:
there, Chuck. One is, like, how often are you actually actually unplugging,
Speaker:
from, you know, the business, so to speak. It's also taking not
Speaker:
even, like, a week or these longer breaks. Excuse me. But
Speaker:
also, like, you know, maybe it's, you know, the weekend off, and I'll
Speaker:
maybe share a story in a second about that, or whatever that looks like, or
Speaker:
just taking breaks throughout your day. How many people are just going, you know, 8
Speaker:
o'clock or 7 o'clock in the morning until, like, 9 o'clock at
Speaker:
night. Maybe you got a launch coming up or, you know, depending on what your
Speaker:
business looks like. And maybe there's some busier times, and you're just going all out.
Speaker:
And that's, that's very unsustainable in a long period of time. Yeah. You can do
Speaker:
that for, like, a 2 or 3 days in a row, but, like, you can't
Speaker:
go more than that before it's really starting to affect you. Your sleep, as you
Speaker:
mentioned, you're not sleeping well, your anxiety, or you're ruminating
Speaker:
about things that you did that day or that you need to do tomorrow and
Speaker:
need to make that call. I forgot to follow-up with some you know, all these
Speaker:
types of things. So it's super, super important. You know,
Speaker:
we just had, you know I don't know when this podcast can be released, but,
Speaker:
you know, just a few weeks ago was, like, you know, the kind of the
Speaker:
Christmas break. And I was at a family I function with a bunch of my
Speaker:
cousins and and their families and stuff like that. And somebody asked me about my
Speaker:
work schedule as an entrepreneur. I was actually the only entrepreneur of the
Speaker:
group. And, and I said, well, yeah, I almost work
Speaker:
unless I'm on vacation, I almost work every day. Like, oh, hold
Speaker:
on, Deepak. Wait. That where's that work life balance? So, like, I'll put in a
Speaker:
couple hours every day, but and here's the
Speaker:
caveat. I don't work crazy hours. Now have I in the
Speaker:
past? Absolutely. But I've made it a commitment, you know, in back in
Speaker:
20 late 24, soon as after dinner, I'm like,
Speaker:
it's done. I'm not I'm not going back. Everything can wait till tomorrow.
Speaker:
And I also prioritize my self care. So there's a big 2 hour chunk
Speaker:
in the middle of my day, and it varies depending on what's going on in
Speaker:
the day. And right after we get off this call, Chuck, I'm gonna I'm gonna
Speaker:
do my self care routine. If I take 2 hours to work out and
Speaker:
stretch, sit in the sauna, you know, make, you know, healthy meals,
Speaker:
etcetera. So I prioritize that. So, yes, I work every day, but I don't work
Speaker:
12 hours a day. Most days, I'm only working 6, sometimes it's
Speaker:
8. On the weekends, it's maybe 2 or 3. So, again, we all
Speaker:
have to find what's right for us, but that allows me to take care of
Speaker:
my own self care so I can be the best version of me. Both the
Speaker:
best is business owner, the best husband, the best father,
Speaker:
etcetera, etcetera. But also allows me to be there for my
Speaker:
family in the evenings, and and actually have dinner with
Speaker:
them. Yeah. That sounds amazing. Definitely
Speaker:
during the week, I could do I could do better. At least now, I take
Speaker:
1 hour for lunch every day. A good friend of mine,
Speaker:
mentioned that he started doing that and the difference it was making in his
Speaker:
business. And I'm like, yeah. Imagine that. Actually, able to sit down
Speaker:
and have lunch and take a break. Could definitely
Speaker:
do better than that, during the week. And I I
Speaker:
realized, you know, in our family, we used to always take
Speaker:
Sundays off. I mean, we kinda grew up in a religious town, and, you know,
Speaker:
it was very common to do that. I have found for myself, and it took
Speaker:
a long time to figure this out, but Saturdays are my day. Like
Speaker:
like, my body just, I think, needs rest, by that point because I
Speaker:
probably worked myself so hard. And by the by the time
Speaker:
Saturday morning comes around, it's, that's the day. And I
Speaker:
find if I take Saturdays off, I really don't think about
Speaker:
anything that day that that has been helpful. But definitely definitely
Speaker:
need more breaks and and and less time,
Speaker:
spent working. I wanted to ask you because you do
Speaker:
work with, you know, so many business owners and entrepreneurs who are
Speaker:
experiencing this or even ready for change,
Speaker:
what are you hearing from them? Like, where are they at in their journey,
Speaker:
and their level of awareness of how their health
Speaker:
is impacting their business? Is it like a fire alarm, like something
Speaker:
major is going on, or are they being proactive? Like, where are
Speaker:
they in by the time they're reaching out to you?
Speaker:
Yeah. A great question. I love that you brought that word up, awareness.
Speaker:
Right? It's, like, really how aware are we? Many people don't
Speaker:
even realize they have an underlying problem.
Speaker:
And when symptoms come up, sometimes they don't even understand
Speaker:
what this is. And I'll just say this as well. You know, sometimes we get
Speaker:
so used to feeling a certain way, whether it be physically or mentally, that we
Speaker:
forget how normal actually feels, and it just feeling now, it just becomes the
Speaker:
air we breathe. Like, we don't even know any any difference. But to answer your
Speaker:
original question, unfortunately,
Speaker:
most of my clients who come here fall in 1 or 2 camps. 1, it's
Speaker:
the emergency. I'm sick of feeling sick,
Speaker:
whatever that may be. Gut issues, etcetera, you know, skin things
Speaker:
related. And now I've been suffering for 3, 4, even 5
Speaker:
years. And I know it's like, I I know I need to take care of
Speaker:
this. Otherwise, I I'm gonna burn out. I can't I won't be able to put
Speaker:
it into my business. I'm worried the business is gonna go. I won't be able
Speaker:
to keep my staff with the biz you know, all these sorts of things. That's
Speaker:
that's the major one actually I see. The secondary group is,
Speaker:
oh, hey. Grandpa, dad, mom, whatever the
Speaker:
case may be, had x major health issue at age
Speaker:
pick an age. I'm coming up to that age next year. I'm
Speaker:
come to I'm coming up I just turned 55. That's when dad had
Speaker:
his heart attack. Am I on the same course? I'm always
Speaker:
stressed out. I'm doing this. I know there's something here, but it's like that.
Speaker:
It's it's that that check mark date. It's like this this milestone.
Speaker:
Maybe I need to look into things. So they may or may not have symptoms
Speaker:
that they recognize yet, but, like, that's the thing. So it's it's typically one of
Speaker:
those 2. There's some other variations, of course, but it's typically one of those 2.
Speaker:
Fire the fire alarm, 5 bell alarm, or,
Speaker:
I don't know. I'm feeling a little something, and that's when something happened with dad
Speaker:
and grandpa or whatever the case may be. I need to I should look into
Speaker:
things. Yeah. Well, that's interesting because I've had those
Speaker:
exact thoughts because I just turned 54. I'll be 55
Speaker:
later this year. And, you know, it's kind of a benchmark moment even on the
Speaker:
whole, you know, 55 thing. And, you know,
Speaker:
where yeah. Where where was my dad at that point? Where was my
Speaker:
grandfather at that point? And, yeah, those thoughts
Speaker:
do enter your mind for sure. And it's
Speaker:
interesting that you say I mean, the fire alarm, it's like we
Speaker:
push and we push and we push to the
Speaker:
point where our bodies can't take it anymore.
Speaker:
Right? And ignoring things and and and
Speaker:
all of that. And, you know, the business you know, the show must go on.
Speaker:
The business needs me, and all of that. We,
Speaker:
you know, created this situation where we're the vital part of our
Speaker:
business. And it's easy to ignore things for sure.
Speaker:
So it's interesting that and that's why I wanted to ask you, like, where
Speaker:
where are you noticing where people are at when they come to you,
Speaker:
for a couple reasons. 1, if there's anyone listening in right
Speaker:
now that has been tolerating something, you should probably talk to Deepak.
Speaker:
And, you know, let let's it doesn't have to go on that
Speaker:
way. So yeah.
Speaker:
So let's let's unpack that a little bit, in terms of some
Speaker:
of the the takeaways. What are some of the mistakes
Speaker:
that, us business owners are making that's making
Speaker:
that worse? And then then, you know, what do we start
Speaker:
to do about it so that it can be better and we can be better
Speaker:
for our businesses, we can be better for our families, and we can be better
Speaker:
for ourselves? Yeah. Some of the common mistakes is, you know, no
Speaker:
surprises, like, just pushing
Speaker:
through. Like, I need to get this. I need to get to through this quarter.
Speaker:
I need to get through that launch, or my my my book's coming out next
Speaker:
year. And once after after and it's all and this is continuing thing rolling
Speaker:
that and you never get to it till it's like you can't actually bear it
Speaker:
anymore. So it's that not prioritizing and not recognizing. That's probably the
Speaker:
biggest mistake that people make. Second is, you
Speaker:
know, like, that, the quick fix. Like like, that's the general population.
Speaker:
Right? But, you know, entrepreneurs are are no different. It's like, I'll try this.
Speaker:
I saw a a blog post or somebody or some ad came in my Facebook
Speaker:
feed or whatever the case may the quick magic bullet. And I'm sorry. Health our
Speaker:
bodies are very complex systems, and they're interrelated with each other
Speaker:
and doing something. And one part of your body is gonna affect something else
Speaker:
and understand how that works. There's there's no magic bullets. So
Speaker:
trying a bunch of things that are, you know, may
Speaker:
or may not cost a lot, but they're just ineffective, and they're not right for
Speaker:
you. Right? Health is very individualized. So those, I'd say, overall are the the two
Speaker:
biggest things is not really taking the time
Speaker:
to address the root cause because you got something else
Speaker:
going on. Or you're like, I'm too busy, so I'll try this, you know, magic
Speaker:
pill or some topical cream or whatever
Speaker:
the whatever that that thing might may be. There's always something. I mean,
Speaker:
that's that's the whole marketing industry for you. It's a $2,000,000,000,000
Speaker:
industry with a bunch of crap that doesn't actually
Speaker:
work. It doesn't mean it doesn't work for somebody, but it might not work for
Speaker:
you. Right? We're all, again, individualized. And then I think that the thing to
Speaker:
actually overcome this is number 1 is, like, you actually need a
Speaker:
true reflection. Like, I don't want anyone have who have to have that fire
Speaker:
alarm like that like, it was for me or, like, I couldn't pick up my
Speaker:
daughter. Or many of my clients are like are you
Speaker:
know, they literally just can't live. They can't you know, they're
Speaker:
they can't even function after, like, 3 o'clock in the afternoon,
Speaker:
or they gotta be on a bunch of, you know, a ton of caffeine or
Speaker:
something just to get it going. Or they have a 3 day event, and
Speaker:
then they're, like, out of commission because they had to be so jacked up and
Speaker:
so on point doing their 3 day event to, you know, get clients,
Speaker:
whatever, and then they're, like, for, like, a week after because it it's so much,
Speaker:
and their body was bare. They're like, I don't want that for anyone. So,
Speaker:
again, it's recognizing both physically and also
Speaker:
mentally, emotionally where you're at to make
Speaker:
those small steps. And, again, it's not a big thing. It's a bunch of
Speaker:
very small steps in a very succinct way for most people, not
Speaker:
everyone. But if you're at that point, that that 5 bell
Speaker:
alarm, point, it's going to be multiple things,
Speaker:
and you have to kinda coordinate them in a in a in a fashion that
Speaker:
makes sense for you. And a bunch of small things, you know, add up to
Speaker:
a big result, which is getting your health back. Amazing.
Speaker:
You know, that was me. I was one of those people who were doing the
Speaker:
3 day events. And when I started doing 3 day events, by
Speaker:
day 4, I could barely walk. My back
Speaker:
hurt. I needed to sleep for days.
Speaker:
Right? It was easily I had to got to the point where
Speaker:
I knew, and it would just became part of the routine. I knew that on
Speaker:
day 4, I needed to completely unplug that day.
Speaker:
And, and so yeah. And then just
Speaker:
sleep. Right? And couldn't walk, couldn't stand.
Speaker:
Yeah. I I totally appreciate that. And, you know, some people I I think many
Speaker:
everyone's gonna know who Tony Robbins is and probably many of the listeners maybe have
Speaker:
attended one of his events. Tony has a whole team
Speaker:
behind the scenes. When he's not on stage, he's getting
Speaker:
massages. He's, like, in hyperbaric oxygen chamber. People are,
Speaker:
like, you know, chiropractors, like, adjusting him, like, all sorts of stuff.
Speaker:
Like so he can be. Like, he is a presence for those
Speaker:
events, but, like, there's all the stuff going on behind the scenes before
Speaker:
he hits steps on stage. He steps away for a second. He's getting
Speaker:
adjusted. That night, like, he's going full out. I mean, he's turning around because he
Speaker:
can do that. That. Most of us can't, but, like, what are the small things
Speaker:
we can do every day in our daily life so we can perform to our
Speaker:
best, whether we're on stage or not, just in our business and with our families.
Speaker:
So, well, let's talk about some of those things. Like, what what do you recommend
Speaker:
for, you know, anyone listening in? I mean, whether you're going through something
Speaker:
major or maybe maybe it's just, you know, minor
Speaker:
inconveniences or things you're tolerating with your energy or, you
Speaker:
know, if you're one of those proactive people, which,
Speaker:
you know, that you wanna be proactive as well. But it sounds
Speaker:
like most people are reacting to something that they feel and
Speaker:
that they're experiencing. So what's your recommendation there? I mean,
Speaker:
yeah, probably we're not gonna go to Tony Robbins' level. That sounds amazing, and I've
Speaker:
heard lots of stories about him. And Brendan Burchard has some
Speaker:
things that he does, behind the scenes in his seminars as
Speaker:
well to be proactive. For me, I stopped drinking caffeine,
Speaker:
2 days before the event, and I only drank jasmine
Speaker:
tea throughout the entire event. And then I would I
Speaker:
love coffee. So I was I went right back to it afterwards. But
Speaker:
for me, that's how I could so there were 14 hour days that
Speaker:
we were doing. And for me to have sustained energy, that's what I needed to
Speaker:
do. And perhaps there's a level of discovery that
Speaker:
people need to go through to see what works for them. But what are your
Speaker:
recommendations for someone who's experiencing stuff in
Speaker:
their business or their their energy that's impacting their business? What are
Speaker:
some of the steps they can start to take? Yeah. So I'm I'm really big
Speaker:
in, you know, getting data and quantifying. We can
Speaker:
guess. I like to say, let's test, but not guess. And, you know, you can
Speaker:
try a bunch of things and stuff online and YouTube videos, whatever. And, like, you
Speaker:
could probably find something that might work for many people,
Speaker:
but if you really wanna get serious here, let's and, again, we're individual
Speaker:
people. So I like to test and see, like, you know, there could be you
Speaker:
could be eating healthy foods, but they're not right for you. They could actually be
Speaker:
causing inflammation for you. I'll just use myself as an example
Speaker:
briefly, you know, like, raw spinach and kale, you know, when people do in the
Speaker:
smoothies and stuff like that. That's like kryptonite food for me. It took me a
Speaker:
while to figure that out, and there's a variety of other things. So, like, I
Speaker:
like to actually test and see what food intolerances you have. You know,
Speaker:
your microbiome, like, what's going on there? If you've got leaky gut, or some
Speaker:
other sort of, thing like that, doesn't matter what you're doing, from a
Speaker:
food perspective, it's gonna be affecting your energy, etcetera. You
Speaker:
know, what neurotransmitters are you producing? Are you not producing GABA,
Speaker:
serotonin, etcetera? And then how are we gonna address those things? And that's gonna be
Speaker:
affecting your sleep and maybe anxiety levels. So I'm really big into, you know,
Speaker:
testing from both a physical point of view, and that that does bleed into the
Speaker:
mental point of view as well. But then also addressing,
Speaker:
you know, kind of that inner game work. You know? Like, what are some of
Speaker:
your, you know, your any negative emotions you're conforming, the limiting beliefs
Speaker:
you have, and addressing those as well. And sometimes just getting
Speaker:
over those mental hurdles can make a big difference, both not only
Speaker:
for your physical, but also, like, how you show up in the world and how
Speaker:
you show up in your business with your clients, etcetera. So I'm really
Speaker:
big into, you know, let's run experiments.
Speaker:
You know? It it it could be actually doing testing, and that's part of what
Speaker:
I'd work on with my clients is getting very robust testing done. Or, like,
Speaker:
okay. Hey. Let's let's just try and figure things out. Like, do a food log
Speaker:
and see. You know, this is an example I use all the time. You know,
Speaker:
if you have low energy and maybe, you know,
Speaker:
your bowel movements are all weird on, like, every Monday. It's like, well, what are
Speaker:
you eating Sunday night or even Saturday night? If there's a consistent thing, and I'm
Speaker:
not saying that's a causation, but maybe there's some correlation to your
Speaker:
diet or other lifestyle practices to how you feel in your energy
Speaker:
level. So, again, that's something I kinda encourage my client or anyone to do, but
Speaker:
certainly with my clients is like, let's try and figure something out. We can't just
Speaker:
guess and, like, this is the latest thing I saw on YouTube, so let's try
Speaker:
it. Like, that's not an approach. Right.
Speaker:
Yeah. Well, doctor YouTube, go on there and
Speaker:
find something that confirms what you already believe.
Speaker:
Right. Right. Don't do it. So
Speaker:
yeah. Interesting. So listen. I wanna make sure that
Speaker:
our guests have an opportunity to connect with you because, I mean, we've
Speaker:
touched on so many things. I mean, that us
Speaker:
business owners, entrepreneurs, speakers, like, we're all guilty
Speaker:
of it, and that is putting our business first, prioritizing our health
Speaker:
later, or even tolerating the energy,
Speaker:
differences. And I I, you know, I I can appreciate what you just
Speaker:
said about, you know, kale and spinach being your kryptonite. Like, how
Speaker:
are you supposed to know that? We're we're we're told all the time,
Speaker:
oh, eat healthy, eat healthy. This is healthy. This is not.
Speaker:
And so, you know, how are you supposed to
Speaker:
know? And you really don't unless you get tested for it.
Speaker:
And and so there's that. How do
Speaker:
people get in touch with you, and, you know, what
Speaker:
what what do you recommend, in terms of connecting with you? We'll make sure
Speaker:
we put all the links, to
Speaker:
to your website and any other resources that you have.
Speaker:
What do you recommend there? Yeah. I well, I wanna turn it back and
Speaker:
give a gift to the audience, and I think that's also the best way to,
Speaker:
yeah, connect with me. I understand most people who who may who may be listening,
Speaker:
but, like, that sounds awesome. I wanna check it out. But, like, we're not gonna
Speaker:
just, like, call up Deepak right off off the bat. Right? I I know. I
Speaker:
understand. You wanna get to know me better. So let me give this gift to
Speaker:
you. It's, 7 steps to optimize your mental, physical, and
Speaker:
financial performance. Again, it's kinda geared to everyone, but especially
Speaker:
important for the entrepreneurs and business owners out there. So it's a it's a
Speaker:
bit of a it's a it's a guide and some different seven areas that I
Speaker:
suggest people, you know, try to look into if you're not already incorporating these into
Speaker:
your life to to explore. And then it's at the back is a a
Speaker:
tracker, a 30 day tracker. Now here's my advice.
Speaker:
Don't try all 7 at once. It's a recipe for failure. Pick
Speaker:
1, maybe 2 at tops. Okay? If these are new habits for
Speaker:
you, just try it 1, maybe 2 for 30 days. And
Speaker:
if it resonates with you, great. You built a new habit. Go back and try
Speaker:
a different one. If it doesn't resonate with you, that's fine too. So I think
Speaker:
that's the best way. Download this guide. We'll have the link, in the show notes
Speaker:
there, and get you'll get to know a little bit about me, a little bit
Speaker:
about my further about my story. And then intro you know, you get introduced
Speaker:
into my world, and then, you can learn more about me. And I also if
Speaker:
I can just briefly I also have a podcast as as well, and maybe we
Speaker:
can put that link in the in the show notes as well, Chuck. Absolutely.
Speaker:
Well, if you're watching this on video, look just beneath the video. All of the
Speaker:
links will be right there. If you're listening to this on a podcast, just
Speaker:
go into your mobile device and whatever player you're using, all of the
Speaker:
links are right there in the show notes as well. So, yeah,
Speaker:
we'll have, that link to that free gift. Thank you, by the way. That's
Speaker:
very helpful. I'm gonna go download that. And, and the
Speaker:
link to your podcast and, anything else, Deepak, that you
Speaker:
want there, just go ahead and send that to me, and we'll put it there
Speaker:
for for folks. Because we want this to be helpful. If you
Speaker:
are on a big mission let's say you have a business that's got
Speaker:
the next world changing idea, but your
Speaker:
energy and your health suffers as a result,
Speaker:
then it doesn't just hurt you. It hurts all of us because you're not
Speaker:
able to get that out there, in in as big of a way as
Speaker:
it as possible. And, you know, that's you know, we serve entrepreneurs,
Speaker:
but most of our entrepreneurs are people who have
Speaker:
world changing ideas and want to see people live, you
Speaker:
know, happier, more fulfilling lives. And we wanna see you
Speaker:
fulfill that mission. And that's why, probably,
Speaker:
Deepak, we don't talk about these things enough. We talk about marketing
Speaker:
strategies. We talk about business. We talk about different aspects
Speaker:
of of building a business. But how about
Speaker:
building ourselves and, making sure that we're
Speaker:
in the right state to be able to do the best job we possibly can?
Speaker:
Absolutely, Chuck. And like I said it before, you know, speaking towards myself, but I
Speaker:
asked the every listener to, like, reflect on this for a second for yourself.
Speaker:
If I'm not the best version of me, and that means taking care of myself
Speaker:
both physically and mentally, again, I I've already said this. I'll repeat myself
Speaker:
here. I can't show up to be the best business owner,
Speaker:
the best, coach for my clients, the best husband,
Speaker:
the best, father, etcetera. So
Speaker:
whatever you need to do for yourself so you can be at your top game,
Speaker:
so you can have your mission. Again, I have a public stated goal to to
Speaker:
impact a 1000000 lives. I hope other people are listening to have even bigger goals
Speaker:
than that. Yes, your zone of genius needs to get out there,
Speaker:
but if you're sick in bed or
Speaker:
not functioning mentally or physically or, you know, in pain,
Speaker:
etcetera, that's a grind on you, and you can't serve your mission. So
Speaker:
whatever it is for you, like, optimize yourself.
Speaker:
Absolutely. And, you know, speaking of optimizing yourself and growing
Speaker:
ourselves and, you know, making ourselves a priority,
Speaker:
there's our health, but there's also our learning and education. And I'm a
Speaker:
huge advocate for self improvement, self development.
Speaker:
I have been for almost 30 years. I've read a lot of books.
Speaker:
I've taken a lot of courses. I've attended a lot of seminars because I
Speaker:
believe that your business will only grow to the
Speaker:
extent that you do. And so so I've kind
Speaker:
of used this podcast to kind of cheat a little bit, and that
Speaker:
is to find out what some of those, what of
Speaker:
those some of those things are for you. So I ask all my guests, and
Speaker:
I'm gonna put you on the spot here, for a must read book recommendation.
Speaker:
So, these are only some of the books that I have. I have an entire
Speaker:
closet. Well, I mean, now and now it's all digital. I read a lot of,
Speaker:
listen to a lot of audiobooks. But, one of
Speaker:
the things, the more that I read and the more that I learn,
Speaker:
the more that I realize I still have a lot to learn.
Speaker:
And so that's one piece of wisdom from my fifties.
Speaker:
In my twenties, I thought I knew everything. And in my
Speaker:
fifties, I realized I barely know anything. And
Speaker:
so, if you had 1
Speaker:
if you could just recommend 1, and I know there's lots. One must
Speaker:
read book that somebody reads next that could really help them on their journey.
Speaker:
What would you recommend? Yeah. Great question. And I'll say I gotta these are
Speaker:
not all my books either behind me. I got lots as well in all different
Speaker:
topics, obviously, health related, business related marketing, real estate, like
Speaker:
everything. One book I really love,
Speaker:
and I'm, I'm going on my way on vacation next month. I'm gonna be rereading
Speaker:
it, because it's been I I like to reread my books every couple years,
Speaker:
as well. Biology of Belief by, Bruce Lipton. I
Speaker:
think that's one that if you haven't read it, kind of about our, you
Speaker:
know, our belief systems and, you know, our unconscious
Speaker:
mind and how that, you know, can play a role in,
Speaker:
you know, what we want to achieve, not only in our health, physical and mental
Speaker:
health, but, you know, it's kind of, you know, what we wanna manifest for our
Speaker:
ourselves, as well. So I've I'd recommend that one. And it's probably just a little
Speaker:
top of mind because I know it's the book I'm gonna be taking on this
Speaker:
vacation, but, I think that's a great book. That's I
Speaker:
there's a few things I love about that. First of all, it goes really well
Speaker:
with what we've been talking about here today. There's that, but I've never
Speaker:
heard of that book before. And so this is what I
Speaker:
find so fascinating and why I love asking the question of our
Speaker:
guests. I thought when I started asking the question, I'd get all the same,
Speaker:
you know, the usual suspects, like think and grow rich and all of that.
Speaker:
Almost every guest has had a different recommendation and
Speaker:
many cases, books I've never heard of before. So that's amazing. Yeah.
Speaker:
That's awesome. I know, you know, as I mentioned earlier, Chuck, I have a podcast
Speaker:
as well. So, you know, maybe I I don't know. Probably a a
Speaker:
quarter of the books I read every year are, like, our our guests who've
Speaker:
been on the on the podcast. And sometimes there are topics like I'm like, I
Speaker:
normally wouldn't read that, but I always like to read the you know, even that's
Speaker:
before or even sometimes it's after we record it. And so, like, again, I just
Speaker:
like, much like you, Chuck, love knowledge and and thirst for knowledge of
Speaker:
learning about a lot of different topics. And it's interesting how I think especially
Speaker:
and I can't say this from, like, when I was struggling with all the health
Speaker:
issues because when you have those nagging pain, it just grinds on your
Speaker:
on your psychology and your and your mind and and then your
Speaker:
capacity to think. But, you know, once you're, you know, clean and healthy
Speaker:
and and and you don't have those type of things, it's quite
Speaker:
interesting that the connections you can make from diverse topics. And I'm like,
Speaker:
oh, this person's saying the same principle in a different fashion, in a
Speaker:
different, area. And this person's saying essentially the same thing, different area.
Speaker:
Like, Like, I I just find that fascinating.
Speaker:
Yeah. Absolutely. And how
Speaker:
other people have the the messages,
Speaker:
the ideas, and the sometimes
Speaker:
answers, solutions to problems that, that we're searching
Speaker:
for. And sometimes it just comes out through,
Speaker:
casual conversation. So so I really pay close attention to
Speaker:
these recommendations. Not only, will we put the link
Speaker:
to that book in the show notes well? So if you're, again, watching this
Speaker:
on video or podcast and you wanna check that book out, the link is
Speaker:
there. I'm gonna go check it out because I believe wholeheartedly
Speaker:
that I was exposed to this idea for a reason.
Speaker:
Look. I think we could definitely spend
Speaker:
all day, talking about this and doing deep dives in all of
Speaker:
it. But, you know, we're we're almost out
Speaker:
of time here for this episode. I know that you
Speaker:
and I will definitely be talking again and collaborating on a number of things, so
Speaker:
that's great. Happy to have you in my world.
Speaker:
As we sign off for this episode, any final,
Speaker:
any final words of advice or or words of wisdom for our
Speaker:
audience here today? Yeah. Absolutely. I wholeheartedly and I
Speaker:
I've I've witnessed this myself personally and with clients as
Speaker:
as well. If you feel like there's something that's just you can't maybe
Speaker:
put your maybe you know. You absolutely know because you have, like, very, like,
Speaker:
very definitive symptoms. But even if it's just something that's like, I just know there's
Speaker:
something just not quite right, still a little off, don't let that
Speaker:
drag on for years. Talk to someone,
Speaker:
have have a conversation with me, any other, you know,
Speaker:
specialist, coach, etcetera, and just figure out what is worrying for
Speaker:
you. Like, get get a handle on it. You'll be much you'll
Speaker:
appreciate that you took action sooner rather
Speaker:
than than later. You don't want that, again, 5 alarm, bell to eventually happen. If
Speaker:
you just feel like a little something's off now, like, address it now.
Speaker:
Yeah. Address it now. Don't wait until it's too late,
Speaker:
for sure. So I think, yeah, great advice to end this episode by.
Speaker:
Deepak, thank you so much. Thank you, doctor. Appreciate being here. You've
Speaker:
touched on a topic that we probably don't talk about enough, but I really
Speaker:
appreciate, the work that you're doing. And to our
Speaker:
audience, thank you for listening in. And the fact that you're still listening means
Speaker:
that this resonated with you. Take an action today.
Speaker:
If there's something that's bothering you, if your energy isn't where it
Speaker:
is, needs to be, what step can you take today?
Speaker:
And, maybe that step is to go and download Deepak's
Speaker:
7 tips guide. Go and grab that and take some
Speaker:
action. Right? Prioritize your health, not just
Speaker:
your business. And, in the meantime, keep
Speaker:
watching back for new episodes. Every week, we have an episode
Speaker:
that's gonna help you, on your big mission
Speaker:
and, various challenges that you're gonna have in your
Speaker:
business. Remember, keep moving forward. Never ever give up.
Speaker:
And, we will see you on the next one. Thank you.
