Jennifer, tell me, what are your two. Truths and one lie?
Speaker:So my life has been bit wild, so I'm curious if
Speaker:anyone will guess. So one is
Speaker:I drove a semi truck and crashed into a gas
Speaker:station route. Two is I
Speaker:was on the front page of a newspaper for
Speaker:leading a laugh job. And three is
Speaker:I got bit by a monkey.
Speaker:Welcome to a whole lot of shift, podcast. The
Speaker:podcast for multi passionate women with an entrepreneurial spirit
Speaker:where we provide inspiration, motivation and education
Speaker:to help you shift away from all the shoulds and supposed tos
Speaker:to what's truly possible for you in your business and your
Speaker:life all on your own terms. You ready,
Speaker:girl? Let's make shift happen.
Speaker:Hello, and welcome to another episode of a Whole Lot of
Speaker:Shift. I am so excited to bring our guest to you all
Speaker:today. I am bringing you Jennifer Faye. And
Speaker:Jennifer is an energy healer and
Speaker:she is someone who I met recently. And when she reached
Speaker:out and she and I connected this last week, I knew that she was
Speaker:somebody that I had to have on the show and bring to all of
Speaker:you. So first, let me just say welcome Jennifer. Excited
Speaker:that you're here. Thank you. I am so excited to be
Speaker:here also. So like I said,
Speaker:Jennifer, she began offering some energy healing way back
Speaker:in 2010. She is certified in several different
Speaker:modalities and she's a Reiki master, an advanced theta
Speaker:healer, sound healer, and a certified meditation
Speaker:teacher. Really her ultimate vision is to teach and
Speaker:support others to bring more light into their energy
Speaker:field. She believes we came here to vibrate on a
Speaker:frequency that impacts the world around us. You guys, I
Speaker:am so excited for her to be on the show. If you've
Speaker:listened to any of my past episodes, then you know how much
Speaker:I talk about the importance of your energy and
Speaker:listening to your intuition and feeling into the power of the universe
Speaker:and all these other things that go into the level that you are
Speaker:vibrating on for your business and your life. And I'm
Speaker:so excited that she's here to share so many amazing things with us.
Speaker:So Jennifer, anything that I missed? Tell us a
Speaker:little bit about yourself. Thank you. I mean,
Speaker:that could be a whole episode in itself. That's probably a lot I
Speaker:could share, but I guess I can say
Speaker:share a perspective that my friends always say. They always kind of call me the
Speaker:fairy. Like oh, fairy friend. They call me the fairy friend.
Speaker:And I am labeled as that
Speaker:because I am a person that really
Speaker:believe, I really truly do believe anything is possible.
Speaker:And I see limitations that people
Speaker:might have or say,
Speaker:and I see them as all things that can be
Speaker:transformed or alchemized using our energetic fields
Speaker:and kind of some of these subtle energies that are behind it.
Speaker:Maybe energies that we're not consciously aware of like our
Speaker:subconscious beliefs or patterns
Speaker:from the past, past traumas emotions that are stuck in the
Speaker:body. There's kind of a lot that can go on in the energetic field.
Speaker:But from my perspective, I think we can shift it and
Speaker:align to really anything that our heart desires and
Speaker:then be aligned to receiving it. So that's kind of
Speaker:why I think that they all call me the fairy, and
Speaker:just because of magical experiences where I
Speaker:created that type of thing in my own life. Yeah, which I can share more
Speaker:about, but yeah, that's a little bit.
Speaker:Yeah. No, it's funny that
Speaker:I'm sure your friends are saying it in a teasing
Speaker:manner, because one of the things that
Speaker:you and I had said even before we started recording was that we really kind
Speaker:of want to. Try to normalize this entire conversation
Speaker:because I think when people start to hear about an energy
Speaker:healer or operating on a certain vibrational
Speaker:frequency, people get a little like, whoa, that sounds a
Speaker:little woo woo, a little out there. Or I have one
Speaker:friend who's always telling me, well, that sounds a little new Age like,
Speaker:okay, well,
Speaker:but it's so true. There was something that you had said to
Speaker:me when we had met previously about
Speaker:just that, our own vibration,
Speaker:like the amount in which it traveled. And I wish I could remember
Speaker:what it was that you shared because it was really powerful to me and
Speaker:my mind just went blank. I think it might have been related to
Speaker:possibly the book and the study with the Heart Math Institute.
Speaker:I don't know if you
Speaker:the Heart Math Institute, they do research related to
Speaker:the heart and brain coherence and
Speaker:they study our energy fields but using science. And
Speaker:so they had found that they looked
Speaker:at the photons in the body, which essentially
Speaker:is light. Like the light we vibrate is really the photons in our
Speaker:body. In certain realms they might call it like your
Speaker:aura or your energetic field and in science they might call it like
Speaker:your photons. And there's all different names, but it's kind of
Speaker:all the same. And so they found that
Speaker:through intentionally focusing on the heart
Speaker:and meditating in a space where you're focused on this heart energy
Speaker:and connecting to that with your intention that
Speaker:the photons in the body,
Speaker:these little balls of light, increase by 5000
Speaker:times. So
Speaker:literally the energy around a person's body,
Speaker:I mean, 5000 times more energy and light
Speaker:just by something as simple as focusing on the
Speaker:heart and our intention.
Speaker:That was it. I remember we started having that conversation and I remember
Speaker:I'm going to have to go back and write some of this down because that
Speaker:was my literal thought when you were sharing that. I was like, this is a
Speaker:writer downer, because this is really
Speaker:powerful. I think again, so
Speaker:many people think this just sounds kind of woo. No, there's science
Speaker:behind this. This wasn't something it's
Speaker:not from just a fairy.
Speaker:It's so much deeper than that. So oh, this is
Speaker:going to be such an incredible conversation. Okay, before we get
Speaker:too far into the episode, I do want to
Speaker:ask, did you want to play two truths in one lie with us?
Speaker:Yes, I would love to. Awesome.
Speaker:Okay, so Jennifer, tell me, what are your two
Speaker:truths in one lie? So my life
Speaker:has been a bit wild, so I'm curious if anyone will
Speaker:guess. So one is
Speaker:I drove a semi truck and crashed into a gas
Speaker:station route. Two is I
Speaker:was on the front page of a newspaper for
Speaker:leading a laugh mob. And three is
Speaker:I got bit by a monkey.
Speaker:Wow. Okay,
Speaker:this is going to be good. This is going to be good because. Yeah, these
Speaker:are all kind of wild, right? But
Speaker:this is what makes life so interesting because we never know where it's going to
Speaker:lead. So tell me a little bit, like, where
Speaker:did this all start? How did you first started
Speaker:wow. How did you first start to tap. Into
Speaker:the whole concept of energy or even
Speaker:manifestation? Take me back a little bit because you've been doing this for
Speaker:a while. Well, it kind of began
Speaker:with I worked for a Naturopathic doctor back in 2006
Speaker:and I got really obsessed
Speaker:with holistic medicine and this concept of getting to the
Speaker:root cause. And that was
Speaker:in that particular environment that was the root cause of a health
Speaker:issue and it was physically
Speaker:based. Like the root cause was physical, but that was the focus
Speaker:in that practice. But this led me on a quest. To be really curious
Speaker:about this and really resonate with that idea. And
Speaker:so I started exploring different energy healing modalities
Speaker:after that. And that was when my first energy healing modality that
Speaker:I got certified in was theta healing. And the
Speaker:concept of theta healing is very much that and it's looking at what the
Speaker:root causes are, but looking at the root causes from a
Speaker:subconscious perspective. So what are some of the subconscious
Speaker:beliefs, programming and energy that's behind
Speaker:this? So even if it was a physical issue, same physical issue,
Speaker:it'd be like, okay, it could be some physical imbalances going on.
Speaker:Yes. But what's beneath that? What are the energies
Speaker:beneath that? Sometimes there
Speaker:might be a reason that we actually want to be sick, even though we might
Speaker:not think that there really actually is something beneath the
Speaker:layers. Like, well, when I was
Speaker:a kid, I wasn't getting the attention I needed, so my
Speaker:subconscious as a way of survival would create this way for me to
Speaker:get sick so that I could get love, so that I could survive in the
Speaker:ways that I needed and get my needs met. And there could not be all
Speaker:these different things beneath the surface that
Speaker:we would not consciously say that we're doing or maybe even
Speaker:be aware of, but they're there and they're
Speaker:creating things in our lives that
Speaker:aren't harmonious. And so that was really what opened the door
Speaker:to me, diving into exploring some of
Speaker:these root causes, but from all different angles when it comes
Speaker:to stuck emotions, subconscious beliefs, and all these other
Speaker:layers. And since then, I
Speaker:just loved it and just haven't stopped learning
Speaker:and exploring. Oh, that's so
Speaker:awesome. So how did you know?
Speaker:Was there any kind of significant moment
Speaker:or circumstance that kind of led you to realize, like,
Speaker:hey, this is actually the body of work
Speaker:that I want to continue in? How did you know?
Speaker:Oh, that's a tricky question.
Speaker:For the first many years, I didn't
Speaker:have enough, I think, self confidence. I had some
Speaker:things around my own self worth, self confidence,
Speaker:things that I had to work through first before I was able to own
Speaker:it. I also had to develop a lot of my skills
Speaker:because while I am a very intuitive
Speaker:being and I've reawakened that within myself,
Speaker:I had really not been tuned into
Speaker:that my whole childhood up into my early adult life. So I had to
Speaker:reawaken all of my gifts of
Speaker:connecting to my intuition and learning how to do that.
Speaker:And that was a journey that took many years and a lot
Speaker:of dedicated practice.
Speaker:Yeah, so I started
Speaker:offering energy healing sessions soon after I got my first
Speaker:training. But I didn't necessarily own it.
Speaker:Like, I am an energy healer
Speaker:and I still kind of would have another job and then
Speaker:have a few energy healing clients. And the other thing
Speaker:is, I didn't like being labeled. I've always been a very
Speaker:multipassionate person and a person that has a lot
Speaker:of interests and ideas and I'm always interested in new
Speaker:things and that's always evolving. And so I also
Speaker:really didn't like the idea of being in a box or being labeled.
Speaker:For example, I also like writing, so I was like, I'm also a
Speaker:writer and I love kids and I also
Speaker:am a teacher and I love this and I love that. And so
Speaker:even now there are these things that
Speaker:I do, and I don't necessarily say any of them is like who I
Speaker:am per se, but they're part of me and part of my gifts
Speaker:and strengths. Absolutely. Yeah, I guess I don't know when
Speaker:I officially owned it. I'd say it's probably honestly been
Speaker:within the past year or two.
Speaker:That's amazing. One of the things that I'm always talking
Speaker:about, especially for those who they
Speaker:are starting this out, maybe they've got a side hustle and
Speaker:they're having all those doubts that are just natural about
Speaker:am I doing the right thing? Is this what I'm supposed to be doing?
Speaker:Who can know about this? Is it okay if I share this information? Are people
Speaker:going to think I'm crazy? There's just all these thoughts that go through your
Speaker:mind before you actually completely
Speaker:own who you are and what you want
Speaker:to bring into the world and what you want to do.
Speaker:And it's a process, and it's not linear. Like, you may even
Speaker:go through a period of time where you think you're super clear on it and
Speaker:you think you're ready for it, and then you start to step into it and
Speaker:it's. Like, yeah, I had
Speaker:that experience at one point. I quit all my probably like
Speaker:six years ago. No, probably more
Speaker:like eight years ago. I was like, that's it, I'm just
Speaker:going to be an energy healer. And I quit my job and
Speaker:went all in. And then a bunch of life
Speaker:circumstances happened. My house got broken into,
Speaker:I had this traumatic event happen. It was
Speaker:like just spiral after spiral of life. And I'm
Speaker:like, and now does not feel like the right time for me to
Speaker:own this as a full time business. I'm not in the space. I think
Speaker:I need to get a job again, so I
Speaker:don't know. It's a journey for sure.
Speaker:It is a journey. Oh, thank you for sharing that and just
Speaker:being transparent about that because I think it's so important
Speaker:sometimes I think there's almost like this stigma
Speaker:of, well, if you're not able to just completely quit your job and do a
Speaker:business full time, then you're not really a business person. And I just
Speaker:think that's just
Speaker:false. It just is. Yeah, I
Speaker:agree. I think it's more your
Speaker:energy behind it. Like, what I found is
Speaker:like I was saying, I had all those doubts and just I had a lot
Speaker:of things in my way and as I've cleared and done so
Speaker:much work on myself and got into a place of true
Speaker:empowerment, I've owned it. Like, this is what I'm
Speaker:doing. I know this is what I'm doing. I know this is where I'm going,
Speaker:and I'm very clear on that. And if I need to do something on the
Speaker:way there that will support me in getting there, then great, I'll
Speaker:take it one day at a time and I'll trust
Speaker:that I'll get there in the way that's best for me. And there's no right
Speaker:way, there's no wrong way. There's just me and what I decide to
Speaker:do and what I decide to choose that's in alignment with the desires and where
Speaker:I'm going. So that's more how I've approached it.
Speaker:It's very individual. It's so
Speaker:individual. The journey just looks so different for
Speaker:everyone. That's awesome. So I'm curious.
Speaker:You mentioned a little bit about being a
Speaker:writer also. So what kind of writing.
Speaker:The writing desire probably
Speaker:came about? I've always loved writing, and even through my own
Speaker:work, I kind of channel
Speaker:messages and I share them on
Speaker:social media or just in my journal or I've always kind of
Speaker:have loved writing just for my own processes. And
Speaker:probably like yeah, I think it was maybe even ten years
Speaker:ago I started getting ideas for books, and,
Speaker:yeah, I just realized what I realized about writing is because I've always been a
Speaker:person that's like, okay, I want to follow my heart. I want to follow my
Speaker:highest desire, my highest excitement, and
Speaker:what is that? And so I noticed that writing
Speaker:has been another thing that's always kind of just stuck. Like, writing and
Speaker:energy healing are just like, they've been there for many
Speaker:years and work with kids. Those are, like, three categories
Speaker:that they're just constantly there, no matter how I
Speaker:evolve.
Speaker:I have probably five different books in the making
Speaker:right now, some halfway done, some all the way
Speaker:done. But my latest book is teaching
Speaker:meditation and mindfulness to kids
Speaker:through a story. And that actually just came
Speaker:to me. So I actually would just practice sitting and
Speaker:do creative writing, where I would just sit and let the words
Speaker:flow onto the paper. And
Speaker:that's what happened. The words flowed onto the paper,
Speaker:and it felt very
Speaker:energizing. I felt very alive. I felt really excited about
Speaker:it. But what happened with that book and this book that I'm
Speaker:actually about to launch in a few weeks, but was that I knew it wasn't
Speaker:complete, and I was like, okay,
Speaker:so a lot of it's here. I know it's not complete. What do
Speaker:I need to complete it? And the answers
Speaker:weren't coming to me, so I had to just wait almost
Speaker:two years before it came to me how to complete the
Speaker:book. So I found that writing is
Speaker:also be like that if you're
Speaker:writing from that place of letting it come to you.
Speaker:Right? What are some of the because I. Know
Speaker:that I've talked with some of. My clients about this, about just getting really
Speaker:still with yourself and present
Speaker:to try to really listen to your gut and your heart about
Speaker:where you're going, what you're doing, because the answers are
Speaker:there, right? As frustrating as it might hear to say,
Speaker:or as frustrating as it might be to hear that from coaches, well, the answer
Speaker:is there. And you're like, but I don't know the answer.
Speaker:What are some of the things that you practice, whether it be a daily
Speaker:habit or something that you do to kind of learn?
Speaker:How does one sit with themselves to really listen to what's on their
Speaker:heart? Well, I think there's a lot to
Speaker:that. Like, in the beginning, I would sit and listen, and
Speaker:I was also really disconnected from my emotions
Speaker:and my body and myself just because of past trauma and
Speaker:past experiences. So it was hard. Like, I would sit there and be
Speaker:like, I want to feel something, and I would just feel, like, numb
Speaker:or disconnected. And so I feel like it really
Speaker:depends. People can be in very different spaces when they
Speaker:start. Like, I've been in places where I've been depressed and
Speaker:in really low places, and it feels really
Speaker:impossible sometimes to connect to yourself, especially
Speaker:when you're not used to it and you haven't been doing it for a while.
Speaker:What I found is that it really is like a culmination of
Speaker:a little bit builds over time. So the way that I've
Speaker:actually seen transformation in my life and major
Speaker:transformation, is not like I sat and felt
Speaker:my feelings or got a message. Like one time just doesn't
Speaker:work. I've done it consistently
Speaker:over many, many years and it's all
Speaker:added up to then it gets easier,
Speaker:then I can hear the answers more easily.
Speaker:Then I notice shifts in my life quicker. Or I'm starting to
Speaker:see the reflections of how it's actually impacting my outer reality.
Speaker:But it's not like a one time thing. So it really just depends on
Speaker:where you're starting from. And that could be all over the board,
Speaker:but I could keep going. Does that
Speaker:answer any of your questions? I can keep talking about anyone. And how I
Speaker:know that answers so. Much
Speaker:because there's so much more
Speaker:to it, right? There is a healing process, especially
Speaker:if you have experienced some sort of significant trauma or traumas
Speaker:in your life. Because I want to be aware of the fact that sometimes it
Speaker:might not be one single significant event at one period in
Speaker:time. It could also be the accumulation of
Speaker:event, right? But there
Speaker:is a healing process that has to occur there
Speaker:before you can exactly what you're saying learn how to
Speaker:sit and listen. And it's one of those things
Speaker:where once you've experienced so I know that
Speaker:you've said a couple of times so far about
Speaker:channeling something or receiving a message. The thing
Speaker:is, we've been receiving these messages our whole
Speaker:lives, but for a really long time
Speaker:we kind of ignore them, right? We're like, oh, that's not and then
Speaker:eventually it is exactly what you're describing. Like this process
Speaker:where you have to teach yourself, okay, well, what if I listen this time?
Speaker:Or what if I act upon this feeling, this
Speaker:message I feel like I'm receiving that's saying do this or
Speaker:that. Gosh. So many important pieces in there.
Speaker:The healing process, learning how to listen and accept it.
Speaker:And again, that's why we're having this conversation of just normalizing some of these things
Speaker:that occur. Such powerful information.
Speaker:Yeah. Oh, sorry, I was going to say. I think no, go
Speaker:ahead. The other thing to the listening is like we start
Speaker:listening, right? We start tuning into our inner voice, kind
Speaker:of what maybe some of the thoughts going through our mind. Maybe we start getting
Speaker:more attuned to these things. There's also things to learn about what
Speaker:we're hearing. Because not everything you hear or
Speaker:tune into is like the divine truth.
Speaker:There's little parts in you, like wounded parts. Maybe this little
Speaker:child. And I think we all have traumas and a ton of them, and they
Speaker:don't have to be some big, horrible, traumatic event although a lot of us have
Speaker:those too. But it can be little things. Like someone
Speaker:picked on me and called me a mean name when I was five and now
Speaker:I believe that I am an idiot and I suck
Speaker:and who knows, whatever you decided to believe about yourself.
Speaker:But then it's like that little voice, that little girl
Speaker:that never got to express how she felt when so and so picked on her
Speaker:when she decided that she sucks. And
Speaker:that's the little voice that's in there saying like giving you
Speaker:advice. Sometimes we have to learn
Speaker:not only to listen, but we have to be like, what are we listening to
Speaker:here? Like this little wounded part of myself
Speaker:that had this experience that's really just needing my love and attention.
Speaker:So we really have to learn how to connect to
Speaker:our highest version of ourselves and
Speaker:let that version of ourselves be leading us. And with
Speaker:that comes a lot of showing up for all these other parts of
Speaker:ourselves that our whole lives. We didn't have the tools,
Speaker:we didn't know how to do this, we weren't taught this, so we
Speaker:weren't able to show up for them. And most likely our parents weren't
Speaker:taught this or teachers or people around us weren't taught
Speaker:these skills and these tools. So they weren't able to show up for us in
Speaker:the way we needed to process these things. And so we have to show up
Speaker:for ourselves to process all of these little parts so that we
Speaker:can actually hear our higher version
Speaker:of ourself like the version we want to be listening to. Because
Speaker:otherwise we're getting led by you can listen, but you might be getting
Speaker:led by somebody you don't want to actually be listening to.
Speaker:Yeah, no, that
Speaker:exact it's like you were taking the words out of my mouth. One of the
Speaker:things that I do when I'm working with somebody, like on their self
Speaker:belief statement and we're working on this statement of the ultimate,
Speaker:highest version of themselves that they want to
Speaker:become, is that when you're writing it
Speaker:every day. And we're trying to work on some of those subconscious
Speaker:thoughts. Really asking yourself, like, when
Speaker:new thoughts are coming in as you're writing about this future
Speaker:self, being able to ask yourself, well, is this
Speaker:my old wounded self that's talking to me right now? That's having these
Speaker:new thoughts? Or is this a thought? Because I am
Speaker:seeing my future highest self.
Speaker:It's a little tricky, right? Yeah,
Speaker:takes practice for sure. Or like what would my highest
Speaker:version of myself do in this scenario? And working
Speaker:to connect to that or connecting to these
Speaker:future versions of yourself and who you're becoming, what would she do?
Speaker:How would she show up in this? Sometimes
Speaker:I even also ask is this mine? Is this someone else's? Because sometimes
Speaker:we have this is my parent
Speaker:voice that's talking here that
Speaker:I've kind of integrated in me and
Speaker:it's become me, but this isn't actually me. So
Speaker:who is this saying this?
Speaker:Yes. Oh, man, that's so good.
Speaker:Okay, so I know I kind of went off on a little bit of a
Speaker:tangent, but you had said that the second
Speaker:part of, or the last part of the book that you were working on had
Speaker:finally come to you. Tell me a little bit about that. So do you feel
Speaker:like it's finished? Are we going to see a book soon?
Speaker:Yes. So that book is actually complete?
Speaker:Yeah. It's called my big heart. And yeah, so
Speaker:the final pieces came to me, and it's the journey of
Speaker:a little girl who feels small and invisible,
Speaker:and she's physically small because she's a child and going on
Speaker:a journey of through mindfulness and reconnecting to
Speaker:her heart and her energy field. And it incorporates that heart mass study we
Speaker:talked about in the beginning into the book. It weaves it in. She discovers the
Speaker:power of herself and how powerful she truly is, the power
Speaker:of her heart. And she just
Speaker:realizes how big she truly is in power, heart, strength.
Speaker:And yeah, it's a journey of
Speaker:her transformation. So I'm really excited about it.
Speaker:It's going to be coming out in the next couple of weeks. It'll be
Speaker:on Amazon. Oh, that's
Speaker:so amazing. Yeah. Imagine if
Speaker:we could see or if we were able to understand our
Speaker:power when we were little, when we were
Speaker:younger. So is it written
Speaker:as a book for children or just is it
Speaker:like an adult book about the little girl? So
Speaker:I say it's for children of all ages, but it is written for children. It's
Speaker:a children's picture book, has beautiful
Speaker:illustrations, and so it's just a short, easy read with
Speaker:beautiful illustrations. It's a picture book. So it is written for kids
Speaker:ages six and up. And I also think
Speaker:that adults of all ages could benefit from
Speaker:it. Sorry, children of all
Speaker:ages, which essentially is also adults.
Speaker:Amen. Because I still don't know what I want to be when I grow
Speaker:up. Do we ever
Speaker:know? And it's always evolving. It's always evolving. I don't
Speaker:think that it's like, one thing I will be forever.
Speaker:Right. I have a 20 year old. And it
Speaker:was just a couple of weeks ago where he was saying, I really just
Speaker:don't know what I want to do. He's like, yeah, I'm going to school,
Speaker:but I still don't know what I want to do. And I was like, Kid,
Speaker:none of us actually know that answer.
Speaker:Yeah, I really wish that more of this would be
Speaker:shared because as a kid, I felt the same way and I thought, Well, I
Speaker:don't know what I want to do. And then I was very determined, like, well,
Speaker:I'm going to do something that I love. I'm going to find work that I
Speaker:love. And I really wish
Speaker:that that was shared to me or would be shared to more kids
Speaker:that it's really about deciding. It's not about
Speaker:finding anything. It's about deciding, this is what I'm going to do and this
Speaker:is what I'm going to create, and learning how to
Speaker:follow your heart and how to do
Speaker:that and yeah, these little things like, oh, well, that's not really how life is.
Speaker:Like giving showing kids these things so they don't
Speaker:have these unrealistic expectations that then lead you
Speaker:feeling defeated in life when it was never necessary.
Speaker:Never. Right. I know we kind of portray
Speaker:this life that, yeah, you're going to go to school
Speaker:and you're going to know what you want to become and what you want to
Speaker:do, and that's going to be your life and you're going to love it. And
Speaker:that's just so far from the truth.
Speaker:Just does not work that way. Yeah. I am so
Speaker:excited about the book. Thank you.
Speaker:Yeah, I was just going to say I've even felt this way about how people
Speaker:talk about finding your purpose. And I almost feel like it's the same
Speaker:thing where people are like, find your purpose, and once
Speaker:you find your purpose, everything will be butterflies and rainbows and you'll
Speaker:be so fulfilled and happy and life will be wonderful. And
Speaker:I really feel like it's the same idea of, like, find your career, find
Speaker:your whatever, and it's all promoting
Speaker:something outside of you, something in the future will then make you
Speaker:happy. Like, you're not satisfied now and you're not feeling great now,
Speaker:but if you had this thing and it's
Speaker:like a thing that, how do I get this thing? You're never going to
Speaker:get this thing. No, it's all
Speaker:just yeah, I don't think that's the answer.
Speaker:It's so not. It's like these superficial checkboxes that you
Speaker:keep trying to check and then you're thinking, oh, well, if I just check the
Speaker:next box, that's going to be the box that'll make me happy. That'll that'll
Speaker:be the thing. And it's never the thing.
Speaker:It's never the thing,
Speaker:man. Yeah. And so trying to convince
Speaker:somebody younger of that is difficult. But I
Speaker:love the idea and the concept that you're describing of this
Speaker:book where a child at any age
Speaker:can read this and I really think probably just
Speaker:relate to it because it is, like you said it's through a story.
Speaker:Yeah. I'm so excited for
Speaker:that to come out so that the audience knows
Speaker:once that book is released, we will be sharing it. I'll be adding it to
Speaker:the show notes. So regardless of when you're listening, be. Sure to check
Speaker:the show notes. Yeah.
Speaker:That's an amazing achievement. Right. And just knowing
Speaker:that you took the time to listen to
Speaker:yourself and that you allowed that process to evolve and to come
Speaker:through is really powerful.
Speaker:Yeah, I definitely have a passion for
Speaker:supporting kids and getting these messages out early to
Speaker:give kids to normalize these things. Like even the topic
Speaker:we're talking about, talking. About connecting to your intuition.
Speaker:There's so many things that I want to support children.
Speaker:So yeah, it's one of my passions.
Speaker:Love that. So you said you're multi passionate. Have you worked
Speaker:with kids in the past also? Yes, I have. Yeah,
Speaker:I actually worked in education for a while, I don't know,
Speaker:many years, but a lot of years. At one point I was a school teacher,
Speaker:I taught elementary school,
Speaker:and I still have that business, an outdoor classroom for
Speaker:kids where we teach them about mindfulness and meditation.
Speaker:Mindfulness, meditation, same yoga, connecting to nature, connecting to
Speaker:themselves. I worked in the social emotional learning space,
Speaker:bringing social emotional learning skills to kids, teaching health
Speaker:awareness, leadership skills. So yeah, I worked
Speaker:with kids in a lot of different ways over the years, I've taught Mindfulness to
Speaker:kids. So yeah, I do have experience with teaching
Speaker:Mindfulness to kids. That is
Speaker:incredible. Oh man, that is so
Speaker:awesome. What a great thing to
Speaker:teach, right? Because again, I think like we were like I
Speaker:just think about this, I'm like, man, if somebody, somebody could have found
Speaker:five year old Jen and said. Hey, here's
Speaker:how you can learn how. To ground
Speaker:yourself when you are running around barefoot. Because I used to run all
Speaker:over the place. Yeah.
Speaker:Right, I think about that. I'm like, yes, that is
Speaker:exactly the message I wish I would have really been able to
Speaker:experience and understand.
Speaker:When I taught Mindfulness in second grade, for example,
Speaker:I made it normal in my classroom,
Speaker:but none of the other classrooms really,
Speaker:they didn't all do it. And so my kids would say they thought it was
Speaker:just like any other subject because I had normalized it so much. Like it's just
Speaker:as important as math or anything else. And they would write, I'd say
Speaker:like, what's your favorite subject? And so many kids would say, Mindfulness. Mindfulness. He loves
Speaker:know they loved it. And I saw some kids in the future
Speaker:when they were that I had in second grade, one that I saw
Speaker:when he was in fourth grade because I had stopped teaching. And he was like,
Speaker:you know what's so strange, Miss Jen? I'm like what? He's like my
Speaker:teachers aren't doing mindfulness.
Speaker:And I thought it was amazing because I had created the foundation that
Speaker:he thought that was completely normal, that you would
Speaker:have mindfulness, that you would talk about your feelings, that
Speaker:all of these things that I made very normal. And he thought it
Speaker:was weird that his other teachers weren't doing it. But I think
Speaker:if we start making it normal from a
Speaker:really young age, I mean, I've seen kids that have
Speaker:Sat, and I also teach laughter yoga, and
Speaker:I've seen kids sit in my yoga classes and I've seen
Speaker:kids that they're meditating at five years old,
Speaker:completely can sit still for 30 minutes.
Speaker:And it's really about how we see
Speaker:it. What I found as an adult is that it's how
Speaker:we see what's possible for the kids that they
Speaker:step into. Because I've seen adults it's
Speaker:not possible for my kid to sit still. You don't know my
Speaker:kid. No, you do not know my child.
Speaker:Or they'll be like, Children, they don't sit still.
Speaker:Children, this is not possible for children. Children cannot do these
Speaker:things. And then that is the reality.
Speaker:So that's where my fairy comes in. And I'm like,
Speaker:what do you believe to be true? Because you're creating your reality.
Speaker:So, yeah, I have seen that kids can do it and they love
Speaker:it. And I have even had kids in second grade.
Speaker:They all want to lead it. And I had where they could start teaching
Speaker:it themselves. And I had a list of like every
Speaker:single child wanted to do it, and one child wrote his name seven times. And
Speaker:I'm like, okay, you don't have enough space because everyone wants to do it.
Speaker:So they love it if you
Speaker:introduce it to them. And they share things that their
Speaker:parents don't even realize because
Speaker:their parents not all parents, but sometimes these
Speaker:conversations haven't ever happened before, so
Speaker:they might share things. I've had scenarios where I've had kids share
Speaker:things with me that in front of a parent, they're like, I didn't know that
Speaker:about you, just because it hasn't been talked
Speaker:about. Yeah,
Speaker:well and the thing is, in so many other cultures, that
Speaker:mindfulness for children is normalized.
Speaker:So, yes, it is entirely possible.
Speaker:And our children absolutely can learn this.
Speaker:And it's quite impactful.
Speaker:I think it's amazing. I hope that you realize, and I'm sure that you do,
Speaker:because of how aware you are, but
Speaker:those kids now are getting to grow up and they know,
Speaker:hey, I learned this thing way back in second grade, and I
Speaker:had no idea the impact this would have. But they're able
Speaker:to take those skills with them now forever. And
Speaker:you did that, which is pretty freaking cool. Thank
Speaker:you. Yeah, that's amazing.
Speaker:Oh, chills. It's so amazing. When I think about it.
Speaker:I think the message is like, we can all do it, right? And
Speaker:it starts with us being confident and practicing it so that
Speaker:we were able to share. Because kids are BS
Speaker:detectors, so you have to embody
Speaker:it. You can't just be like, you should sit and be quiet and do
Speaker:mindfulness while I sit over here and drink my wine and
Speaker:don't do any mindfulness at all. Like, no, they are
Speaker:not going to do it, I'm telling you. But it's more of our energy
Speaker:and our energy behind it. And if we're models of it,
Speaker:then they will join you in it. So it really starts with us as
Speaker:adults, and I think it's like all of us
Speaker:can help embody it, not only for ourselves, but for our kids
Speaker:and kids of the future. I mean, the kids are our future. Our future
Speaker:society needs this. We need this is a
Speaker:foundation, how to feel our emotions, how to connect our emotions, how
Speaker:to process things, how to communicate
Speaker:our society needs this. Yes.
Speaker:Truth on so many levels. Yeah, I did
Speaker:therapeutic foster care for several years. And it's so
Speaker:true. Kids are the biggest BS detectors, and they will call you out.
Speaker:But it's interesting too,
Speaker:exactly what you're saying. If you're already practicing
Speaker:it and you're doing it, pretty soon
Speaker:they're going to want to do it, too. And it's a whole
Speaker:experience. I'm so glad you're sharing this with us today because
Speaker:it's really powerful. Okay,
Speaker:so I want to circle back because you shared a couple of little
Speaker:blurbs of some things you've done in your past. So now I want to try
Speaker:and guess your two truths and one lie. Okay, so let me
Speaker:go back. So if I remember right, you said you
Speaker:drove a semi and crashed it into a gas
Speaker:station rope. Oh, my gosh.
Speaker:I'm laughing. So my dad was a truck driver growing up, and
Speaker:so way back in the day, because I'm very old, sometimes
Speaker:I used to be able to travel with him in his truck. And so just
Speaker:even thinking of that story in my head, I'm like, oh, this is something I
Speaker:would have done. But okay, two truths in one lie. You either
Speaker:drove a semi truck, it crashed into a gas station roof, you were on the
Speaker:front page of a newspaper for leading a laugh mob, or
Speaker:you got bit by a monkey. I'm going
Speaker:to say that you did leave a lead
Speaker:a laugh mob. Is that one true? Yes.
Speaker:Okay, well, because you mentioned something about leading
Speaker:laugh yoga. Yeah, I thought about that. I'm like, darn
Speaker:it.
Speaker:This is the funnest part of the game.
Speaker:We don't realize all the little hells that we leave along the
Speaker:way. But is this good? I love this. Okay,
Speaker:so then now I can't decide between okay, I will say this.
Speaker:Driving a semi truck is no easy.
Speaker:There's enough buttons for I don't even know what it looks like the cockpit of
Speaker:an airplane or something. It's a little wild. Or you got bit by a
Speaker:monkey. That's a tricky one because
Speaker:based on some of your experiences, I'm betting you're well
Speaker:traveled. And that just is a possibility in
Speaker:my mind. I'm going to say, I
Speaker:know this is, like, so tricky. I'm going to
Speaker:say you did not drive the semi truck.
Speaker:Incorrect book.
Speaker:This was so okay, you have to. Tell the semi truck story. Oh,
Speaker:God. Okay. I'll
Speaker:try to do a short version, I guess. So my
Speaker:friend, after college, my friend got this job
Speaker:where she was driving a pink Hummer up and down the coast, doing
Speaker:promotional marketing, going to these expos,
Speaker:promoting different brands. And I was want to do that type
Speaker:of job. I want to drive a pink Hummer up and down the coast of
Speaker:California. So anyways, I applied for the
Speaker:same type of job. I got hired for
Speaker:one. They didn't tell me what I would be driving. I get there and they're
Speaker:like, you will actually be driving this Humongous
Speaker:truck, which I had only
Speaker:driven a small little car at that point ever even driven a pickup
Speaker:truck, let alone a huge truck. It was very comical. Very
Speaker:hilarious. I had no idea what I'm doing. I don't know why I didn't just
Speaker:say, I am not doing this job. But at the time, I
Speaker:was very determined. I was right out of college. I was like, yes, I still
Speaker:get to go to all these states, and they're going to pay for me and
Speaker:my food and my hotel, and it's. Going to be great.
Speaker:Yeah. So I got in the car and
Speaker:drove to the gas station, which I didn't think about the fact
Speaker:that the truck is higher than the gas station roof.
Speaker:And I also didn't realize that there are separate
Speaker:gas stations for trucks and gas stations
Speaker:for regular people when they're regular cars.
Speaker:This is the best story. Well,
Speaker:I accidentally went to the regular people gas station
Speaker:and tried to just go in as I would, but
Speaker:hit the roof of the gas station since the truck was bigger than it.
Speaker:And I went on the side and the truck got
Speaker:stuck between the roof of the gas station.
Speaker:And I was basically tilted in the
Speaker:truck, like wedged in between. And I
Speaker:just rolled my window down and I was like, beat my heart. I
Speaker:was like, hell, can I hear the Held?
Speaker:And it was very hilarious. Even I was like, scared
Speaker:that it was going to tip over and also laughing at the same time because
Speaker:I'm like, what am I doing with myself in my life right now?
Speaker:How am I in this scenario? And people
Speaker:chucker started coming up to me and they thought I was
Speaker:in a reality TV show. They didn't think it was real.
Speaker:No one would take me seriously. They thought it was like a
Speaker:fake thing. And I was like they're like,
Speaker:okay, it's a reality TV show, whatever. And I was like,
Speaker:no, this is my real life. Can
Speaker:you get a couch?
Speaker:Oh, my God. This is the best story. That
Speaker:is the best story. Yeah. So finally they believe
Speaker:me. I'm like, no, it's real. Can you call for help?
Speaker:And so we had to get a crane. A crane had to come and
Speaker:lift the truck. And I'm like, in it? Lift me
Speaker:out and drop me back down.
Speaker:My gosh. Yeah. This is the most amazing story. It
Speaker:was really hilarious. And I did not last very long at that job.
Speaker:I quit soon after. I was like, this is
Speaker:not for me. But it was very hilarious.
Speaker:Wait, they didn't but wait, here's what's important. They didn't
Speaker:fire you? No, they didn't fire me. Wow.
Speaker:Well, the truck wasn't that damaged. It was like
Speaker:a tiny little dent on the side of the truck, like barely any damage. And
Speaker:they're like, okay, you could just keep going, not a problem,
Speaker:get going.
Speaker:Yeah. Now that you know there are two. Sides to the gas station,
Speaker:let's just keep going. Now that you've learned
Speaker:we trust you completely to get there safely.
Speaker:Well, that's the best story. Oh,
Speaker:wow. Oh my gosh, that is so
Speaker:great. Okay, thank you for that because that was so
Speaker:good. Okay, so
Speaker:I have to ask, if people want to get in touch with you, where are
Speaker:you? I'm assuming you're on social media. How can people connect?
Speaker:Yes, you can find me on social media. You can find me on my website.
Speaker:In terms of the book, the website is
Speaker:Jenniferfay.com. So, yeah,
Speaker:I'm offering a free ebook to
Speaker:everyone from the audience. So if you would like to message

Speaker:that'll just say, like, listen now to your free audio. I'm
Speaker:also offering a free audio, a free mindfulness audio
Speaker:that goes along with the book. So you can just fill out
Speaker:your email there or you can send me a message
Speaker:on social media and just say, hey, can you send me the ebook
Speaker:and the audio and you can find me through
Speaker:my website, you'll find my social media. Or you can go to Soul infused
Speaker:Writer as well on Instagram and find
Speaker:me there. Awesome. Okay, well, I'm going to
Speaker:be sure and for the audience, I am going to be sure and share links
Speaker:so that you can connect with Jennifer on any of those platforms.
Speaker:And the free ebook, I'm kind of excited about that.
Speaker:So if there was one
Speaker:thing what's one thing you want the audience today to
Speaker:take away? I think
Speaker:something that came to me in a retreat. I was in a retreat in Mexico
Speaker:a few weeks ago and the thing that came to me was begin with pleasure.
Speaker:And I think that's what I want to share. I think
Speaker:the key we talked about kind of like, don't focus
Speaker:on I need to find my purpose or I need to find my
Speaker:dream job or I need to whatever, have this business and then I'll be happy.
Speaker:It's more what do you do?
Speaker:You begin with pleasure. That's where you start. And if you bring
Speaker:more pleasure into your day, like, you wake up, how can I begin
Speaker:my day with pleasure? Like, I'm busy AF, I have a lot
Speaker:going on, but how do you take that and be
Speaker:like, but how can I still begin with pleasure?
Speaker:How can I feel my feelings for two
Speaker:minutes? How can I sit outside in the warm sun and let the sun rays
Speaker:touch my skin and make me feel
Speaker:alive? How can you begin with
Speaker:pleasure? And even when you're deciding, what should I do in business,
Speaker:like, not deciding, like, well, I need to make money
Speaker:first. And if I make a lot of money, then I'll
Speaker:focus on the thing that I really like because then I'll have
Speaker:created financial freedom and then I can do the thing no, don't do any of
Speaker:that. What is the thing that you can begin now? With pleasure.
Speaker:What's the thing that, yes,
Speaker:I'm going to do this and it checks the
Speaker:pleasure box, too. This is going to bring me pleasure and
Speaker:maybe it'll bring me money, too. I'm making
Speaker:decisions that are aligned with what brings me the
Speaker:pleasure now, not the future.
Speaker:I love that message so much that is so in
Speaker:alignment with me just a thousand
Speaker:percent. So thank you. I think that is the
Speaker:best thing to be able to walk away with.
Speaker:Well, Jennifer, it has been an absolute pleasure. I'm
Speaker:so glad that you decided to join us today and

Speaker:stories. Even learning more about your work, it's really impactful. So
Speaker:thank you for coming on to share. Thank you. Jen, I love what you
Speaker:do and I love your heart behind everything and the messages that you're
Speaker:here to help share with women
Speaker:and messages of empowerment
Speaker:and all that you bring to support people in growing in their
Speaker:business. And, yeah, I can feel you're very heart
Speaker:centered and authentic and I'm really happy that yeah, I
Speaker:had so much fun connecting with you. Good.
